Destiny Cat is a good way to get a new phone for you to use for the program to be in the process of getting the new one and the other is the best
Hahahahahahaha
I have tired several recipes for lipsticks over the past few years, I was so disappointed, then I came across yours from 8 yrs ago and let me tell you, I absolutely LOVE IT!!! it is simple, natural and it worked, I did a little subbing on the beeswax to make it vegan but honey, I absolutely love it and thank you so much for making something so simple come out so amazing
okay anyone please correct me if wrong..
if i'm not wrong, since the castor oil provided the "shine-factor", u can trade it away for a matte lipstick. if u want a super intense color, i recommend you add titanium dioxide and pigment powder instead of mica.
as for consistency, im still working to find the perfect one! besides, everybody likes their lipsticks a little differently. i can't show a recipe without "triggering" and trolls. so pls adjust to ur liking. :)
hope it helps.
styleken instead of grapeseed oil and jojoba oil what can I use? I can't find grapeseed oil anywhere where I live😞 Also the where do I get that pigment from and how long do the lipstick last as in a year? I'm sorry I am asking so many questions but I loved your method of making natural lipsticks and I want to make one for myself as well as gift others😊
styleken Can you please tell me how long this lipstick can be kept?
Pink Heart This reply is a yr later lol but I’m here to help.
You can substitute Jajoba oil for Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Grape Seed Oil can be substituted for Coconut oil or Avocado oil.
styleken - Thank you for this video.
Can I do it without castor oil?
This is a great video, thanks for sharing! Also to anyone reading the comments, if you plan on selling these or giving them to friends make sure you wear gloves so you don't get any germs on your hands on the lipstick!
Rebecca Harvey good idea!
I'd put some preservative in there to prevent any microbial spoilage, and an antioxidant like vitamin E to prevent rancidity of the oils
Where I can buy an economic mold like that of the video:)>
yep i will. these are for my own amusement only XD
i actually didnt use them. i just really like to look at brand new lipsticks lol
i did prepare vit E actually but i totally forgot to put that in XD
This is a great video! I guess I never realized how much of lipstick is oil. Thank you for sharing🥰
hee. glad u liked it. you can tweak the recipe to suit your own likings. also, try other oils and butters. eg. coconut oil, avocado oil, shea butter, cocoa butter..etc
ok great ! I am going to stick to the oils for lipsticks and lipgloss but I'll use the shea butters and cocoa butters for lip butters and lip balms. This is just great ! Keep up the excellent work
this is a great tutorial... congrats!
by the way, do you know how to make matte lipsticks? another tutorial for mattes would be thankful.. ^_^
Add cornstarch
Fat Panda wow really?
For matte-r lipstick, I would avoid using castor oil as it has a glossy finish. It also depends on the mica powder (colourant) you use.
You may use Titainum Dioxide (Ti02), silica or zinc oxide (Zn02)
Yayyy it has been 8 years since you made this video 😊 congrats
You can melt and mix your old lipstick stubs, creating a new color in the process, and make new lipsticks with the mold.
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing the knowledge :) It looks so much fun!
its really up to you. depending on what kinda of lipsticks you prefer. i made these for some friends and they prefer softer lipsticks which glides on lips smoothly. i do know of some ppl who likes harder ones. in that case, just use more wax.
this tutorial is great!i have to try this at home!
thank you so much!
in the next tutorial, you have got to show us how to do a matte lipstick:)
It looks so interesting!!!
no wayyy i remember watching this video when i was like 6
It is an old video but this looks like a great natural way of making my own lipsticks and i can experiment with shades
By far this is the best lip gloss tutorial that I've come across, but I would like to know how to make a larger batch so if you have a recipe for a large batch of lip gloss base can you please share 🙏thank you
Really really helpful and easy thank you for giving me this I was always looking for a diy lipstick tutorial this is way better than crayons!!😀😀
Jade M i dont like the crayon way too hehe feels odd for me
styleken exactly 😂
@@styleken Does it stay solid in the heat outside? Is last long? Does it last long on the lips?
I wish I had seen this video earlier.
I thought it should have candelilla wax for solid lipstick also Is it possible to use olive emulsifying wax or tucuma butter instead of bee wax? I bought to many ingredients and waisted my money to make lipstick. I made it today, but my lip get dry. Also I used Jamaican black castor oil and oslove organic face and body oil.
I hope you answey❤
this is pretty fun! :) the best video tutorial ive ever watched! can i also use eyeshadow that i don't use much?
