Just another King Dedede Fantasy Life is my favorite games.Its probably the only game that's ever made me cry and has such a great story,world,combat style,amazing bosses,and characters that you will fall in love with.Fantasy Life is a game made well,and is a great example of what a game should be

kid Icarus uprising may not count as a hidden gem, but I never see it on top 10s and it's like my favorite 3ds game
That game looked really cool but I jus hate touchscreen controls with a passion. I try to get into them and give them a fair shake but touch screen gaming is really bothering me, it wouldn't be such an issue if it was just optional but in so many games they force you to use it or not play the game

I really like Stella Glow and consider it a hidden gem. Great list though.

its ok but it falls flat in a lot of areas. not the worst rpg on the 3ds but not the best but i will say it will probably appeal to those who havent played rpgs on the 3ds that outclass it as its fairly cool overall.
Stella Glow is my favorite game for the 3ds, anyone who hasn't play it NEEDS to.
Oh man, Virtue's Last Reward truly deserves recognition. Multiple ending abuse (more than Undertale), the complexity of puzzles, old and new...really rewarding.
Well Undertale only have three types of endings so it's not a great exemple
you could have mention that 999 (the first of the serie) had five while VLR had like 15

I was there the whole time I find that rude.There r SO many ways to battle in the game,and many different types of items to use to fight depending on ur life.For example,as an archer,u would use a bow.As a paladin,a short sword while wielding a shield.
It's also an extremely different game from Zelda,and in my opinion,better.

Huh guess its a preference thing, both are good games, but I found myself pulled into steamworld heist for its tactical turn based action
Glad to see Shinobi on here. Its a huge love letter to the classic games especially Shinobi 3. Truly a hidden gem.

I'm surprised that Crimson Shroud didn't make it on here. It's a fantastic RPG that combines D&D style gameplay with modern gaming features. Definitely worth a look.

CrossTrash // I disagree. The novelty of the gameplay wears off after 10 hours. I couldn’t continue doing the same things over and over again. I might’ve pushed further if the story was good, but it’s lacking in that department as well. I will say that I think it’s the best Dragon Ball game on handhelds, but that might not say much considering I couldn’t even care to finish it.
Last reward is hella good! do yourself a favor and play 9 hours 9 person 9 doors first and play last reward then play zero escape.

How about Senran Kagura Burst that's Skirting Shadows and Crimson Maidens combined. A fun action game with some fan service added in.
Mecha82 The sequel is essentially the better version IMO, as it fixed a lot of problems of the first game. But I kinda agree. The SK games on 3DS have pretty deep stories.

Some great games on this list. I actually bought shinobi late last week, and you're not wrong about it being a tough game, though not in a cheap way. I'm also looking to pick up Code of Princess. It's just a shame that it never got a physical release in Europe. I guess I'll have to pick up a US copy. Another game that maybe a hidden gem, not that I have it yet, is Sega 3D Classics. It supposed to be great, but Japan got more of these than we did in the west ::(
Thanks Dylan, the only Sega 3D classic I have is Outrun! Brings so much to the game with the 3D effect, looks incredible.

Do you do any Vita lists? That console is pretty heavily ignored by both gamers and Sony themselves, but has tons of gems on it.

A good list. I also think Pilotwings and Shinobi deserve some attention.
Another hints from me:
"Spiderman Edge of Time" is the best Spidey Game on 3DS, it's like in console. It's not perfect, but a nice game.
"Picross 3D Round 2" one the best 3DS games, it's damn addicting and has one of the best Amiibo features.
"Ace Combat Assault Horizon +" I like playing Ace on consoles, it looks and plays awesome and I just really good.
"Wario Ware Gold" is the absolute best version of all Wario Ware games and one of my top 3DS games
Honestly....Crossword Plus is a fantastic game. 1,000's of puzzles and unlockable additional games. Sometimes the classics are just enough fun.

