I had to laugh. You very often say, “Oh, this sounds really big,” and you pull a 4 oz fishing weight out of the scoop. This time you said it and pulled out a beach chair. I died! I do believe that is the biggest thing I’ve ever seen you pull. I really enjoy your commentary.
Haha! Years ago, a kid was following me around in the water and I found a huge target. I told him "There's no way I'm digging this up. It sounds like a 15 foot pole!" He said, "If you dig it up, and it's a 15 foot pole, I'll take it up to the trash cans" (the trash cans were about a quarter of a mile away). It ended up being a 15 foot pole!!! hahaha You better believe I let him drag that huge thing all the way down the beach!!! 😂
I love your videos. My hubby passed away this Sept and I would love to metal detect. Maybe someday it will be in my budget, as you have given me the fever. Thanks for the entertainment.
Hey shawn I am from Florida I lived in South Miami and Gainesville I presently live out in Las Vegas I've been laying on my couch for the last 4 days with an absolutely horrible flu and watching your videos is so relaxing and makes me feel so much better like no other videos do love your character and your content don't change a thing
Love those freakin' pull-tabs -- or at least the way you say it. Always makes me smile. I think your mystery item is an escutcheon from a chest. Another terrific video that made my day.
Another fun hunt! Minnesota is not year round, so the hunts are in thrift stores 😅. Last time was a $75 pair of Pandora earrings for $2.99. Still a fun hunting find! Love the pizza pin! Keep on and keep warm! 😊♥️👍
It was 43 here in Temple Terrace this morning and I love it! No humidity is my favorite. Love your channel, it’s always very enjoyable and entertaining. Take care, stay safe and warm.
Thank you for the detailed explanation of your beach detecting techniques. This information is invaluable for those of us new to the hobby. I appreciate you taking the time to share your expertise.
I had to chuckle… at the beginning you mentioned that it was getting colder… and then your shadow on the water, with your headphones and camera, made it look like you were wearing one of those big fuzzy Russian winter hats…. Haha. 🤣 Thanks for the video. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Good morning from Winnipeg, Canada. A balmy -5 C ( 23 F ) and snowing. That was pretty rough conditions, but pretty cool finds ! At least you got one good ring !
That first thing looks like the part that fits on top of a padlock device, the slot is for the hook where you padlock it. 🔓 A cold, dreary day but someone's got to do it, while we sit comfy in our chairs watching!😜
The amount of time I spend watching water, just water, riveted to the screen waiting for you to bring the scoop up is immeasurable. Your editing is getting seamless, and I am here for it. More hidden beaches!!
I admit that along by the first pliers I started dreading you'd find the bones of the fisherman next, and with every new find my fear only grew - when you got to the chair and the keys I was on my toes who knew detecting videos could be thrillers too!
Haha! It's one of my fears with metal detecting!! When I hunt peoples yards, I'm always afraid that I'm going to find a dog collar that's still on the dog 😬
😂😂😂 cold , hell i have swam In the ocean in florida on thanksgiving week multiple years and it was warm to my pennsylvania backside .... i find it funny that acclimation makes people think wa temps are cold
I think a short video of ALL the ways you have said freakin' pull tab might be really funny. 😂 Thanks for suiting up to brave the waves. It is definitely NOT warmer here in MN!
Lol "cold front, time to put the wet suit on" 😂 come to -20°C in Canadá, they'll show a cold front.. trying to move somewhere warm. Tha k you for cleaning the ocean in all of your vids though, need more of that in general
I’ve watched several of your videos and every time, that is every time, you shake that scoop in the water then lift it up to see into it, I feel like ducking so that edge doesn’t hit me in the face. Haven’t been hurt yet, but I’m not counting it out.
The first piece look like a hasp or part of the locking mechanism to a gate/fence? Maybe it was in the tackle box. Or someone on a boat dump a bunch of stuff in the water long ago.
I would love to see a video of you hunting Money Beach in the FL keys. It’s at mile marker 75. A Spanish galleon wrecked there in 1733 and occasionally silver coins wash up. I spent half an hour there a couple of days go (didn’t have much time. I hade a flight to catch). I found lots of old beer cans. The kind with the pull off tabs so I don’t think anyone has been hunting it lately.
Good morning from Lexington, Ky. Chilly this morning, but warming to 55. Love the NY pizza pin find because it's unexpected. You never know about the Pandora ring, depending on the year, whether the stones are real diamonds or not.
Woo! Love the pliers! And the pizza pin! Those are the best finds for me. If anyone figures out what that giant thing is, I hope they comment! I'm curious. Great video
Zinc is a sacrificial metal. Zinc anodes are attached to pipelines to draw away electrolysis thus protecting longevity of the pipelines. Poor choice for coinage.
My wife and I love watching your videos. We are planning a trip to Fort Walton next spring and I want to start metal detecting. I have looked at the Nokta Legend Next Generation and the Manticore. What would be your suggestion for a first timer?
Thanks, I bought a Xterra Elite from Digging It Detectors, awesome store and they treated me like gold! Question, what do you do with your car keys? Thanks...
There's a huge difference between the cheap wetsuits on amazon and quality wetsuits like Henderson. I'd suggest owning a 3mm and a 7mm. Both full length
@DetectFlorida I have an NRS Triton Extreme dry suit from whitewater kayak days, but that's rather bulky and more "extreme" than I think I need to be for Beach water detecting. I'll look into the Henderson suits, thanks!
my friend I greet you, I watch all your videos very interesting, please tell me I also have a metal detector Deus 2, do you use a filter caps when searching for gold? and at what speed do you walk on the beach?
I'm curious what settings you are using on your Manticore? I live on the east coast, Connecticut, and when I do salt water detecting I cannot get the manticore to not be noisy and falsing a bunch. I have my sensitivity at 21. The machine is quiet in fresh water. When I do get on a target I hear it, but I always wonder with all the chattering I get if I'm missing some faint signals. Thanks in advance!
Thank you!! I know my limits out there, and I make sure I stay well within them. I don't want to end up on the news for anything other than finding something amazing!
It was just a prototype made out of aluminum. I didn't think that it would last. I make the shafts out of all carbon fiber now(and have sold hundreds of them!) and haven't had a single issue!

