Man, there's so many great Trivium riffs to be included in just one video Like a Sword over Damocles, What the Dead Men Say, Entrance of Conflagration, Becoming the Dragon, Caustic Are the Ties that Bind, Forsake not the Dream, The Phalanx, Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis, Shogun, Ascendancy, Declaration... That's just from the top of my head. Amazing plugins, amazing playing as always, Pete!
their best album by far followed by shogun my opinion: 1 in waves 2 shogun 3 ember 4 vengeance 5 ascendancy 6 silence 7 sin 8 dragon 9 crusade 10 wtdms
Down from the sky was the first song I learned to play when I got my first 7 string. The breakdown riff just after the part you played was the reason. Great video dude 🤘
Been one of my top 5 since their 1st album. A shining beacon in a dark and stormy teenage life. It says a lot when I can recognize each and every riff from the very first note lol
Tbf, choosing just 12 is really tough. Theyre such consistent riff machines! For me its probably: 1. Ascendancy (the middle section riff) 2. Rain 3. Insurrection 4. In Waves (later major lift riff) 5. Caustic are the ties that bind (main riff) 6. Entrance of the Conflagration 7. Like Callisto (chorus riff) 8. Tread the floods 9. The crusade (pick any riff) 10. Ember to inferno 11. Strife 12. Shattering the skies Honourable mentions: Built to fall, Throes of Perdition, The deceived, Beyond Oblivion Also new Trivium is still great, but havent spent as much time with it, so the riffs just arent as iconic to me as these ones!
For me i love the riff in the song rain at breakdown part Pull harder on the string of your martyr at breakdown part And the deceive break down part What the dead men say intro part
Absolutely love Trivium! Seen them live multiple times. Not a fan of their current tone. Their song writing just keeps getting better. But the past two albums mixing and their tones just are not what they used to be... 😔
the Pre-chorus/chorus riffs in Forsake not The Dream live rent free in my head. corey and matt are Riff factories and they very rarely have a lame riff in their catalog.
I'm new to guitar plug-ins and was wondering about latency? I bought this suite and have a delay when using the software. It sounds awesome but using it in real time looks to be a problem. I'm using the lowest sampling but at 3ms it is noticable.
You’ll need to lower the buffer size (sometimes referred to as samples) of your interface as much as possible. Which interface are you using? I usually have mine set to 32 or 64 :)
I am shocked you went with Built to Fall rather than Caustic Are The Ties That Bind but to each their own. Also, Shogun's title track got snubbed? Missed opportunity. Bridge and solo section has some of the best riffs in their discography. They do have some fantastic albums, makes it hard to pick.
The Verse Riff from "Into the mouth of Hell we march", the Pre-Chorus of "At the end of this war", the opening riff of Deadmen, the first AND second verse riff from "Torn between Scylla and Charybdis" How about you just continue the list until you have a video with just every riff they ever wrote?

Thanks to Bogren Digital for sponsoring this video. Which Trivium riff is your favourite?
Stoked you chose Built to Fall as one of your favs - that is an underrated Trivium riff/song for sure!
The “And Sadness Will Sear” pull 🔥
That riff has always been one of my favourites from Trivium :)
@@peteplaysmusic haven't heard it in a while, thanks for reminding me. Crazy riff

Amazing plugins, amazing playing as always, Pete!
This album reaffirms my belief that the In Waves album is incredible. Arguably underrated.
I will admit, I didn't realise how good it was until making this list. Ascendancy and Shogun were always my favourites :)
In waves is their second best album IMO, right after shogun!

I definitely need a part two of this series! Too many Trivium riffs to choose from!
Keep rocking Pete! 🤘🏻
The rhythm part during the solo section of Entrance of the Conflagration has always gone just SO hard in my opinion.
That song kicks ass
Love the Crusade. Great album.
That whole song is fucking deadly
I really love the riffs in Shogun (the song, but the whole album rips), and I've always thought Caustic are the Ties That Bind has some wild riffs
"Like light to the flies" is still my fav 🔥
I’ve always been a sucker for the main riff on The Defiant
Think that's Matt's own fav Trivium riff lmao
The wretchedness inside love that main harmonic minor riff on the low G# string.
More Crusade era riffs needed, that shit slaps
The entirety of The Crusade (the song) is riff heaven
The Crusade, Shogun and Ember to Inferno houses all of my favorite Trivium riffs.
My favorite Trivium's riffs is "caustic are the Ties that bind"..
I recommend this song if u never listen to it, at least once
Inception Of The End is one of the best riffs ever!
Great riff selection, ideal for people who just discovered the band and their blend of sounds !
If anyone hasn’t seen Matt’s lesson on gibson channel…you’re missing out
Down from the sky was the first song I learned to play when I got my first 7 string. The breakdown riff just after the part you played was the reason. Great video dude 🤘
Light to Flies will always be their best to me 🤘🏻
Condensing Triviums best riffs into a 5min video is no mean feat!! Fricken awesome video and the Bogren stuff seems like the real deal!
Trivium goated
The video that brought me into Trivium and now I'm a big, big fan of the album "Ascendency"
Been one of my top 5 since their 1st album. A shining beacon in a dark and stormy teenage life.
It says a lot when I can recognize each and every riff from the very first note lol
I love Thrown into the Fire.
But my favorite one has to be Ascendancy, after the 2nd chorus. Gets me EVERYTIME.
Great video.
Good list man! Court of the Dragon have really good riffs too
Throes of perdition has always been my fav song by them, and when that DIIIIIE breakdown comes, I get an urge to fistsmash a wall
Absolutely gorgeous tone, big fan
Part Two needed!
I always thought that I'm the only one who loved the chord progression in "and sadness will sear". Nice that it made it on the list!
In Waves is my favourite so thanks for including it. And Sadness Will Sear was probably the best part of your video, sounded amazing.
One of my fav UA-camrs doing a riff collection of one of my fav bands. Awesome video Pete 🤘. Surely needs a part 2 😎
Thanks! :)
12 best riffs. Pick any part of the Shogun album and you're already there.
We need more vids like this.Great job. Most of trivium riffs are epic.
And Sadness Will Sear will always be my fav Trivium song, nice to see it included here :)
Jesus that rain into like light to the flies was so seemless i mean all the transitions were but like god damn it actually worked ao perfectly
I know I sound like a Trivium “noob” but the lead in and main riff to strife just slays me every time
So much great riffs from Trivium, i love them ! Great demo of these new plugins Pete 🤘🤘
Love to see Trivium content, was a little Ascendancy/In Waves heavy, but just means we need a part two!
Excelente, amigo, saludos desde Colombia-Sur América.
Riffs for absolute days!
I love the .Strandberg - it looks and sounds great!
Your timing is amazing, I just started listening to Trivium again after a really long time lol
sounds like the album.... flipping amazing!
Strife clearly my favorite
Never disappointed when I visit this channel
Trivium is a melting pot of so many metal genres. Part of why they're my favorite band.
Trivium have so many great guitar riffs, but one of my favorites has always been “Kirisute Gomen”. So fast and thrashy.
Trivium have a massive amount of great riffs🤘
Shogun (like the whole album) is an absolut masterpiece
Never fail to impress pete, loved it 🤘🏼😈🤘🏼🏴
Tbf, choosing just 12 is really tough. Theyre such consistent riff machines!
For me its probably:
1. Ascendancy (the middle section riff)
2. Rain

