You're right about people not knowing anything about the history that lies beneath their feet. And it never ceases to amaze me just how many people have a blank, couldn't-care-less kind of look when you show them finds like hammered coins. Guess we are a breed unto ourselves!
I think it’s a real shame, I’ve learned a huge amount about my own history from doing this hobby, it’s really opened my eyes to the history in our towns and cities. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Try putting old socks over your boots or what I have done is cut the sleeves off an old hoodie, it helps to stop the mud from sticking. Yes you look a plum, but it does work.
I have them in the boot of the car,but always forget to get them out. Then too lazy to walk back which is just odd as I struggle all day with the mud lol
Great to be out and about in the fresh air finding the local history. Best wishes and happy hunting out there!
Good to have you back 🎉
Forgot to add, really enjoyed that, well done young man 😁👍
Some cool finds!
Well done for showing true detecting! Nice watch winder, and lead whorls,
Great video. Good to see you back in the mud! 🤣. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks mate, got next week off so I’ll be out again 😉

It really does work though! I did this a lot last year (you’ll see it in my last winter videos! 😂).
Weirdly, everyone was doing it last year - even me - because it was the in-thing. This year I haven't seen it done once 🤷♂️

I think your loom weight is an early spindle whorl
At 7 to 8 minutes I’d say a little clog clasp.
Thanks for watching and great ID, I wondered if it was more of a clasp than a strap end, I said the wrong word 😅
Put socks over your boots it help x
@@catherineellis7347 it definitely does! I usually do, I just didn’t think it would be that sticky 🫣😅 thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Farmers used to plow old clothes into the ground as fertiliser so after the fabric rots away we're left with the buttons to dig up 😂 pesky farmers lol