@ That’s amazing. I am glad you held him to his word that would have been a sight to see - you digging the hole and him dragging it down the beach!
Okay the New York Pizza badge was a pretty good find, might not be valuable but that's so cool. 🤣
I love it, cause there's nothing like good NY pizza. :)
I love your videos. My hubby passed away this Sept and I would love to metal detect. Maybe someday it will be in my budget, as you have given me the fever. Thanks for the entertainment.
Thank you for your videos. You’re getting your exercise today with all of those waves. You are appreciated for your positive attitude.

NY Pizza……nothing like it!!👍🏼💯
I’ve been following you for a year, and just realized, I wasn’t subscribed! So, I did, subscribe today❣️👍🤞🤗
Haha thank you!!!
Even a cold day at the beach is a great day at the beach! Cool stuff. Always enjoy it. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving…
Thank you!! You as well!!!
WOW that's cool and cold. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🦃🦃🦃
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!!

I’m flying in to Punta Gorda tomorrow. If I see you on the beach I’ll stop to say ‘Hi’

Thanks for the video. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Its great to see the manticore used under water so much .its encouraging .
It's held up incredibly well! I don't think my excals have even gone this long without needing service. I can't recommend the manticore enough
Thanks for another great video for my morning coffee!
Good morning from Winnipeg, Canada. A balmy -5 C ( 23 F ) and snowing. That was pretty rough conditions, but pretty cool finds ! At least you got one good ring !
Break out the cod liver oil!
a beach chair??? too funny
Nice rewards for cleaning up the beach.
43° over here on the East Coast this morning. 🥶
That first thing looks like the part that fits on top of a padlock device, the slot is for the hook where you padlock it. 🔓
A cold, dreary day but someone's got to do it, while we sit comfy in our chairs watching!😜
Great hunt Shawn congrats on the silver ring 👊👊👊
Thank you!
Latch to a treasure chest!!! hopefully 🙂

Thank you!!!
Have a blessed Thanksgiving Shawn!
You as well! Thank you!
I wore a wetsuit this time of year myself ❤
Great video, sad to see the saltwater rash in those bushes.
I admit that along by the first pliers I started dreading you'd find the bones of the fisherman next, and with every new find my fear only grew - when you got to the chair and the keys I was on my toes who knew detecting videos could be thrillers too!

