To demo the Seymour Duncan Dimebucker, I had write a track that was in the style of Dimebag Darrell. The Dimebucker is an acquired taste but I like it. It's based on the old Bill Lawrence Pickups that Dimebag used to use. It's got a really satisfying chunk to it that makes you feel like you can take on the world. It's a little scooped in the mids, with boosted highs and lows and its very high output. If you you're after a modern Misha Mansoor Djent tone, then this probably isn't for for you. But, If you want a slightly old skool sound this is pretty cool!
Thanks for watching :)

If i were blindfolded and asked to listen to this, I'd be convinced it was a track that didn't make the cut to Vulgar Display of Power.
Well done, sir.
Troy Hubert Many thanks Troy! :)
Agreed!
Love it!
Thanks dude! :)
you're good to Rob.
@ Rob Scallon and Pete Cottrell ,You and Pete are both so awesome! you guys are such an inspiration to me, Keep on!
They both wear a beanie type deal, I wonder if they are brothers secretly? lol
Except Rob is gay
That is some straight up Dimebag style riffing my friend. Nice work.
bsdraven Thanks! :)
It's like you found an obscure Pantera song and covered it. Well done captured the tone and vibe perfectly.
planetcaravan03 Thanks! :)
dude seriously sick...dime would be proud
+Scott Thomas Thanks! :)
everytime i missed my dad i come to watch this video
why??
(again)when you release this video at that time my dad was rushed to hospital because (later) diagnosed a Bladder Cancer stage 3
and i watch this while waiting him on outside ICU :')
Wow!!! you wrote that? when I first saw the video I was trying to figure out what Pantera song you were playing cause it sounds totally like something Dimebag would play. Really awesome video! and I have this pickup in one of my guitars and I would highly recommend it.
+Brendan Esau Thanks! :)
Dime should be proud such a good demo, the riffs and licks match Dime's songwriting pretty well rock on mate.
No words can describe the scale of epicness this portrays ! So beast man !
+bakerXderek Thanks! :)
I honestly think you need to send this to Vinnie, Rex and Phil as a tribute to Dime. I KNOW that Dime, being the humble guy that he was, would be honoured with this tribute to him.
Really really good man!
I was seeing this now 2023 and thought, Vinnie, what ? :(
Awesome...
Thanks! :)
+Pete Cottrell Do you ever collab with singers on songs man?
man likes good music, whats there to be confused of? :)
My God this drum change at like 2:26 get's me all the time. I just have to bang my head. Great stuff man.
***** I try to listen to this normally but when drum beat changes i loose my shit. It's beastly.
Sounds like Pantera riff! Perfect!
REMINDS ME OF SOMETHING OFF pantera reinventing the steel
yeah, the opening riffs is really Primal Concrete Sledge-ish! :D and the solo part with the reverb... GOD DAMN IT! :D
I keep coming back to listen to this after 9 years.
This is awesome! You need to see about sending this to Phil and see if he would be up to laying down some vocals. Truly amazing tone and playing.
OH MY GOD, Pete that is fucking amazing. Dude I started head banging as soon as it started. the riffs and that solo, dude that solo was so dime man. My beanie was protecting my face from melting off man cause I head banging so hard. That is the best piece of art I have ever heard. Keep up the amazing work buddy.
Thanks! My Beanie tried to eat my face! :)
Seriously?! There needs to be a Love button for this, Like don't cut it! Awesome!
MrRamcam13 Thanks! :)
I had a Dimebucker at one time. I guess it's because I love Pantera and I'm from Texas. I thought it had too much treble. My personal preference is an sh-4 or EMG 81. I've seen your videos. You make absolute shit sound awesome. What do they put in the water up there in England? Y'all invented metal after all. Two of my favorite bands are Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. Put out more videos. I'll be watching.
That opening riff! Holy shit that sounded awesome!
I wish Pantera had a song with that main killer riff... great job!
8 years and i still love this fking song!
No puedo dejar de escuchar estos riff los repito una y otra vez, simplemente asombroso🤘
5 years later and this still absolutely shreds. Love this song, hope Pete keeps making music for many more years to come lol
As a fan of Dimebag (and also someone waiting patiently-ish for my mailman to deliver my dimebucker and 59)...
You just earned a new subscriber! Dime and Vinnie are looking upon you and smiling ear to ear. Well fucking done, sir. Well fucking done. 🤘🎸
How do you like the pickup combo?
Yeah if I didn't know better I'd say it's dime to. You did a good job mimicking his style, thumbs up for sure.
What happened pete did dime suddenly take control of your hands? :o
Spooks Man Plays I think he may have ha rip the king of metal
This is an absolutely perfect tribute to Dime, nailed it on the sound, could be the man himself.
It is wonderful!
This is a PANTERA song of a modern version!
yuuji uenox Thanks! :)
I think Dime would definitely be proud dude! You're an awesome guitarist. This baby is going in the bridge of my next single humbucker Fender Partscaster. Sounds like it would be great for any kind of metal or hard rock. I'm plugging straight into a Single Recto, which is my holy grail head into a Mesa Traditional 4x12 with Celestion G12K-100 speakers (best speakers ever imo). I just use an analog Boss Ch-1 chorus, an ISP Decimator II Noise Reduction pedal (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) and a 10 band MXR eq in the loop. Cables are all Mogami/Neutrik. Strings are D'Addario 11-56. Very Versatile strings that go from metal to jazz to blues to country. Love em. I can't wait to try this Duncan Pickup. If it works well for the Strat then I'll put it in the mahogany Warmoth V with reverse hockey stick neck I plan on buiding.
Just wanted to hear the Dimebuckers. This song is what they are made for. Awesome.
Thanks! :)
I find that the Dimebucker is great for guitars that have a really huge midrange that needs to be tamed. I have one in the bridge of a Washburn strat style and found it's tamed the crazy mids in that guitar. Great tune my friend.
Ryan Embree Thanks :)
Amazing song, bought the Dimebucker and a DMT Dimetime after listening to this. And also bought the tabs and the backing track on Bandcamp. Brilliant Pete. Greetings from Colombia
+Diego Felipe Barrero Hey thanks for watching and enjoy the Tab! Would love to see a cover :)

Very Panther as did the virtuous Dimebag Darrell a monster of the guitar and the heavy yeites
Awesome job sir!!! You nailed it w/ the riffs and solo.

Great composition man!
You really captures some Dime-esque stylings while keeping it your own.
And love the title.
Chris Pedersen Thanks! The title is from something his girlfriend Rita Haney said in an interview and seemed appropriate :)
Once again, Pete you nailed it! That solo is just absolutely brutal/the overall tone and structure of this piece captures his tone 100%. Damn good!

Its like Im listening to new Dime tunes but Im not, but I am lol You made this sound like an exact reincarnation of what he would do in a song. Great job Pete!
That was fucking sick! Definitely pays tribute to Dime!
