The octagonal ring is a GAGA Pit... They have 1 at a camp ground Mum and I go to in Kingston. Here's a description of the game; Gaga is a fast paced, high energy sport played in an octagonal pit. The more players the better! Dubbed a kinder gentler version of dodge ball, the game is played with a soft foam ball, and combines the skills of dodging, striking, running, and jumping, while trying to hit opponents with a ball below the knees.
I absolutely LOVE Hope, was just back there 3 days ago and already missing it. That octagonal put is what the kids use to play a game called 'gagaball' My oldest is in grade 1 and he plays it at school with his friends. You did an amazing job of highlighting Hope❤
I have the same Pandora earrings you are wearing in the intro. :) The game played in that "pit" is my 4th grader grandson's favourite game at school (beside soccer).
Yes, we did move to Hope. We've been living here over 4 years now and it's amazing! We really need to do a follow-up video all about Hope and how great it is. 😁
Great video. Keep up with the great content! Love the map with your logo moving around lol=D I used to live near an airport. My folks are still there. all the homes near the area extra insulation for sound proofing! Maybe homes in Hope do the same? If not surly you could add it to your new home. Since I moved away, when I go back to visit it seems crazy loud. You totally acclimate. Excited for you guys.
Same thoughts as you guys. Hope is a nice town. Locals are very friendly. Close enough to Vancouver. I like the idea of being in the mountains, but still within easy reach of the city. Unfortunately I'm American, so can't live there year round.
We actually moved to Hope this past August and have to say that we absolutely love it. Even with the 2ft of snow we got this winter! ❄️ Luckily it's all melting away now. But yes, we couldn't be happier about our choice to move here.
Yes we moved here in the summer. In fact, we're going to be making a follow up video about living in Hope in the new year to celebrate our first visit 😃
Yeah, it's definitely something you can get used to! Growing up, I (Jay) lived beside a loud, busy highway where trucks were always gearing down, so I don't really notice traffic noise anymore.
As it turns out, we did! Our first trip up there was in the winter, and we did this video: ua-cam.com/video/PrtruKYsCJw/v-deo.html It's pretty beautiful up that way! ⛰️🏕️
Hello! Das ist ok. Wir sprechen nicht sehr gut deutsch.😁 Thank you for watching. We have been told that a lot of visitors from Germany come to Hope to see the Rambo filming sites. We even have a Rambo chainsaw carving in the middle of town!
Lol... what a couple of boring nerds. How about some bar hopping chatting to the locals? Get the real story. Highway 1 going west is a horror story on long weekends and both ways losey Fridays and sundays. Rush hours during the week from Chilliwack on going west is awful.
Hey, give us a shout on the contact form at homearoam.com and let us know some local places to hit up for some excitement. We may be nerds, but we're definitely not boring! :P
@@HomeARoam it gets really cold in that area of bc. And lots of snow in the caribou region. Last blood is the one to watch it’s really really a good good movie. I will look at that place. And see for myself what’s it there for I never looked really only when u guys where talking on my phone. I’ll tell ya 55 years here so I’ll look again enjoy yourself. That area used to get 18 feet of snow and towards macanzie

Thanks! Love the name of the game. Maybe we'll have to play one day.
I played that at summer camp as a kid!!
I miss my old home town. Thanks for this
I lived in Hope 1948 to 1959 by Lake of the Woods. Lot of memories mostly good.
Nice, yeah we really like the town and everyone is so friendly!
Well done ! Good job ! Thanks a lot for sharing Hope along with us...such a lovely place... peace...
Thanks for watching and taking time to comment 😀 We love the small town vibe of Hope
I moved to Hope 10 years ago and love it !
Us too! Such a great town
Beautiful spot. I'd love to live by the mountains some day.

Thanks, you're so kind. Thanks for identifying the game for us, too!
moved to back to hope 2 years ago I love my big yard
We are loving having our own big yard, too!
What is your take on the train noise that they mentioned?
@@ElectricBikeReview the train is maybe 400 meters away from my house. you get used to it i don't even hear it unless one of my kids point it out
It’s a gorgeous town. I’ve only been once and i left part of my heart there ☺️
It's easy to fall in love with this little mountain town nestled in the mountains 😊

I (M) love those earrings! I've had them for years and years.
The original First Blood was filmed there. Love Hope
Yes, they just put up a wood carving to commemorate it downtown :-)
Thanks, you are best of the bests
Thanks! We have since moved to Hope and absolutely LOVE it! It's an awesome community!
Great video guys! I appreciate how open and casual you were. I’d like to visit Hope someday :)
Thanks! Hope you get the chance to visit someday. Lots of great hiking in the area.
First Blood!
Yup! Rambo was filmed in Hope all the way back in the 80's!
So did you end up moving there in the end for the detached house ? I’m also in the same situation

Yeah, I'm sure it's something we'd adapt to, although we might not want to be right beside the tracks :)
Love this
Thanks for watching :-)
Hope is good. Hope has several areas. Living here I think that the Kawkawa Lake area is best to buy a house.
Thanks for the input! That is a beautiful neighborhood 😀

am loving your videos Mel & Jay. I would live in Hope just for the address - wonderful town name.
Thank-you, so glad you're enjoying them! And yes, we think it's the perfect name for a town :)
Nice video
It's a great little town full of heart.
Did you visit the woodcarver peter ryan
Not yet, but we will be sure to check them out. Thanks for the tip!
I definitely vote some kind of fight ring. Mel is totally right! 😂
Excellent visit to this nice little town
Yeah we still have no idea what that thing is for!
Did you end up moving there? I LOVE hope. Haven't been since 2017.

Sure was. There is even a wood carving of him now - new this past summer.
Please make a video at Pemberton meadows....for us
As soon as we can get on the road, we will do our best :-) Thanks for taking the time to watch.

That’s for a hockey in the winter. That round thing with wood around it
it hardly seemed big enough and it's not always cold enough to have outdoor rinks in the winter in this part of BC.