“Freaking Beach Chair”
Mystery item is a hasp off of a pirate's chest full of gold. 😅
Great job, Shawn ! As always, thank you for your videos.
Philip- Ohio
Thank you!
Shawn, good video. Thanks for sharing. I am amazed that you weren't taken out to sea.😂😂season. Silver cleans up well with toothpaste.
Good luck Mr Shawn God bless 🙌 🙏
You need a trip to Australia's east coast when your weather turns colder. There are plenty of tourist spots to hunt.
😂😂😂 cold , hell i have swam In the ocean in florida on thanksgiving week multiple years and it was warm to my pennsylvania backside .... i find it funny that acclimation makes people think wa temps are cold
We have family in from Indiana, and we're gonna try Siesta Beach Tuesday. Hope it warms up a bit more. My choice would be Chicago Pizza! 😂🍕
I think a short video of ALL the ways you have said freakin' pull tab might be really funny. 😂 Thanks for suiting up to brave the waves. It is definitely NOT warmer here in MN!
I always go to beach with a pocket of change to leave just so you guys find something. )
He said nickels sound like gold rings. LOL
Lol "cold front, time to put the wet suit on" 😂 come to -20°C in Canadá, they'll show a cold front.. trying to move somewhere warm.
Tha k you for cleaning the ocean in all of your vids though, need more of that in general
You make me laugh real hard saying its cold in Florida 😂😂😂😂
Haha its all relative!!! ;)
Wayne from alberta, canada. Keep finding the mystery stuff in the ocean. Love your show
61 here in Wellington, Fl this morning. ❤❤ You found some crazy stuff today. I think I’ll go for some NY Pizza today.😀
Always a pleasure to watch your videos😊
Thank you!!!! :)
28 degrees out and 2 inches of snow with winds here today in Wyoming. So...your doing good! Lol
Yeahhhh I think I'll stay here lol
I’ve watched several of your videos and every time, that is every time, you shake that scoop in the water then lift it up to see into it, I feel like ducking so that edge doesn’t hit me in the face. Haven’t been hurt yet, but I’m not counting it out.
Good morning budy from Greenwood NY 37° Cloudy lite rain
Let's find some gold today
Thanks sean for the adventure. 🇨🇦
Enjoy your channel. Thank you for sharing.
It's a Beach Chair 😂
Great video! Coins and rings are becoming harder to find these days.
No kidding! Its been tough out there lately
Your low water temp is my average water temp up here 😂
The first piece look like a hasp or part of the locking mechanism to a gate/fence? Maybe it was in the tackle box. Or someone on a boat dump a bunch of stuff in the water long ago.
Wow, that was eventful! LOL I enjoy your videos, may God bless you and your family, Shawn. :)
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your story. It was enjoyable to watch…