Yes, ofcourse you can
you're welcome! thanks for watching :D
Nice video and easy to understand.
less oil might help the greasy part. if you want the colour to "pop" (bolder) add titanium dioxide to "intensify" the colour. but keep in mind that might lighten the colour. hope it helps! :D
thank you for all the useful links!! i've been wanting to make my own lipsticks recently, just for the fun of it (and to have lesser chemicals in my makeup)....
fidottt watch jsuperkaur DIY m sure you'll like it!
thanks for your suggestion! i'll be doing a give away soon, hopefully! :D
Emma you can purchase some at a local crafts store such as Michaels they will usually have it in the candle section
yes you're right! if i added titanium dioxide, the colour would be more opaque too. :D
i have that same reaction when i first discover the true ingredients for lipstick. haha.
thanks for the suggestion! i think i'll do a giveaway soon :D
Its castor oil. I oil each hole of the mold with a drop of oil to help release the bullets. Hope it helps! :D
i cant say for sure if its better.. i like the fact that i can adjust oil to wax ratio as compared to using a pre-made base.. so i guess its better for me..
thanks for your comment :)
im using Canon A3200 (the orange one).
hi sorry its been a while since i made this video. you can decide how much u want to add! add less for a sheer colour and add more to get a more intense colour. also, it depends on the mica you have on hand. maybe about a teaspoon in total for this recipe. also, if you are using pigment powder, then maybe about 1/4 tsp. just do the "try and error" thing. hope it helps! :D
What’s the measure, ents for all the ingredients
Many of them are, but you can get natural pigments, like you can get natural flavorings, however due to the current recession, its unlikely, due to the fact they are limited and don't give an amazing effect compared to the toxic ones. Most natural pigments are from extracts, oils and of course, beeswax and can give a scent too, you can make your own DIY Pigments and this is the most common way to actually get natural pigments: LippyGirlMakeup shows you a video on how to make makeup minerals.
I'd increase your wax to oil ratio, those sticks look a little soft to me
yea i didnt wait long enough for it to harden. it actually turn out much harder the next day
what can be used instead of beeswax? same ratios?
@@Seliiintje carnauba wax, candelilla wax
thank u 4 showing all the lipstick was truly in its container and that you didn't pull a spooky on us.
well yes. i started out with the lipstick base too, but i didnt like the texture of it. in fact, none of my friends who tried them liked it. anyway i've always liked making things from scratch so i started researching on how to make the lipstick base on my own. n i was lucky to find a few sources! i tried them out and they turned out pretty good. :)
Awesome colour!
Wow that turned out really nice
I want to know more! Where you buy everything, how to make other colours and other finishes and more pigmented.... :D
I think that you'd find everything concerning the cases on Amazon. I have heard many say that. 💕

The color is stupendous, and an awesome way to make lipstick!!!!:D
they looked fab well done
i think u can use any oil u like. just watch out for their shelf life. also, the texture. in some colder countries, coconut oil will be semi-solid. from where i am, it looks just like the other oils.
The color tho 😍😍😍😍
Gorgeous color!! 👍
Castor oil contains the moist sure and it makes the lipbalm creamy and moisturizing u could add olive oil instead
hi there...so far the best diy lipstick i have seen thank you
do i need to put use my freezer so thay wont melt?
yozertbasharon i meen after its ready
to show the whole batch turned out okay and even! and to show how the color will show on the skin :D
Hello I will love to learn how to make this product you is very great what you do
use matt pigment. the mica i used has shimmer. if you want really matt lipstick, use red iron oxide. :)
Depends, what cooking oil do u have? If u are talking about oil that. U can find at home, or easily found in supermarket, u can try extra virgin olive oil n coconut oil. Help it helps! :)
Beautiful color
Also, you can just remelt the excess and add it in the molds again and you get even MORE lipsticks!
Big help for business minded... Do you have your own lipsticks business? What is the brand?
Sounds possible. Well if it melts it'll be liquid oil, which is just like grape seed oil.
yes i did! i wrote it in the description box :)
I am just completely and utterly stunnged by this ! I want to go into the natural cosmetics business and start my own line of all natural make up. And this has given me such inspiration ! It's so easy !! OMG! I am so excited and I can not wait to make this! I do have one request though. Can you put it on so I can see how good the color shows up? That's the only thing missing :) thanks! LOVE THE VIDEO! Totally just subscribed
she's asking where you got everything and she also said beautiful labels :D
thats a gr8 idea too! without messing with molds :D
Nice..you should do DIY paint sticks next!
wow so cool. would love to try this at home
I am having so much trouble making lipstick that actually stays on my mouth when I talk. What are the ingredients of the pink that went into this lipstick? This looks really good, but is it natural?
i will try this! thanks so much for sharing
Nice I can make lipsticks in Soft summer colors. Which are hard to find. Most drug store or Macy's lipsticks are to Bright for me.
