Minelab's Manticore M8 Coil and Nokta's Accupoint in Action Together - How Did They Do?

- This was my first real hunt with the Minelab M8 search coil and I also received the Nokta Accupoint. I went to a permission that has been hit pretty hard over the years but the M8 didn't disappoint. Its a great coil for coin shooting and for getting into those tight spaces. The Accupoint did really well too. This hunt was for testing purposes but I did manage to find a few things.

I get weird 98's 97's with my manticore, they don't always sound the best and I end up chasing big iron or square nails
There is the hint, they don't always sound the best. Learn the tones of that machine and you the junk you dig will decrease significantly but you have to put the time on the machine.

Nice hunt Scott. I don’t run either Nokta or Minelab though. Have a buddy here that is turning in his Manticore. Has had problems with it. He is switching over to the XPD2.
There is nothing wrong with turning to a D2 :-) but I do like the Manticore for certain scenarios.

Thanks man, when you do get it, I'd be curious if you could test it in single frequency and give me your thoughts. I did some tests yesterday and got some really strange results. I left with the opinion that you really want to run it in Multi-IQ vs single.

Nickels that usually fall in the mid 20s were hitting in the 80s, way up averaging for some reason. I usually don't share out links before my Patreon members see them but I have total respect for the way you look at these machines so check it out. I just uploaded the video today but haven't share it. I think you will find those results interesting/strange. At ~13:28 I ran those targets in Multi-IQ as well, to compare. @@MentalMetal I went ahead and air tested some nickels in single frequency, and they are all IDing correctly with the M8. Does yours airtest correctly? Also, how mineralized is your ground? It looks a little reddish to me. Difficult ground + edge of detection + single frequency could definitely produce TID problems. If your ground is mild, then I would suspect something might be wrong on the software level. If there was something physically wrong with the coil, I'd imagine it would do poorly in Multi-IQ as well. Definitely a bit puzzling overall. It's not impossible Minelab needs to release an update to fix the TIDs for single frequency w/ M8 coil, and they decided to release the coil before the update under the assumption 99% of people would use Multi-IQ exclusively.
No my ground isn't that bad, but I'll try the air tests again and see where it is. Totally agree on the update though, that would be nice. I wish they would update the 900 as well. Thanks for giving it a look and running some tests. Maybe mine is jacked up. We shall see.