Hi from Atlanta Tx
Great content! Congrats on your finds.
Got my “freakin pull tab “ Tshirt last week / thank you!!
Fun day at the beach 😊
I love it!! Thank you!!
Challenging conditions out there... we are moving into summer down south while you guys are moving into winter...
I have a condo a few blocks from that beach!
Thank you for introducing me to the hobby. Getting chilly in S Florida. What wetsuit do you recommend?
I recommend a Henderson 3mm full wetsuit for Florida water hunting. I almost never need anything thicker
@@DetectFlorida Thank you!!
Love those freakin pull tabs!! 😅
Not meeeee!!! ;)
Greetings from Tuscany 😊.
Woo! Love the pliers! And the pizza pin! Those are the best finds for me. If anyone figures out what that giant thing is, I hope they comment! I'm curious. Great video
Thanks, I needed a break from winning...
swear to god i was swinging my stick at that beach yesterday. found a dime at the boardwalk entrance where the sand starts
Sure is chilly 45 here in Central Florida.
Zinc is a sacrificial metal. Zinc anodes are attached to pipelines to draw away electrolysis thus protecting longevity of the pipelines.
Poor choice for coinage.
Pennies are a sacrificial throw away coin. LOL
😊😊😊🥰
I always enjoy your videos and learn stuff as well. Why/how does stuff end up on the outside of the scoop by the handle. Lol
It's very strange, but it happens sometimes!
found a few crusty pennies. ,crusty quarter. ,brass boat cleat. lead plates , and rusty junk. and plain junk. have a good day
Be sure you save your tapes and maybe you can sell them By the pound for crafting purposes.it’s new fashion statement 550TX
My wife and I love watching your videos. We are planning a trip to Fort Walton next spring and I want to start metal detecting. I have looked at the Nokta Legend Next Generation and the Manticore. What would be your suggestion for a first timer?
The Legend is a good intermediate level machine. While it works in the saltwater, the Manticore is a far superior machine if you can afford it
The first big "piece" looked like a latch off a footlocker?
Could be a latch to an artillery box if there is a serial number
Could also be a foot locker clasp, ow that I look at it again
SYRACUSE NY ….HIGH TEMP 37 freezing rain LOL
I'll be up there in a few weeks! 🥶
Just a suggestion, could you mic the metal detector so we can hear what you hear?
I wish I could, but because I hunt deeper in the water, I have to run headphones. Using a mic with the gopro makes the gopro not waterproof :(
nope in maine! cold and beautiful! not a cloud in the sky!
🍕😂👌
have you ever scooped a Junonia? that’s pretty rare too
Only fragments. I'm always looking!
Thanks, I bought a Xterra Elite from Digging It Detectors, awesome store and they treated me like gold! Question, what do you do with your car keys? Thanks...
Awesome!! That's a great machine. I have a locking truck bed cover, and I lock my keys in my bed, and take the bed cover key with me
What wetsuits would you recommend for Lake Erie?
There's a huge difference between the cheap wetsuits on amazon and quality wetsuits like Henderson. I'd suggest owning a 3mm and a 7mm. Both full length
@DetectFlorida I have an NRS Triton Extreme dry suit from whitewater kayak days, but that's rather bulky and more "extreme" than I think I need to be for Beach water detecting. I'll look into the Henderson suits, thanks!
Looks like somebody flipped their kayak
my friend I greet you, I watch all your videos very interesting, please tell me I also have a metal detector Deus 2, do you use a filter caps when searching for gold? and at what speed do you walk on the beach?
I am from Russia, I dig on the Black Sea
I normally move pretty quickly when I detect. I slow down when I find an area that is producing heavier targets.
@@DetectFlorida I meant what is the response speed on the metal detector?
I love it when you find something unusual too bad you couldn’t tally up the pull tabs at the end of the year
I was actually thinking a few days ago that once January 1st comes around, I’ll start keeping track of how many I find 😂
@ that’s awesome
aka Margo K
your first find is a clasp to an old trunk looks like it.....
Looks like a latch to a chest
First find looks like part of a lock hasp..
Hi, I'll be in Orlando in January, could you recommend some good beaches to metal detecting. Thanks.
Orlando is a good drive from any beaches. I'd give Daytona a try
Your sensitivity is wayyyyyyyy too high. I run a slightly modified version of Surf and Seawater with sensitivity at 15-16
That ‘thing’ looked like a latch… hold it vertical.??🤷♀️
What beach you at
Come metal detect in Iowa waters this time of year. We can see how "uncomfortable" you are lol
That's a harddddd pass from me!!! lol
An old mom of 8 here who worries about you in rough water without a buddy with you.
Thank you!! I know my limits out there, and I make sure I stay well within them. I don't want to end up on the news for anything other than finding something amazing!
You not worried for sharks in unclear water like that?
Not at all. I've been bumped by one before, but it's incredibly rare that they bother anyone. They're always there, but they leave you alone
Sorry about your shaft breaking in the other video!
It was just a prototype made out of aluminum. I didn't think that it would last. I make the shafts out of all carbon fiber now(and have sold hundreds of them!) and haven't had a single issue!
Where did you get your shovel scoop? Glory to GOD!