The Legend of Dark Witch 1 & 2. I was pleasantly surprised with these two.
Ever heard of The Denpa Men? It's a cute JRPG series with some similarities to Pokemon, but instead of going into in-game tall grass to find party members, the game uses the AR Camera and generates the creatures called Denpa Men from radio waves around you! I've played through the first game already, and I'm making my way through the sequel.
There are three games in total. The first one is entirely offline but has a great story. The second one has way more features, another great story, and a form of online play. The third one has a couple more modes of online play, and has a similarly awesome story to the first. Not putting any major spoilers so you can discover it for yourself! :)
Yes, they definitely are! They have more content than the first game and I would highly recommend them! :D
hidden gems on the 3ds = most of the anime games on the jp 3ds store. kaitou joker is possibly the best puzzle platformer ive ever played and hero bank 1 and 2 are some great gaming mechanics in an rpg setting. plus magi has a fucking adventure rpg and a sequel to it. other great mentions for those that have one is assassination classroom and lost heroes 2. oh and ive got to give love to the battle fighter boku no hero academia battle for all. and the lost planet set rpg ex troopers. seriously a jp 3ds was the best investment and i really only got it to play mighty action x, all kemn rider and kamen irder traveller senki but the library just keeps growing with fantastic titles.the jp store has some really awesome 3ds games and makes our 3ds store weak in comparision.

Fantasy life is like chill mode kinda reminds me of animal crossing new leaf combined with that FR4 love it every day be playing it never gets old so much to do on there

Valey - I was hoping that by now, announcement of Fantasy Life 2 would have happened and released for the Nintendo 3DS.
This is the first time I've ever seen Shadow Wars mentioned in a 3ds video.

"You take control of a 10 year old school kid named Sohta" ALREADY HOOKED.
I just picked up Shinobi 3D after playing through the other games, and when I unlocked my first Streetpass challenge my jaw hit the floor when I found myself playing as Joe Musashi straight out of Shinobi 1 complete with one hit death. I hear you can unlock this retro difficulty for the rest of the game, and that's a challenge I'd be more than happy to take.

code of princess was a game that really went under the radar imo it had plenty of content single and multiplayer the story was straight forward but engaging at the same time and you could also play as fucking everything thing you see code of princess is worth the prince imo too bad online is dead at least for the 3ds really glad it got a pc port even weaker machines could run it no problem

Most of these games are not hidden at all.
Virtue's Last Reward is wonderful, just not on the 3DS. It has a HUGE save corruption bug. Really sad considering great the game is.

In all honesty I wouldn't call any of these games hidden in my opinion. Normally love your lists and am slightly disappointed! There's always next episode.

Ghost Recon is a MUCH more known series than the etrian series and is on both consoles and handhelds. And considering there are only a few GR games on the system and it's easy to find i would not consider it a hidden gem. Not even close. Fantasy Life is only barely a hidden gem because people didn't buy it. It was advertised and Nintendo made many efforts to show it was made by Level 5 because of Level 5's acheivements.

Ghost Recon might be a well known series, but the 3DS game is a hidden gem that almost no one knows about. Etrian isn't really a hidden gem because most of the people that would love to play it already do.
One thing is well known series, second is this Shadow Wars game. It was made by Xcom developer.
Gameplay itself feels much better than for instance in Fire Emblem series. Even it lacks big and opulent story. Even game itself is shorter than Fire Emblems. Even graphically this game is bad, but what we expect from a 2011 launch game …
So still feels as a better fun than FE, but much much shorter.
I have not played any Etrian tactical game, so I am making connection to a game in same genre, which I played.

Get a cheap New 3DS from eBay. New 3DS with CFW (Arm9HaxLoader+Luma3DS). You'll be playing triple A 3DS titles for free and emulate other games as well. (GB, GBC, GBA, SNES, NES, etc.)
No! Get a switch! Gen if it's not till later. It's new! And there will be great new games on it! Along with how it is also a mobile device so it eliminates the 3ds!
