Hey dude! Good punishment imo is someone like JIn Kaz etc. Bryan is below average. This is due the most important punishes (10-12f) being poor. His while standing for this range is also lackluster.
@@TheMainManSWE I wouldn't compare him to mishima's they generally have top tier punishes Bryan - i10 does 24 dmg , below average I would say say are characters who barely do 20 For standing punishes I would count till i13 as that's important to punish hopkick's and some df2's Bryan - uf2 does 29 dmg and can wall splat from 3 back dashes away if we're not counting i13 for while standing His WS 4 does 16dmg which can be considered standard as most character's do 15-16 dmg.
@@IAMOP But even compared to King, King's 10f punishes set up his grab mixups. He has b1,2 like Paul minus the knockdown. Bryan's 10f punishes either leave him in your face (where he doesn't want to be usually) or is a CH wall splat but is -10 on block. He has no 11f punish and his 12f punish (4,3) is underwhelming also. His 13f punishment is slightly above average I would say. His df2,1 into sway works as a 13f mixup punish but it's a weak mixup. His uf2 is a good punish and his FCdf2,1 is a great WS punish. After JU, his 15f punish is f2,1-(4) or (3,1,2) which isn't really a standard 15f punish. I don't feel like he has weak punishment but he does have slightly below average punishment.
When I think of bad punishment, I think about characters like Steve, Hwoarang, Asuka ect ect. Characters who just get frames and that's it. Bryan's 10-13 is kind of meh, but you also have to consider 1 big thing. He is the only character who can launch punish 14 frames WITHOUT a just frame input. That is a huge amount of punishment privilege. Also is db 2+1 punishes 15 frame moves and is a heat engager😅

I'm a Bushin Law and I tend to win 90% of my mirror matches because a lot of Laws play the exact same gameplan of spam and lockdown frames but since I used to play Jin I think my fundamentals are just better than the average Law

As a Bryan main, I might be the only one thinking he needs huge nerfs Somehow they made Bryan a homing character on the last patch he received buffs, I didnt struggled before this one patch and now every random ass Bryan can just press buttons and it's risk free and skilless im kind of ashamed it's this way now Also about the charge on 3+4 tho, you can fuzzy press since the move only has 2 states compared to Paul b2,1 for example where he can release when he wants, Bryan just can't, it's commital so you basically delay a mid check on 3+4 so you don't get blown up by the charged extension and you always block the regular one in time Compared to what TMM said with all the charges exemple in the game, Paul, Kazuya and even DVJ db1+2 are all charged up attacks that you can release at any point during their animation which isnt the case with Bryan 3+4

You should ALWAYS crouch Bryan when he is FAR AWAY from you since almost all his aproaching moves are highs, the exception beign 3+4 wich is not too scary as long as it not counter hit, ff 3 is slow and reacteable and qcf 1+2 is also reacteable. DUCK Bryan when far away always and launch punish. EDIT: Ok you kinda say it but in a weird way. Just dont duck Bryan up close and always duck him when far away.
I really like ssr vs bryans (I also play bryan). The mirror is a little weird but the risk reward seems pretty good especially at range if they whiff a 3+4 or qcb1.1

F3/1+2 on hit into B4 at the wall, one of the best frame trap Bryan has, if he trades with a jab, he is +19, 3+4,2 is guaranteed(If he has snake eyes). This just shows how important it is to know when to press and duck.

People get ch'd from double F3 a lot because they press, both B4 and F3 are i16. This setup should work with 1+2 on hit too, because it's +6, so B4 will trade with a jab. Actually I think I meant to write 1+2 and not F3 originally, but whatever.
I'm always confused when someone says a character has good/bad poking when every character has a 10 frame jab. What do they mean? Is it the advantage frames on block, the follow ups from the jab, or something else? How am I supposed to take advantage of characters with "bad poking" when I get up close if they have the same poking frames as anyone else?

Delay techroll is wat better than staying at the ground by default option. Otherwise the Bryan player punish you after cancel the taunt confirming your wake up option, dealying techroll atleast foreces him to changes his taunt timming.

But the Bryan player can dash in, still the wall combo you mentioned is the best for taunt setup, but he can do stuff like not finishing the wall combo on purpose, like let's say he is doing simply like DF2,1, you tech roll he taunts and you get launched. Stuff like that, you know. So staying on the ground is still the best option.

Hello! I've never had a Bryan do a taunt dash there. The reality is that very, very few players actually use the escape tech I mention here. To most Bryan players 1+2,2 into heat bound is guaranteed. Cheers

Frames on block, poke range/hitbox radius is a factor. Bryan pokes are good, but his punishment kinda meh thats true