Also new Trivium is still great, but havent spent as much time with it, so the riffs just arent as iconic to me as these ones!
Nice tone
The comments make me so happy knowing people arent happy with just 12. Theyve got so many tasty riffs
For me i love the riff in the song rain at breakdown part
Pull harder on the string of your martyr at breakdown part
And the deceive break down part
What the dead men say intro part
Vengeance - their most underrated song imo!!!
I think you just filmed yourself miming guitar and used the official instrumental versions of the songs. They're too perfect!
Haha, they're far from perfect but I appreciate it, thank you! :)
@IAMSCOOT why you lying?? 😂
I never got into Trivium, just never rated the songs, but there were always some quality riffs in there.
Shogun and Throes are so goated
Maybe just because it's ridiculous fun to play, but the intro from Strife has got to be on a part two. Same as The Athenm - wicked riff 🤘
My favourite Trivium riffs are The darkness of my mind , What the dead men say and The Defiant
Very cool🎉🎉🎉
You forgot The Crusade, I guess.
Awesome instrumental
All great choices!! Would have loved to hear something from Vengeance Falls, but all good choices regardless!!
All these riffs are so simple yet so beautiful... thats the sign of true genius!
Awesome!
And now do one with "Best Trivium Solos"
Absolutely love Trivium! Seen them live multiple times.
Not a fan of their current tone. Their song writing just keeps getting better. But the past two albums mixing and their tones just are not what they used to be... 😔
A Crisis of Revelation and Like a Sword over Damocles are the best riffs from their recent albums
I'm simple...
I see Pete, I see Trivium, I click Like.
the Pre-chorus/chorus riffs in Forsake not The Dream live rent free in my head. corey and matt are Riff factories and they very rarely have a lame riff in their catalog.
trivium ❤😊
Throes of Perdition would fit extremely well in a classic Doom map
Yo just in time cuz trivium is my favorite band
This list doesn’t have Into the mouth of hell we march - means it cannot possibly be complete
Difficult to limit to 12! I'll always stan for Trivium. INCEPTION OF THE END that song doesn’t get the credit it deserves!
Drowning in slow motion should be hereeee
First time I heard Inception in my cd player, I lost it.
I'm new to guitar plug-ins and was wondering about latency? I bought this suite and have a delay when using the software. It sounds awesome but using it in real time looks to be a problem. I'm using the lowest sampling but at 3ms it is noticable.

Throes of perdition 🤘🤘🤘
In my opinion Trivium have the bests guitars in The world.
Ahhhhhhhh you missed out my favourite: he who spawned the furies
I can't believe there not one from Of Prometheus and the Crucifix, wich for me is one of the best metal songs ever writen
Shogun destroys all. Fact
Pillars?!
My favorite 3 riffs to play is Built To Fall. Shattering The Skies Above . And Entrance to The Conflagration
this video really could’ve just been a shogun play through and the title would’ve been bang on still 🤷♂️
Insurrection has best riffs out of all Trivium songs.
These are good riffs but definitely not the best 12, there are much moooore!
Best riff „Strife”
where is when all lights are gone😭
The Verse Riff from "Into the mouth of Hell we march", the Pre-Chorus of "At the end of this war", the opening riff of Deadmen, the first AND second verse riff from "Torn between Scylla and Charybdis"
How about you just continue the list until you have a video with just every riff they ever wrote?
torn between scylla and charybdis???????
Shogun???????
Anybody whos a metalhead but somehow has not heard Trivium yet, go listen to Down From The Sky right now!
You could literally make a different video on each album.
You left out forsake not the dream and in the court of the dragon
Forsake not the dream? 😢😢
You forgot "Strife"!
Tuning dude?
Suffocating site 😢
That one is so insane 🤘
But I understand y it's hard rythm wise
Built To Fall - insta dis.
I can't get why it so popular...oh, mb becouse it sound like generic poprock song.
These plugins sound pretty bad tbh.
Besides 90s At the gates and 2000s Opeth everything seems cheap or unmusical to me.
yet you're here!
