TBH, drums have never been all that crazy important to me, but since I’ve found El Estepario, I can’t get enough of his videos as well as all of the reactions! I feel like I GET the importance of drums, now! He’s also easy on these old eyes! ❤️❤️❤️ So thankful that I found him before I start losing my marbles! 😊

@@Cryptosifupossible the drummer from dragon force would be elevated due to his talent and how he plays this cover. Some bands don’t rehearse songs any other way than what the know. Because it’s never been introduced with other ideas. Better or not. No one knows how a song would sound if it’s never been heard any other way. That’s why I love ES translation of songs. In his own way as he has zero intention of auditioning for bands. Or does he intend to ever change a way a song is written. He does bring a certain element to every song he does for fresh ideas and entertainment. I have lived through songs remade by other artists and profit from them. As intended. This man is a teacher and shows what talent can be had with hard work a dedication through drumming.
His covers aren't just a drum solo over the original track, he follows a lot of the original, or not the original, but the spirit of the original. He shows off where it makes sense to do so, and goes nuts in a way that doesn't take you out of the originals groove but adds to it, or at least that what i get from it...
So true! I've seen a bunch of drummers in my 7 decades of life but have never seen anyone even close to this cat. His articulation, economy of motion and precision or so on the money...Great stuff!!
I'm a follower of Estepario (also Spanish) and he was a really master during his time in the Spanish band SARATOGA. He is humble, and all his work is based in practice, practice, practice and work. It's GOLD to see people like you, who understands music and the structure of a Songz reacting to the man. Thanks and receive all my respects!!
I love how i can experience El Estepario's skill thru your eyes, knowing you have the technical background to explain to us the crazy things he does and also to just see a guy who is inspired and is just a huge fan, as the rest of us.

The only drummer I know who drums with this timing is Nicko McBrain. But he's not a double bass ace.

I love the way Estepario slays his kit like they owe him money but looks so relaxed doing it.
Also I don't mind him shilling Drumeo. They're an awesome resource even for us that have been drumming for decades. Used them many times myself. Wish I had them as a resource in 1980 when I started playing.
He makes drumming so damn easy, I'm a Retired drummer and I never seen a kid do the things this gentleman can do on a set of drums he's amazing, KEEP GOING AND KEEP DRUMMING MY FRIEND YOUR AWESOME. 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁

It's not like having a drum teacher there, he IS a drum teacher on Drumeo. Just joined them recently.
I thought it was just me as a drum lover who was so impressed with this guy, but seeing other drummers reacting you can get an idea of how big this guy is. and he is good, very good, I would venture to say that he is one of the 5 best today... I grew up listening to The Rush, Yes, Jean Luc-Ponty, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Yngwie Malsmsteen, a lot of heavy metal, jazz, but this guy overcomes many technical barriers in an impressive ways.
There are a couple there you can drop as examples of drummers but still, all excellent bands
In his videos, he plays the songs as if you came to hear the drummer.

Every single time I see him, hear him play I'm inspired, and humbled!!...It's impossible not to feel, and want to hit something with controlled chaos, every time he kills, God mode should be changed to siberiano mode to honor his hard working talent!!..Hard work beats talent, but nothing beats hardworking talent!!....He is the best drummer for his playing, but even better for his great attitude, personality, passion, and how he makes us all better for it!!..The best today, tomorrow, the ffing best ever!!!
The great part about his covers is he stays within the context of the original song throwing in his flare where he can. You literally said the same thing about a minute after I sent this😂
And I also like when he puts a warning statement up there to NOT play like this when he goes full ham on covers to show his chops
So often today people only get amazed at things that are extreme and over the top. Recognising that just playing this song as it was originally designed is extreme and over the top in its own right is enough for me. Man is dirrrrtty good!

Please continue to make these videos, and I will continue to watch them! I'm not trying to blow smoke here, but your musical analysis was fantastic. Even though I just play a musician on TV, I was saying everything you were when I saw his video the first time.
I'm sure DragonForce has heard of him, and if they were to ask him to fill in, they would probably give him a place to do his thing in each song.

The level above 'expert' is called 'god level'. That's what we have here. El Estepario is a savant who just happens to like drumming. Dude would be god level no matter what he chose to do in life.

My man was born with sticks in his hands ! He's a step above most drummers from rock to metal !
If he went live with Dragonforce and played as written, but in turn, given a chance to have a shining solo of his own just the same as they do on guitar, now that would make for an amazing show. Like the 5 guitarists for Alice Cooper having their time to shine all lined up playing in sync and then going each in turn to a solo, then to turn it over to one monstrosity of a drum solo. Best performance I've ever seen=Alice Cooper LIVE!! Did not expect it, actually went to see Motley Crue, but was blown away by the performance of every member of the entire band of Alice Cooper.

Did you notice his stick technique in the ending of the song? His right hand stick is between his pointer and middle finger. He does it a lot if you watch his hands and technique. Pretty crazy.
It is not the only drummer doing that but yeah, not many do it. It has a reason. That grip allows you to use a diferent group of muscles. It means you can rest the arm for a bit while doing that grip, it also helps with very speedy parts. Helps to avoid cramps.

