I remember finding mirage island. I left it right away because I found nothing of use. Didn't know anything about the berry and never used berries or item equips in pokemon games. Makes sense it was hard to find since none of my friends back then got to it. I thought it was just a normal spot in the game.
Dude I loved the rooftop sales. I'd specifically check each time I played for upcoming sales. I didn't realize not many players knew about them though.
They were common knowledge 15 years ago, back when I was still in Primary School. Guidebooks mentioned them & didn't even speak of Pokerus or Shiny Pokemon in those days. Of course the guidebooks kept the Events like Altering Cave's true purpose, The Mystic Ticket, Old Sea Map, & Aurora Ticket secret. These things still became famous even if people forget about them these days. I think 1 of the guidebooks for Ruby & Sapphire may have mentioned the Eon Ticket.
It's kinda sad that they really monetize the pokemon like "to get this pokemon, you need to pay ticket for this one time event, or buy this other game" That kinda defeats the "catch the pokemon in their natural habitat" thing, which still sounds as horrible, but at least it's free This makes the "gotta catch em all" catch phrase be like some random salesman's words
That frontier battlepass preorder.... That hurt my heart. My late little brother pre-ordered Emerald from Toys-R-Us back in the day and was one of his most prized possessions. RIP brother.
The Cave is near Fallarbor Town & behind this guy's house & referred to as the Desert Underpass. If I remember correctly there are Ditto in that cave & like half the stuff in this video it was mentioned in the Emerald Guidebooks.
@@BlazingKhioneus Really? First time I went to the desert, I saw the mirage tower. So I knew where to get it but I only managed to do the bike puzzle once. Every time I've played through since, I try for a few minutes then don't even worry about it. Garbage pokemon anyway. The only good fossil pokemon was Aerodactyl, if you can really call it a fossil pokemon.
I literally knew about every single one of those except for the real life Frontier Pass. The Feebas thing is false. The tiles get randomized every single day and once the internal battery runs try making the clock stop, they will stay where they are until a new save file is created. Yes, you can still get the Eon Ticket today. It was handed out as an e-reader card, so get it or do the "Statistics Swap" with someone who got it legitimately and you can get Latias or Latios on Southern Island.
12:30 A hack has been made to allow the mystery event rewards to be claimed, the video talking about it is a year old now but they said they would be working on improving it. they also fixed/added the altering cave and a couple other events.
To make Feebas more fun, if you mix records with your friends, it sync up your Feebas tiles. Now if one of you finds a Feebas and notes the tile, it'll be valid for the rest of you, but nobody else. Changing the trendy phrase in Dewford also reshuffle the Feebas tiles. Idk if that's all that determines it. I'd assume not, or there'd be a handy dandy Feebas calculator where you put in the trendy phrase and it spits out a list of tile coordinates.
Okay, so I have never been able to go Mirage Island, but I do have a very strange experience regarding it. One time, I was playing my copy of Pokemon Sapphire and I went to go to go see the old man to see if Mirage Island showed up, but before I even got to the door, the old man came out of the house and said "I see it! I can see Mirage Island!" before walking up to my character before the game crashed on me. This only ever happened to me once, I have never been able to recreate it, and I don't know if this has ever happened to anyone else. I know that this sounds crazy and made up, believe me I would think that too, but if it hadn't happened, I wouldn't be talking about it. Has this ever happened to anyone else?
@LeoS No you don't understand. The old man, who should not be able to walk away from where he is, walked out of his house, declared Mirage Island was visable, then proceeded to crash my game by walking into my character.

I will never forget this Pokemon Fanclub or Club thing on that little island where the second arena of hoenn is located, where a person is asking for a combination of words which becomes fashionable. I never was able to beat the combination I made in my first playthrough, which was "TICKLE TICKLE Mudkip".
This was fantastic!! Editing is next level, and couldn't have been happier to see a deep dive of some of the things that make Emerald possibly my favorite Pokemon game of all time.
While the whole 1 in 65k and impossible to guess passwords were kind of ridiculous, the sheer amount of love and secrets put into these games is what really bummed me out about Sun and Moon. It felt like the first game in the series that had almost no exploration or bonus areas to discover.
All this time I thought Mirage Island appears during a certain time of the day/week.... I didn't realized the chances of it appearing is that high cause I've been to Mirage Island multiple times in multiple saves during my childhood...
I forgot all about the bikes in Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. It was cool having to bunny hop or ride fast over certain parts in that one tower to get to the top to fight Rayquaza. Man I miss being a kid and playing all the games for the first time. Gen 3 was my favorite though. Stopped playing for a long time then played Gen 4 and 5 many many years later. Never played Gen 6 or 7 then got Gen 8 when it came out. But I miss the graphics from the old games even though I like the newer graphics the older style is so nostalgic.
Only pokemon games I finished were red, emerald, and omega ruby. I recently tried playing Sun and Moon, but lost interest before I left the first town. The new games have no soul. I'm currently replaying emerald after finishing red again last week.
Emerald is my favorite Pokémon game. I have so many play hours and great memories of my Pokémon Yellow (at least 300 hours) and Crystal (at least 150 hours) days (I still own the cartridges for Diamond and Yellow, despite not having playable Gameboy for these games in over a decade), but something about Ruby just got me. Loved every minute of it. When Emerald came out, it was like my dream came true. I've played the other games since up to Diamond on emulators and loved every second of them (Fire/Leaf, etc.) , but Ruby/Emerald always holds my heart.
i remeber as a child that me and my mom never knew about such pokemon events where you could get tickets for legendary pokemon. Back then i ran around every pokemon game to do everything in hopes to get rare legendary pokemon which is in my opinion very disappointing therefor :^)
I feel you! I live in Finland so I had no chance to legitimately get the gen 3 event legendaries. I wish they had done something similar like with the Johto starters - give us some demanding tasks for example "complete 75% of Hoenn dex" and then get Jirachi :D. Or win all silver symbols to have Celebi/Old sea map. That way it would also feel really rewarding and special to have those rare pokémon.

