In this video I'll show you the techniques I use to create street level sci-fi images like this one. It's one of my favorite styles to create since it reminds me of when I was into photography, only with much more control.
Photoshop Tutorial:
• How To Edit Your Rende...
Last time I got some questions about my setup. This was made in blender Cycles with an RTX 3090. I have viewport denoising enabled which is why it renders so fast.
I've only ever seen your first video. It's sick to see more tutorials as of late.
You're definitely making a name for yourself in the Blender community as one of the greats.
Appreciate the dedication and progression over the years.
Max! Can't thank you enough, everything you do is gold.
I didn't expect to have a tutorial to create a futuristic city that say 15 minutes, it's amazing and thank you!!
First few seconds and you dealt the best advice ever... look to how professional photographers work for inspiration and guidance. Brilliant.
Great work as always.
Hey Max Hay! I just wanted to *thank you* for so kindly sharing your process and insights with he creative community. Cool acts of kindness like that elevate the entire community and as a result, greater pieces of art and creative ideas flourish. These videos are *great* and I really look forward to them. Insta-like before I even press play! Thanks again Max, super grateful! 🙏🏻

Thank you so much for this walkthrough! I love you work!
Thanks Max really. And more especially for this tutorial
These are the perfect sort of tutorials. No step-by-step, but actually telling us how to improve our workflow and how you came to conclusions. Keep it up man! :D
super love your tutorial!!!!!! Big fan of your amaing work.🤩
This is great, really. Thanks for the inspo!
Learnt so much from this. Thanks for sharing
Incredible tutorial!
Hey Max, this great to watch and follow along.. really enjoying your work on Insta as well... in future videos, could you mention what kind of scale you work in as well.. whether to stay true to scale or start off that way and then scale everything back... it's the one thing I struggle with... I always thought scale had an impact on lighting, and cameras etc...
Its amazing tutorial !!! Thank you !!
We love these!
Thank You, Max!
So, far I have only got to the part where you added a color ramp to the concrete texture for the street. (I had to stop the video to go try it myself.) That alone makes this tutorial worth it. Genius! Thanks! Now, to watch the rest...
Amazing, thank you!
the best!
Very nice tutorial!
this is so awesome
I havent seen anyone so vocal about the asset library such as yourself. Could you do a quick video on getting files from Sketchfab etc and how to integrate them? I feel theres a lot of time to be saved by getting the files blender ready and having a library set up.
so awesome ! where do you get those human models from ?
Max your tutorials have been fantastic, the one issue I run into is that when I rely heavily on volumes to generate my bounce lighting in my scenes, it looks fantastic in stills. But as soon as I add any motion, it destroys the quality and makes it look like it's slightly flickering? Is that something that you've ran into, or have seen before?
Thanks so much for this vid! Is the crowd asset from 3dscanstore?
"Extra shift laying around" a proper label
great look!
Appreciate you so much :)
Bad ass! Thank you!
Bro can you do a tutorial of circles animation that you do in Instagram
POV: it’s 3am, you just got the idea of starting 3d modeling or what ever this is called?!
I just want to learn creating cyberpunk like scenes lmfao.
But tf how do I even start learning this.
Awesome
THANK YOU!!!!
quality content
where do you get human figures?
It’s most likely free models or images, if it’s images all you gotta do it blacken out the image and kinda try to shape the figure a bit
Most probably from Mixamo
Hello Max! I wanted if you have any website in particular for download the premade assets that you use sometimes in your videos, thank you!
is the light in the building reflections or more texture plane?
for the factory kitbash, where can i find it? CGTrader?
Can you apply these techniques in Maya? Otherwise, this is a masterpiece of a video and tutorial.
Hey, so I’ve downloaded a concrete texture from Bridge and applied it but when I add a colour ramp between the roughness links and ramp up the black, it makes no difference to the texture?
Hi Max
First of all, thank you for the awesome tutorial!
I have a question that is bothering me, what is the bottom left node on the ground at 2:40 of the video and what does it do?
Looks like the "UV" node - displays the orientation of the UVs you've set whenever you've unwrapped your ground plane - you can also use the Texture Coordinate Node and plug the UV output into a mapping node - this would also work + you have more control over where the texture is placed due to the mapping node :)
Hope this helps :D
@@visualsbymilo Appreciate it, it's very helpful :D
Question, the library assets, called people, where did you get it?
Absolutely love this video, especially the signs part. I use Kitbash3d a lot, but am alsys looking for human models. Did you make your own, or did you grab them from someplace? Thanks for your time.
I grabbed them CG trader. Not many free options but plenty of cheap ones for under $10
@@maxhayart Sorry for the late response. Thanks so much for the reference!
can you tell me from where did you get THESE PEOPLE MODELS ?
Where do you get all the buildings from and assets?

Do you work in Cycles or Eevee?
Where can I get models of people is there a link?
What graphics card are you using to get such great response?
He uses a 3090 I think.
Gigachad
Human models/plugins from?
What people pack is this?
Hey Max thanks a lot for the video! It's actually my first time playing with textures after I started learning Blender. I just have a quick question regarding the texture of your building : do your buildings also have the similar setup as the road's texture? (also referencing the vid you made here : ua-cam.com/video/JJoo8FWLXK0/v-deo.html)
from where ca i get people?
Please start making tutorial from basic to advance also share the free resources to download models for projects.
kitbash pak its addon?
whers to purchased the factory kitbash i cant find
@𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱 by Max Hay thanks
@@ChubbyCheeseBurgur Can you kindly confirm where the factory kitbash was from please as I can't see the comment? I'm guessing TurboSquid and I'm guessing *expensive?*
Would you ever consider selling or giving away your library's. Mostly the people and stuff things you have sourced for free online?
No. Since it's mostly stuff I've bought, I'm not allowed to resell or give it away.
I model everything in my scenes. :
Shhhhhhh
Please share the assets source...
Some are from Kitbash 3D, Quixel Megascans, and random packs on CGtrader and Turbosquid.
Great tut! How did you render it?
Its Breakdown Not Tutorial Lol 🤣🤣
민물장어 ㅋㅋ
That's no Cyberpunk, that's just an alley with funky lighting. Where are the elements that would show that this scene is set in a cyberpunk future? No augmented people, no ads praising some kind of new bioware, no flying car, no futuristic bike, no simple robots on the street, no armored police or something else. Cyberpunk is a dystopian future with capitalistic megacorporations exploiting every bit of human life and the planet. No feelings of dread, desperation or oppression can be found here. No signs of greed or corruption. There's nothing of that to be found in that piece. It's a well made alley but that's it.
