Procedural Abstract DNA Generator - Blender Tutorial

    This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you for this awesome tutorial! I noticed that a lot more noise is present at the looping keyframes than in the middle. Is that a necessary outcome of this setup? I have my noise looking sort of like a starry black sky, so there's mostly black with some pinpricks of light that get loop animated. Also I'm using Floored Modulo in Blender 4.0

    • @deayanstudios
      @deayanstudios 8 днів тому

      Thanks! So ideally that should not be the case. There are definitely cases where I have had very consistent noise through the loop. Maybe the 4D section that you're using might be the issue. Do test it with other settings and see if it persists. If if does, then you can send screenshots on Instagram and I'll try to figure out what's happening.

    Would it be possible to make different words spin together and settle on one word? Like instead of 6 "Motion"s spinning, could you have Motion, Action, Etc and end on motion? Or would I have to reimagine the geometry nodes?

    • @deayanstudios
      @deayanstudios 11 днів тому

      From my understanding of what you're looking for, yes, it would be possible with a very similar set up, although not exactly this. But if you understand the logic behind this set up, you should be able to rethink the logic for what you require.

    • @shaunmurrayy
      @shaunmurrayy 7 днів тому

      @@deayanstudios I actually realized I was overthinking it, instead of having multiple points on the circle, I just left one point per circle, duplicated the scene and then calculated the rotation of where other words would be on the circle and then cloned the rotational multiplier and added by .6 to the start and end rotations and it worked perfect. Thank you so much again! Great tutorials!

    • @deayanstudios
      @deayanstudios 11 днів тому

      You just have to select the geometry nodes modifier in the modifier stack. That will open up your geometry nodes tree. The reason it's like that is because you can have multiple geometry nodes modifiers on the same object. So based on which one is selected, you can go to that specific geometry node tree

    Thanks for this video so much! I wanted to learn about shaders in Blender and decided to start with the voronoi texture node, but the only videos I found just showed what each aspect of the node does visually while also referring to distance, position, etc. without explaining what those words even mean. It made me feel like I'm stupid for not knowing something they already knew, really, and they didn't treat it as if it's a concept that's needed to be taught. This video made it clear what those words actually mean and I can see now how understanding exactly what is going on can help someone visualize in their mind how to replicate a specific texture they want to create. I look forward to more videos from you, you're one of the best teachers I've seen on here!

    I'm about half way through and really enjoying this. I don't understand why we Set Position twice though (I haven't gotten to colliding with the cube bounds yet, I'm just before it). Can you detail why you're setting the position twice in one step? I get that the leftmost Set Position is for the velocity. But I'm confused why we offset it with its velocity, and then move it again based on the collision.

    • @deayanstudios
      @deayanstudios 26 днів тому

      Hi, So before the collisions with the bounds, there are 2 set positions: one for the collisions and one for the velocity. So essentially, if we had ONLY the collision set position, the points would not move, if they're not colliding with a particle. Resulting in everything just moving far enough to stop touching anything else and then remain stagnant just like that. By adding in the set position for the velocity, the particles continue to move with whatever velocity it gets from the collision with other particles. If we had JUST the set position for the velocity, we would not be taking the collisions into account, so there would be no motion at all. That's why the best way is to have a set position for the collisions, calculate the new velocity after collision and then have a set position that maintains that velocity. I really hope this helps solve your question And I'm also sorry for the late response...

      In order to change the shape to curve, the text has to be converted to a curve first. You can do that by selecting the text, then selecting object->convert-> curve The step is shown at 4:20 just in case you're having trouble finding it. If it still isn't working, you can send screenshots to my Instagram and I'll try to sort it out there.

      Hey! Thank you so much!! It means a lot to me :) I'll possibly get myself a new laptop in the near future. Until then, this shall suffice. Honestly, using this has helped me learn to be more efficient. So it's not all bad.

      @@deayanstudios I wish you for a brighter future.. and also I am hoping more explanations like this for nodes ❤️❤️

      Thank you so much! I'll keep making more like this, but until then, you can check out the ones I've made on the voronoi texture, Vector math node, noise texture, white noise texture, etc.

      Oh... I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe you can send screenshots or your blend file over through instgram and I'll try to see what might be going wrong and I'll try to help sort it out for you :)

    Can you visualize geometry node vectors in shader editor? But not using seperate xyz, that gives me black and white color and meaning nothing to me, I want to see them in vector format

    • @deayanstudios
      @deayanstudios Місяць тому

      That sounds fairly interesting. It would definitely be a bit harder to visualise it in the shader editor, although it's doing the same as the geometry nodes vectors. I'll think about this and if I can come up with a nice intuitive way to visualise them, I'll definitely create a video on it

    Video is super useful - but there is some steam coming from my head now Is that supposed to be like that?

      Thank you so much! 😂 Don't worry. You'll slowly get used to the steam as you start getting more mathematically involved :)