A few tidbits: -Even today, you CAN obtain Eon Ticket(legally, of course), if you mix records with someone that obtained during past events. You cannot obtain it mixing records with someone that get it for mixing records too. But you can obtain a Eon Ticket (eReader card) and obtain the "seed" for send it to other players. -Jirachi can be obtained in Pokémon Channel, too. Only european version. I already knew all of the info that you put in this video, but great compilation :3
I share your sentiment. I spent hours fishing every tile on that route multiple times because I was determined to get a Feebas to complete my Pokedex. When one finally appeared my happiness was exponential and I captured it. It felt like a huge accomplishment as a kid. 😆 I then evolved it into Milotic and well, the rest is history.
That unused Trainer looks spot on like Kris in a toga with the wind pulling her hair back straight. She looks just like that same hair same color only her pigtails bend and point forward. Kris is the player character from the old Crystal Version. I mean it could be a coincidence but Kris was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw that.
God I remember looking up and trying all kinds of ridiculous things to get event Pokémon in this game. Eventually I learned that I’d have to attend an event to get some of these special items and unfortunately was never able to attend one.
I remember visiting mirage island when I was a kid and being super confused over just finding 1 berry and some wynauts, didn't think much of it untill I tried to go back later...and it wasn't there. no one believed me either
To catch feebas you can actually try fishing 2-3(max) thought chance of its appearance is about 50%. I did catch it like that and believe me, this little detail is a live saver honestly
First feebas was a shiny.. Caught a few on that same tile coz i took FOREVER to find a feebas only after the second feebas i realized the first was shiny.. Had the best personality type as well and evolved it into shiny milotic. Was worth all the time put into it.. Didnt realise the first one i caught was a shiny coz i got so excited and felt relieved to actually get the correct tile...rarest pokemon I've ever caught.
You can go even further with cloning, you can literally just move pokemon in boxes, I was duplicating entire boxes of pokemon holding rare candy, TM's, masterballs ect
Feebas was actually more likely to appear when using the old rod. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the tiles were tied to the cartridge, not the ID- so if you found it in one play through you could start over knowing where to look for it! Thanks for the great video
The old rod is better since encounters are only with one input needed and not random amount like the better rods. The tiles are actually linked to the trending expression also. Making it possible to re randomize them by giving a new trending expression. Also the time needed to get feebas is much lower if you only fish once per tile. Odds are 50% of getting it on one of the six tiles. And a reddit user simulated the process to know what gives the best odds. Fishing 2 times or more on each tile is a bad idea.
The ticket to get Deoxys was also an event item, sadly. Luckily, the rectified that in ORAS, because it's quite frustrating when I'm limited to what's publicly availably simply because my country does not host these events, so I'll never get the 'mons. Don't think I ever found Mirage Island, though I had plenty of times the old dude said it was present.
Wow! That is so funny about febas. This was the last Pokémon I needed to complete the Pokédex, my cousin and I both fished that river for multiple days until he finally got lucky enough to find one and traded it to me 😅. It’s nice to know we were not the only ones having trouble finding it because it was frustrating
I’m so happy I got my hands on an old game shark so I could see all the event islands for myself. It’s really worth it if you can get your hands on one.
you can also clone items in emerald the same way as shown except instead of withdrawing pokemon after saving, instead you just put the item they were holding into your bag then talk to the lady and restart the same way, this works based on the state of your pokemon boxes being saved and then the player inventory being saved when the gap happens not just the party so you can multiply basically anything a pokemon can hold as well as the pokemon themselves ;) ive done it thousands of times, just make sure you dont add anything to the pokemon storage after saving
Actually yes. When he said that I went, Seriously? I had them popping up every now and then and ended up hating it only to find it evolves into Milotic :/
On your bit about gen 3 PRNG, What makes emerald special is it always starts on a null seed (0), so you don't have to set/force/manip a seed to have a predictable encounter table
I knew all of these, also, you CAN get through to the event islands via the pomeg glitches, it's absurdly complex and has a massive chance to, well, corrupt your save file, but it is possible to get to Faraway Island and all other locations via glitches and not hacks.

