Same here. I’ve been watching Andy for two years now and omg he still looks very much the same. It is June 2024 and I stumbled on this video and I am grateful.
Your videos are awesome! I have liver cirrhosis stage 4 and it's calming to watch the scenery and love the camp cooking videos. My son and I watch the channel and he loves camping I can't go anymore because of the illness but vicariously through your adventures. Just wanted to say thanks and keep on making more vids.
wow Andy! Your personality has sure changed in 2024! Each year you seem to have picked up more skills, and become more comfortable with your camping, cooking, and film editing. I love your newer videos, where you show us your lovely smile, you lovely sense of humour, and mad cooking skills. Love your channel!
only started watching just watched this one thought had wrong video till i saw you you not only have long hear but a beard didnt know who you were but love everything from you keep on dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1/20/24 now started watching these earlier vlogs. Interesting how you have progressed, setting up various tents and cooking style. Awesome vlogs no matter when they were done ❤
Awesome video Andy. WOW, you look so different. With long hair and a beard. Thank you for sharing and for all the hard work and time you put into your awesome videos. KEEP ADVENTURING GOD BLESS YOU 🤗HUGS🤗
Having watched mostly your more recent videos, watching something early like this shows Andy "in the raw" sort to speak. Not to call it amateurish but certainly not to the level of camerawork and production of the latest efforts that exhibits more polish and experience. This is more like a vlog or video journal with lots of "on the ground and in the trenches" shakeycam perspective. Anyway, Andy in any flavor is quality time no matter what. Keep on truckin', Andy. :)
Enjoyed the Conoe Trip with Simon ,The viddles ( breakfast) and venison and Potatoes looked perfect, I'd like to see You try Your Luck at fishing Someday . Cheers from Don from Charlotte N.C Across the Pond, Happy Trails to You ! Lol... classic line... "Ive left the beer in the truck!" Never mind the wet, snow, wind, potential for hyperthermia. ...the beer had been left behind Quality! ... good trip , thx for sharing atb.
The Dartmoor Society, Dartmoor National Park plus several local associations can give further information on your tour through Fernworthy and its ancient sites. I can remember photographing the Teignhead clapper bridge way back in 2002 for English Heritages ‘millenium’ project. Great place for walks from the Warren Inn. Enjoyed your vlog, a merry Christmas to all Kent Survival supporters.
One of your more recent videos popped into my algorithm, and I was instantly hooked. I had to go back to the binging for more context on how you started. This is a really fun video and, oh how your skills have evolved. I watch your channel more than anything now. Thanks for the entertainment Andy! Happy trails!
Hello from the States! I recently discovered your channel and I'm hooked. Has anyone told you that you could be the Bob Ross of bushcraft? I appreciate your calm, friendly videos. Very interesting and informative!
That is Hiking and Camping alright! Exhausted by the end of a day walking over wet and uneven ground. Your presentation, production and channel have come a long way up in three years!
Hi With the fire 🔥 it’s not just roots. If there’s peat, that can burn underground and cause serious fires. That’s the fire at the first stop. Good video looks cool to say the least.
Good old dartmoor ,all 4 seasons in 1 day.On a serious note ,many people have been caught out by the weather and terrain but being well prepared will see you right ,great vid mate
You really captured the atmosphere of a cold, damp, snowy afternoon on Dartmoor in this video. So a very realistic video. Came over well! I mean, camping in the summer is easy, but under those conditions it's, well, survival!
Great video, I can recall wild camping in the same place with a mate some badly put together tarps 4 years ago. One quick suggestion for food, notice you kept the supermarket packaging, I put my supplies into zip locks, easier to store and carry (maybe not for the beans though).
It’s interesting you studied film Andy. Once you know that, It’s quite clear you have training in that particular art. From composition to your edits, the professionalism shines through. I think your talent really comes across in the way you use music in your videos. It’s not noticeable, but enhances the visuals. The way it should be imo. Another reason your videos are so enjoyable. Keep it going Andy, Attenborough has to retire sometime 😉
Great video and location. Incidentally, I also went out on the 27th April on a photo shoot and although that was here in the peak district, it was cold and wet, so I guess that the UK was going through the throws of it's final winter weather. I like the camp sites that you chose, though I'm sure you would have appreciated warmer weather. Shame about leaving the beer in your 4x4, they should have had priority listing as a survival must. Thanks for sharing. Take care...
Hey, thank you. yeah, shame about the beer.. I've not forgotten them since haha. I saw Carlisle195 did a video of this time as well and had some pretty grim weather (made for a nice thumbnail though so can't complain haha) ATB
Ist time seeing you. Your weather like ours in Georgia. Wait 5 min it will change. I can't camp anymore and so fun seeing the old farm n animals. Thanks for sharing bit about you n stay safe. Liked n subscribed ..will see you in the future. Take care!
I loved the great grey shrike that was brilliant I’ve just watched this again years after first watching it and I missed that bit somehow I look on your back catalogue having a look around keep up the great work Andy
Good on ya for sticking it out thru the snow. I have to admit i laughed out loud when you finally got back to camp only to find you left the beer in the truck. Felt real bad for you after all those trips ! I was happy to see you got a nice warm fire and meal into you after that. Its about -15 C at night where i'm at in canada, so your vids are getting me thru till it warms up to near freezing before i get out to the bush for an overnighter. Cheers.
Thanks Dan, I was a little underprepared.. there was no warning of snow and was the end of April.. I nearly took my summer sleeping bag, glad I didn't haha. Ive got camped below around -4... think id need some new kit to stick out -15 haha
haha, thanks.. it was more the time of year which was the surprise.. bit out of context now.. I nearly took my summer sleeping bag and it was about -6 if I remember brrrr haha
Its so crazy to look back and see you with long hair. Love your videos.
Same! I'm watching from 2024, looking at some of the older videos, like you mentioned

You know, your videos are so peaceful and educational it's a privilege to watch.
I’m fascinated by old walking trails and bridges, that stone bridge was INCREDIBLE!! Looks like old giants built it!

I watch because I enjoy what you do and how much you care for what you do.
