7:39 I'm sure someone has already mentioned this, but the reason Slakoth outspeed Makuhita is because Vital Throw is a move that always goes last.

I know Emerald has broken RNG so while the shiny odds are naturally 1/8192, sometimes it will be easier or harder to find a shiny depending on where your Shiny frames are.
This can be fixed on emulators as they have clocks that work properly, also at the start he pressed "patch game" Wich I'm pretty sure changes the shiny odds and enables emulator clock presets.

I think it was just a confusion in the wording of the tool. Seems like it was asking for a number to *convert* into a percentage (0.01 gets converted to 1%) but it was simply labeled as "percentage" so a user can tell what that section is used for

As @RyanO11 said, he made the Shiny chance lower. 1 in 8192 is ~0.0122%, which is more than the 0.01% he set.

Tip on beating Brawly: don’t. Lol skip over him and by the time you come back around (since you have to go back to Dewford anyway), you’re way too OP for him. But beat the gym trainers for xp.
Also during my Emerald Nuzlocke, I found an Abra, threw a great ball, and actually caught it. I was so happy until my main two attackers next to Kadabra were shot down with a critical hit right before Lilycove… Had to restart and almost cried after all the grinding I had to do.
One day, someone will do one of these without emulator speed up, which massively changes how long it takes.

A regular shiny chance is 1/8241 chances i think. By choosing a 0.01% percentage, you made that 1/10 000 chances, which is HARDER! Great vid nontheless

@@Crobat7269 every time your Golbat faints it makes the friendship go down. Also if you're playing in Fire Red or Leaf Green you cant evolve it until post game (I don't know what game you had it in)
My only possible assumption as to how 0.01% is an improvement is if the program that generated the rom hack doesn't actually take the value as a percentage, but instead as a decimal, meaning 0.01 is actually 1%

It's possible, as that's a feature of the "Universal Pokémon randomizer". There may be seperate software that can do that though 👍

Slaking loafing turn 1 reason: in Gen 3 only, subs are made during combat rather than at the end of the turn (most noticeable during double battles, and usually negligible in single battles), meaning priority shifts to switching every time there's a KO before the full turn ends. This doesn't affect truant if you defeat a Pokémon normally before the Truant Pokémon is swapped in. However, if the Pokémon that dies faints by hail, sandstorm, poison, leech seed, etc and then a Truant Pokémon is swapped in, the poison damage counts as the "1st turn" of the Truant Pokémon's first turn, making the first turn that the Truant Pokémon tries to attack its second turn by an unfair technicality.
In other words the poison knocking out Vigoroth made priority shift to switching before that turn ended, which was only supposed to apply in double battles. So that turn "ended" the moment Slaking was sent out, causing the GBA counter to wrongly think it was Slaking's second turn, not his first.
Vital throw has negative priority that's why you outsped with slakoth

Shiny Illumise is one of my favorites. She was my first ever shiny, too.
I also like Zangoose, Altaria, Roselia, Metagross, Latias, and Rayquaza.
Siny medicham is the best.I got one on my first playthrough and it carried me more than my starter mudkip

Actually he made his odds almost 1000 times better. The game doesn’t calculate 0.01 as a percentage it calculates it as odds and 0.01 is 1%, so his percentage is 1%. If 0.01 was a percentage as you think then yes he’d had a lot harder time finding shinies yet as you can see he found a shiny slakoth and gulpin both rare Pokémon in their routes which shows he clearly has way better odds which he did. So since his odds were 0.01 aka 1% that makes his shiny odds 1/100 instead of the normal 1/8000.

I think it's pretty easy, just look up the program (ShinyCCGUI) and you will probably find a guide om how to use it.
But don't do that what he did in the video, because he actually decreased his shiny odds (0.01% = 1/10000).