I remember finding mirage island. I left it right away because I found nothing of use. Didn't know anything about the berry and never used berries or item equips in pokemon games. Makes sense it was hard to find since none of my friends back then got to it. I thought it was just a normal spot in the game.
I found the mirage island once and caught a mew, thought it wasn't a rare thing
"This unused trainer character is found nowhere in the games."
Female character sprite from Crystal version: "Am I a joke to you?"
Everyone knew about them but not many people actually got to see it. We all knew because the good secret base items were sold there.
It's kinda sad that they really monetize the pokemon like "to get this pokemon, you need to pay ticket for this one time event, or buy this other game"
That kinda defeats the "catch the pokemon in their natural habitat" thing, which still sounds as horrible, but at least it's free
This makes the "gotta catch em all" catch phrase be like some random salesman's words
The ‘trainer character’ get used as Latias’s human disguise (or at least the basis) in the manga!
That frontier battlepass preorder.... That hurt my heart. My late little brother pre-ordered Emerald from Toys-R-Us back in the day and was one of his most prized possessions. RIP brother.
The littleroot town theme song will always have a place in my heart I loved this game so much.
Il very nostalgic but sometimes it makes me sad too idk why lol
Surprised he didn't mention how you can get both fossils from Mirage Tower by finding the second one at the end of the cave near the desert.
Hey I'll check that 🤔
The Cave is near Fallarbor Town & behind this guy's house & referred to as the Desert Underpass. If I remember correctly there are Ditto in that cave & like half the stuff in this video it was mentioned in the Emerald Guidebooks.
Duh, the title says facts we didnt know! everyone knows where to get the second fossil, bit we dont know where to get the first one
@@BlazingKhioneus Really? First time I went to the desert, I saw the mirage tower. So I knew where to get it but I only managed to do the bike puzzle once.

Not sure if you knew this based on the video, but you actually can't trade Coliseum Bonus Disc Jirachi into Emerald, only Ruby and Sapphire =)
A few tidbits:
-Even today, you CAN obtain Eon Ticket(legally, of course), if you mix records with someone that obtained during past events.
Ahhhh good old days. Finding that feebas was a pain in the ass.
Lmao that is so freaking true
I share your sentiment. I spent hours fishing every tile on that route multiple times because I was determined to get a Feebas to complete my Pokedex. When one finally appeared my happiness was exponential and I captured it. It felt like a huge accomplishment as a kid. 😆 I then evolved it into Milotic and well, the rest is history.

Finishing the game the first time without rayquaza to hold on the master ball to clone felt so weird 😅

omg my man i havent seen you in a long time and now you poped up in my recomended again, have a great one and awesome video

You’re definitely the human adaptation of Rowlet
The ticket to get Deoxys was also an event item, sadly. Luckily, the rectified that in ORAS, because it's quite frustrating when I'm limited to what's publicly availably simply because my country does not host these events, so I'll never get the 'mons.
Don't think I ever found Mirage Island, though I had plenty of times the old dude said it was present.
You know the Deoxy part, you can just walk to the tablet with the least step instead of remembering the pattern :>

I’ve watched these videos in every Pokémon channel lmao but I really enjoyed it thank you
Man I had a johto team in Emerald because of that safari zone
For the Berry Master's wife's challenge you can also use the phrase "Beautiful Chlorophyll " to get a berry
And once again, contests and their rewards are forgotten.
you can also clone items in emerald the same way as shown except instead of withdrawing pokemon after saving, instead you just put the item they were holding into your bag then talk to the lady and restart the same way, this works based on the state of your pokemon boxes being saved and then the player inventory being saved when the gap happens not just the party so you can multiply basically anything a pokemon can hold as well as the pokemon themselves ;) ive done it thousands of times, just make sure you dont add anything to the pokemon storage after saving
Actually, you can fish feebas with an old rod, you don't need to use the super rod... And that makes the whole process much faster
Actually yes. When he said that I went, Seriously? I had them popping up every now and then and ended up hating it only to find it evolves into Milotic :/
Deoxys is the coolest looking Pokemon, don't @ me

On your bit about gen 3 PRNG,
What makes emerald special is it always starts on a null seed (0), so you don't have to set/force/manip a seed to have a predictable encounter table
When I was a kid I thought you got Deyoxis through the space center

I knew all of these, also, you CAN get through to the event islands via the pomeg glitches, it's absurdly complex and has a massive chance to, well, corrupt your save file, but it is possible to get to Faraway Island and all other locations via glitches and not hacks.