I’ve followed El Estepario for a long time, and this suits who he is. I don’t think he could or even would play this live with DF, unless they asked him to. Aquiles Preister actually has, in my opinion, the best version of this song on UA-cam.
My personal favorite El Estepario drum cover is his Gangnam Style cover. He fits a sick fill in a small empty space before the chorus that blows my mind. I’ve been playing drums for 35 years.

I am not sure he can compete with Kai. Kai is a power drummer. I have never seen anyone like him. He also has a charisma that is tremendous. OK, EES is also a big guy with lots of power and Charisma. So, maybe ...

Oh yeah.... he can fill in for ANY drummer for ANY band!!! I think as a professional, he would have the utmost respect for band members and stick with the way the band does things unless asked to go beast mode!!!

Estepario was in a great hard rock/metal band Saratoga. He knows how to play in a band and how to make a youtube video. He's now getting into a jazz fusion trio, which should be interesting.
What you speak is certainly true about allowing space for everyone to have their shining moments and you can tell El Etepario understands when to back off and when to stomp on the gas.
Him doing the guitar solo at 11:30 might be the most disgustingly good thing Ive seen him do. Idk why that one sticks out, but WOW

I’ve been playing drums since I was three some of my greatest influences were around jazz rock and funk some of the greatest drummers in the world like Louis Bellson, buddy, rich Jean Cooper, David Garibaldi, Mike Shreve are my noted inspirations in spite of the fact I’ve trained in many different formats from basic principles to orchestrate symphonic polyphonic, syncopated orchestrations I’m influenced primarily by old school influences like Sergio Mendes, José Feliciano, Carlos Santana, Al DiMeola, and Joe Satriani, even Carl Palmer from Emerson Lake and Palmer even Gloria Estefan and earth, wind and fire. I’m grateful for having such mentors showing me the ways of true music and fundamentals of great sound Estepario Siberiano is very very fundamental, but my influences or more Latin Cuban African I endorse his efforts and his magnificent stamina, more power to him, and keep on rockin

I wouldn't be able to enjoy watching him.. no I mean just messing around on drums or whatever that wouldn't be a big deal but I am glad I'm not a famous drummer because I'll tell you what... These guys on guitar in this band amazing.. I can only imagine I haven't even started it yet.

CLEAN AND SUPER CRAZY FAST.
I had a blast taking two of the most incredible musicians and played them side by side in different browsers. I took El Estepario Siberiano and Tina S both playing DragonForce through the fire and flames and watching the 2 musicians that make it look so easy and it was awesome. Try iy if you dare. It was a blast. Rock on!!!!

El Estepario knows how to play in a band and he is very humble. His own band has released a song and he is not going crazy. Of course he would respect the music and play the music as the band expects him to. Also any professional band hiring him would give him room for a drum solo or two because that’s what the audience would want.
His recent Blinding Lights cover definitely has stuff you have never seen before!
He's signature fill at the beginning is two phrases of linear triplets but his hands are playing double strokes.
Ok - so the world is full of us amateur, only part time drummers…you know, we had a kit between 8th grade and freshman in college…played in bands at talent shows or small dances before we were old enough to drive… loved music but so distracted with girls and cars and partying, etc.
But we still mentally memorized drum parts when we heard The Who, Deep Purple, Chicago, Jo Jo Gunne, Santana….later, Rush… any of those bad bangers of days gone by.
We would hear songs and in our mind add near super-human fills, imagine patterns that would take 3 arms to execute - dream up embarrassingly conspicuous transitions.
We were all EES in our heads.
But this guy translated all of that.
Found a way to do it.
Then move on to doing it while coasting.
I’m just happy he’s a music lover and I hope he causes a Drum Renaissance…

The best drummers know when NOT to go all out, and why to lay back when the song calls for it.
If he were to join dragonforce live, I would have to say they would have to extend the solo section. So after the guitar solo's he could do a drum solo. And then continue the song that would be epic. I have been playing guitar for 25 years. And still don't have the talent that this guy has in one hand.

I think the groove father is a manifestation of all drummers worldwide created by consciences.. it's like he channels any and every style and shows us styles/techniques not evenknown by modern and old school alike.. this beast has literally made me bored with sick ass drummers that I've listened to forever . He's actually gotten me bored of songs that have existed way longer than him. But I'm grateful to have been able to listen to those now boring licks. As their original form....el estepario(when your lightyears ahead of anybody. There's no way he can completely stay playing one genre. This dude gives us the gift of any genre fucking.....

I do a lot of triplet para diddles and double stroke fundamentals. I’ve had several instructors and conductors, all of which were very good in teaching me the tradition of percussion when I first heard Neil Peart I was very young and I said he sounds like me because I played in band classes all my life, all the years I’ve played, have been tradition and exhibition. Thank you for your innovation I support everything you do, and will watch your videos always thank you again.

On the note of him subbing for G. I would typically agree with what you said, however in this case, I believe with El Estepario's skill level and understanding of music that he could go off and match or balance the other members going off without muddying or overplaying them. I think he probably is one of the only drummers ever that would be able to pull it off tho.