Wow looks profesdionally done
yeah! Now i can make home made lipsticks
My lipstick becoming too oily n broken.. What's the reason behind it?what to do for this? Please reply.
Follow me for LIPSTICK AND MAKEUP TUTORIALS
wow the nice colour
this is very good, thanks for the information. can this product be sold? how long will it last?
I like how you did this I just wish it was more pigmented. Can the pigmentation be adjusted or does adding more yield bad results?
Amazing! Thank you this helped me so much
These lipsticks very shiny
I was looking for matte here
Can you pls upload DIY Natural Matte Lipstick Tutorial @styleken?
And it would be nice if you tell how to make a nude shade (orangish pink, brown type of tone)
And one more thing, for how long can you store these lipsticks outside (without fridge)?
Thank you.
dont skip it. replace it w different carrier oil :)
AMAZING! Please keep 'em coming.
replace mica (has shimmer) with iron oxide. replace castor oil (adds shine) with other carrier oil. :)
It sounds great......
Luv from south india......
no prob :D please continue to support :D
well, wax is one of the ingredients. u melt everything, including the wax. so when the wax hardens, it holds the oils together. u can wait for it to cool down, or put it in the fridge/freezer.
Omg ur a total pro!
Love the shade ❣
nice...but where we can buy this product?? please reply
Very cool video! Keep on crafting:)
Luvallthingskawaii thanks! :D
A very good video. Thanks for sharing!
Just a question: where did you get your lipstick mold? I'd like to know where I can get them.
Regards!
Hello, thanks for the informative video.
Firstly, do you agree with 'fiddlydee93' that you would need to increase your wax to oil ratio?
Secondly, I can see the 'pearl pink' mica being added in your tutorial but not the 'satin white'? There are several types of 'satin white' available on the TKBtrading website; which did you use and how much of it?
Thirdly, what is the difference between a sparkle mica and a pearl mica?
Finally, how would you go about creating a deeply pigmented dark red wine coloured lipstick with the same satin-like/creamy texture? I think I understand how to use the oils and waxes but how would I obtain the shimmer/sparkle effect without it lightening the shade of lipstick? An ultra-fine unobtrusive/colourless glitter, would make it grainy in consistency. I still haven't found the right coloured mica but presumably mixing red and black in the correct ratio would give me the stunning colour I desire?
I would be grateful if you (or anyone else) could help me please?
Thank you very much for your time and help.
Hi Charlotte :-) You asked some very good questions I'll try to answer as much as I can (I am a licensed Esthetician (skincare + makeup college educated with state license) (licenced since 1986).
First Q - Yes, increasing the wax ratio will make for a harder bullet, just don't add too much because if it's too hard you will not get the color to transfer to your lips (think crayon, and I'm certain you don't want that consistency)! Remember, you need to have some degree or ratio of emollient for the color to glide onto your lips, so easy on the wax. You can always add more wax, you cannot take it away! Add a little more (a few grains), re-melt and test the formula by adding a droplet to a dish and cooling it in the freezer, then try testing it on your hand and go from there bit by bit until you are happy with the hardness or softness.
Second Q - Which Satin White depends upon the end result appearance you are going for...I saw only one product by the name SATIN WHITE, it is a MICA, meaning that it has some degree of sheen, and this specific one has less than the other on the site named Satin Pearl aka Fine White Mica. They call this last white PEARL because it has a very fine texture which yeilds the PEARL-LIKE effect, whereas the SATIN WHITE does not yeild a pearl-like sheen so much. Im thinking you'll like the SATIN WHITE better, especially if you are choosing anogther MICA color to mix it with (as was stated in this video - though she appeared to not have used the SATIN WHITE). Two micas mixed will likey yeild a shiny finish if either of the two has PEARL in the description. (There are different particle sizes in the mica category of powdered colorants, with pearl micas having the smaller particulate size).
Final Q - Again, you get the satin texture/appearance by using mica, just be aware that pearl mica will yeild a high-shine result (and it does not sound like that is what you are after). You have options in obtaining a highly pigmented wine shade... You can opt to use a pigment that is the shade and depth of color you like as-is (meaning it's the shade you are after on appearance on the site.
