Thanks for sharing another great adventure Professor CBK. Brings back memories of days gone by. Was out last week on the beach with my son found some beaver tailed ring pulls and showed him what we did with them, kept him busy all day. Keep up the great work and see you on the next one. Cheers mate 👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍🤜🤛
Great trip down memory lane Andrew . It's amazing what kept us amused when we were kid's, I remember flicking the ring pulls, even having competitions at school lunchtimes. If i were to tell my young nice how i spent time flicking ring pulls around she would give me a strange look and say i was crazy. Great work Viv.
Gday Andrew, having a partner who supports your addiction, there’s the gold right there. Love the adventures and thanks for bring back long forgotten memories. Hey and finding $2,20. That’s a pie and an egg flip big M. Happy days.
CBK this hunt had me i chuckles. 😂😂 I find beach detecting so frustrating but i really resonated with what you said in the beginning there is a beach i keep going back to as i am drawn to the area... Hopefully one day something cool will come of my little spot.
G'day Andrew. Not only are you the button king, but now also the ringpull and bottle top king as well.Reminiscing about the good ol' days and great camera work from Viv as usual.I tried detecting at a local lake beach recently and came home with only junk and a couple of sinkers. Cheers mate and catch you on the next one.
Hi Andrew, still watching but I had to comment here, So it’s you and your friends i have the pleasure of thanking about finding those bloody ring pulls 😂😂
Good timing getting there at low tide,I have heard those 50m inland tides can be dangerous.Always remember to never put your back to the surf.Great vid mate.
I remember taking the bottles to the corner shop and getting a heap of liquorice in return. I binge ate it and was very sick. I am not a fan of it anymore haha. Good memories thought.
After a bit, you were there with bells on, Andrew! Nicely done Viv, too. At least you'll be able to hear your rod should you fall into slumber under a tree whilst fishing. I can't picture that either. Getting the giggles with Mello Yello is great, and great those pyramidal ice treats of Glug, Razz and the like have deteriorated their aluminium linings enough to be undetectable today, although not the ciggie packets on the drier parts of goldfields. Soft packs and hard packs. Sorry to give you a reminder but those mysteries that have you foiled are perhaps the offending items. On inland swimming holes, before pools in town, there'd be the favourite site with the giant tree to swing and jump off a rope into the wet: "Swimming, swimming, In a swimming hole. When days are hot or days are cold, In a swimming hole! Front step, side step, fancy diving too. Oh don't you wish there was nothing better to do, than... Swimming, swimming, In a swimming hole (repeat ad infinitum unto nauseam!) Happy swinging, as ever, although we're seeing you hurtle quickstep and pronto to the nearest ancient dumping grounds, for respite from the nineteen seventies! Oh, there's a selection of Splices in the Kelvinator, I'll have a pine-lime.
The only thing better would be to have used a 70s detector to find all those memories. I got my 1978 Whites working and found a bunch of goodies the old way without a pin pointer. Now that brought back some memories but we have it made now!
This felt like a case Of deja vu But the hunter wasn't me The hunter Was you Ring pulls and bottle caps And fishing gear too I looked once again But the hunter Was you The lake there beside you The gritty sand too And as you dig down The ground becomes goo That sticks to your blade Like it's made of glue If I didn't know better I'd say you were here It's just down the road a bit And it's really quite near Which then begs the question What are you doing here?... You could have done with that shovel on the Northumbrian beaches. What a beast.
Good news just in…..
It only takes 597 modern ringpulls to earn you $1 at the recycling centre 😬

This felt like a case
Of deja vu
But the hunter wasn't me
The hunter
Was you
Ring pulls and bottle caps
And fishing gear too
I looked once again
But the hunter
Was you
The lake there beside you
The gritty sand too
And as you dig down
The ground becomes goo
That sticks to your blade
Like it's made of glue
If I didn't know better
I'd say you were here
It's just down the road a bit
And it's really quite near
Which then begs the question
What are you doing here?...
Next
