- I've been thinking about Lord of the Rings a lot lately, Also those dang achievements where you have to win a map over 100 times, those too.

Actually, if you fill the side of the team you’re on with medic bots instead of scouts, they’ll follow you because the AI is programmed to follow the individual they’re healing and calling ‘Medic’ tends to make them try to heal you. This allows for you to manually bring them with you, letting you complete the helltower and other achievements without even requiring a Nav mesh. Or making a map with the same file name.
Well not really. Medic bots tend to not follow or just flat out ignore some classes like Sniper, Spy, Medic, Enginner, and Scout rendering 5 of the 9 classes not usable with them. You can use Soldier, Pyro, Demoman and Heavy as the Medic bots will always follow the player who picks them.

It's sadly not nearly as automatic, though.

Small fun fact about bots: if you set the tf_bot_offense_must_push_time convar to 0, they will move around and fight no matter the gamemode! They might still ignore the objective though, and just go towards the enemy spawn until they find an enemy player
Also, to keep edits made to the nav mesh, you need to input the nav_save command

I think those "Win this map 150 times" achievements are made to aggravate people going out of their way to get every single achievement. If standin or snakewater is your favorite map I'm sure its fantastic but if you obsess over having every achievement it's there just to make it annoying.

The ONLY hard achievement that I still need to get is the Mutually Air-Sured- Destruction, in which you must with an enemy soldier kill each other while rocket jumping, and it must be done in Snakewater
At some point I hope to have a guide for this. I'll keep you posted.

when I first got tf2 as a f2p, I would play with bots to get achievement items because I kept getting called a "noob" for not having them. this reminds me of how tedious it actually was :D

The thing I love about exploring the tf2 youtube jungle is that you find neat little bits of knowledge that turn out to be really useful!
It is possible to win doomsday if you install the Bots Overhaul mod, which fixes a lot of the nav problem and improves bot AI.

The broken achievements are the worst. I will never be able to get a 100% completion now! Also… the rock paper scissors achievements are insane now.
There is always one bot joining BLU because you were trying to add 24 bots on a max 24-player server, when it could only add 23 since you occupied one slot too. What the game does is it added the 24th bot into the queue until next time it can join the game, which is when you had to kick everyone on map change. Seems though it doesn't remember that it's supposed to be added to RED so it would join BLU to balance the game out.

TF2's achievements are so varied, there's some random quick ones you get by just playing the game but then also there's these super long Sisyphean ones that can take hours of grinding xD Even if you've been playing for years, there's still a chance you'll get some random achievement popup out of the blue

I have joined legit empty casual games am the only person inand no one joins and just do achievements

I remember grinding these out with the sv_cheats 1, force_win, sv_cheats 0, at least I think that was the command lol
With cheats on you can actually slow or speed up the game. I used to play bot games with slo mo for fun.
If you speed the game up it should stay like that once you turn off cheats.
That is how I got my map achievements.
Here is a trick that doesn’t require sv_cheats:
For some of the mvm achievements, you can just make custom mvm tours (there’s a website for that) and make tons of scout bots with no HP and no sentry busters. Load it and go afk as engl with +attack enabled (so you reload your sentry. Don’t forget the dispenser). Took me ~4 days of just AFKing to get the achievement for killing lots of bots. (I didn’t speed up the game for that because I heard it does some funky stuff to the mvm bots)

I followed the instructions, but for some reason after the first win, around half the bots switched to different classes and the scouts keep suiciding a lot.
Mine did it BEFORE the match even started!
Not making that mistake again, I tried to intervene, and it took over an hour to reach a stalemate. That was a huge waste of my time, but I did get two unrelated achievements so cool I guess.

Theres a mod on GB that improves bot AI and adds navmeshes for a lot of maps so I've been using that to get most of my achievements when I play

There is actually a way to get Doomsday working with TF Bots. It's a whole thing, though. Thankfully when I recently went through the effort of trying to get those impossible achievements for the map I had already done most of the ones that required other players back when the map originally released. These days, if you can't find a community server running it that has achievements enabled, you are very unlikely to find a Valve server that isn't just all sniper bots--if that is even running. So, yeah, I got it working (sort of) and managed to get the last few achievements done on a private server...It was a lot of nothing, though, since you just have to do a lot of capping from one side of the map all the way to the other.

Man I've been working on a bunch of achievement bot solo guide things for a while now (got driven to do it by The Great Deflate and went from there) and I never thought about the tf_bot thing for these map achievements. I was overcomplicating it so hard trying to set up times teleport commands. Thanks you saved my ass.
Have you tried that bot overhaul mod? I’m pretty sure it adds comparability to payload race, deathmatch, etc
Off-topic, but quick question: which scene from LOTR did you use for the beginning?
why not just replace the maps where you instantly win then verify game files later?

this probably like the only legit attempt on getting those achievements. i refuse to believe anyone who got all tf2 achievements legitimately and if they exist. they are like 0.1% players.