Look at these - Crucible Red (which is lip approved and metallic rather than a mica, meaning it has no pearlescent quality at all, but it will give you a smooth satin-like appearance if you mix in a like-color mica with it).
Some other options are Colorona Bordeaux (Lip approved), MyMix Cranberry Blush (Lip approved), Queen Kathryn (Lip approved), Berry Red Concentrate (Lip approved liquid that you'd need to add mica to in order to get that satin look you're after).
Last of all and probably the easiest to work with are the TKB Lip Liquids - these can be inter-mixed to acheive the shade you want, with these, what you see is what you'll get - take a look at these shades of the Lip Liquids - Lip Liquid - Red 40, Lip Liquid - Red 33 ( yes, this will look VERY dark, but no worry, it is a dark red, however, if you want a more RED toned wine, just add one of the lighter reds from the Lip Liquids), then there is Lip Liquid - Carmine Dye ( be aware that anything with the word DYE in it may stain your lips).
If you want a more bluish cast you can opt to add Lip Liquid Blue 1 very sparingly (one drop at first, then one more drop at a time until you reach your desired wine shade). I will suggest one other powdered colorant which is Blackstar Red, this is a mysterious black-toned red, more black than red, with some shimmer-effect to it. Use this if you want to darken your color even futher, but use very sparingly unless you're looking for a gothic-look.
You may also want LIGHTEN if you have gone too dark, in that instance use either the SATIN WHITE or the Lip Liquid - Pigment White in the event you want/need to lighten your formula/mixture.
I know this is probably more than you may be able to take in, but it will all come together once you look at all of them at www.tkbtrading.com and type into the search bar the color names as I have them listed above.
I would go with the liquids myself and choose one or two micas to add in, maybe one wine or red tone and one white mica, but that's just what I think since you are new to this it might be easier and more controllable as well as cost effective but it's all trial and error, you'll need to experiment, but that' is the most fun part of the process, right?! :-)
If you do opt to use powdered colorants, you can purchase sample sizes if you are uncertain which colors you actually want/need, experiment, then purchase larger sizes once you're certain (this way you wont waste money if you find you hate one or more of the colors!
Good luck, have fun, and my apology for soooo much info - hope this has helped you, if you have any other questions - please, reach out, I'm more than happy to help anyway I can! :-)
Hi Judith,
How are you? I hope you are keeping well.
I'm new to all this and I think I have sent you a reply in the wrong place.
I really am grateful to you for your help. I am sure that you will find my response elsewhere.
Thanks so much for your kindness and passing on your pearls of wisdom.
Best wishes,
Charlotte.
Wow!!!! :D and have you try a liquid to matte lipstick? I'd love to know, because I looked the TKB website and saw a matte base but I'm not sure if I only need the castor oil and the dimethicone, I hope you can answer :)
i think castor oil gives it a glossy finish. you might want to skip that and replace with something else. im not entirely sure though you really have to try it to find out
Hi Judith,
Thank you so much for your help and advice.
Please accept my apologies for the late response; someone very close to me was admitted to hospital recently which really took its toll on me.
You have been so kind, intelligent and thorough which is what I needed as I'm new to the world of making cosmetics. I really can't thank you enough!
I wish you well. Take care!
Kind regards,
Charlotte.
Hey love watching this diy !! One doubt I have would u suggest any preservatives for this!? Which one? TIA
This is an awesome video. Where do you get your supplies and packaging from?
I'd totally buy a kit!
i love the colour
Well done +styleken
You done a good job
Sadia Islamcool thanks! :D
thank you, wonderful video, great music.
thank you for this beautiful recipe.
love this ..can you please tell me where you got the molds you used? i was looking all over and stuff is wayyyyy too pricey. 12 bucks for a 3 piece mold on amazon but not sure what to search for for this. need something on a budget. this looks cool :)
oh, and avoid castor oil as it helps add shine. substitute with different carrier oil.
love the video what did you put in the mold my lipstick gets getting stuck PLEASE HELP!!
do u mean the lipstick mold? i got it from tkbtrading (online). u can try checking their website to see if they deliver to norway :)
Hi, where did you get those labels? It looks like chalkboard and chalk. I like it.
awesome :) I wish I was living in the US and could get hold of the molds and lipstick cases. I do my lipsticks in plain white lipbalm tubes :( But the ingreadients are the same.
I like the color
what can we use in place of grapeseed oil? and loved your video it was fun.
