I love watching musicians putting their own signature on the cover, because that's the reason for me to watch covers. Also, I have the feeling that if the song is some kind of remix as is it the case here, it offers more room to make it yours.
He has made me understand that every song just needs more drum and faster. It just makes everything better.
I’m a drummer myself. Danny Carey, buddy rich, some greats out there but estapario is the fastest and most technically perfect drummer I’ve ever seen. And he is making it accessible and popular. He might be the best in the world

So many things to say about EES but one that is very interesting to me is how calm he is. His core is like the eye of the storm, a true base point from which everything can emerge. His movements are so precise, so economical, so exact. The level of talent and practice is astounding

Yes indeed, he gets quite a lot of "that's not how you should play that song", "he is overplaying it" and "a REAL drummer wouldn't play that way with a band" ....yeah.
I find his musicality, orchestration and showmanship unparalleled and watching him inspires me. And I don't even play the drums - his passion extends far beyond his instrument of choice

Look at his Blinding Lights cover. That is by far his best cover for me personally. Mostly because his drumming enhances the song infinitely without taking over!

The original song used a LinDrum Drum Machine credited to Micheal Jackson. This dude is just phenomenal and is a human drum machine with groove for days.

Your take on wanting to pick up the sticks from watching him, is specifically his goal in life. He wants others to discover/re-discover the joy of drumming.
Welcome back Bear! Glad things are better for you! There's a few you'd appreciate on a channel called Drumeo. Example - Chad Smith from Red Hot Chili Peppers freestyles to a drumless track of a song he's never heard, then they let him listen to the drums. There's several other great drummers, including the Megadeath drummer, that does this with unfamiliar songs. As a drummer, I think you'd really like to react to some of these!
Then, I also think with everything you've gone through, you would really appreciate Ren, another Indy artist. I highly suggest starting with HI Ren, then do the FULL trilogy called The Tale of Jenny & Screetch (it's 3 songs stitched together and ab 13 min) and then go with the flow on suggestions from viewers after that. Ren videos will also help your channel a lot!
And if you want a few for Nightwish, or others, I'm happy to suggest some lol! But Ren will pop it off nicely! He's diverse - rap, ska/reggae (w his groun The Big Push), busking, singing, makes his own beats and does many vids as one takes - Hi Ren is a one take shot from several angels. He also plays guitar and piano and a few other things if memory serves. He talks a lot about mental health and society issues. Hope this helps! So glad to see you back! He has a video that shows him from almost the very beginning of learning to play the drums then progresses right through to current level. Almost the entire evolution he played a pretty good size kit. ( 8-10 piece ) Once he had almost the same chops as now he began using the 3 piece. I think at his level, using the small kit is easier for him. He can concentrate on the showmanship and not have to make decisions on what Tom's he will use on his fills.

On review videos like this, I might recommend showing the featured drummer more visually prominent. I can count the hairs on your bead but barely see the drummer. Yes, he is amazing. Very clean and accurate. And of course, incredibly fast!

Great comments and great energy. A really enjoyable reaction. I'm pretty sure I've got this correct. VARUS is not EES's own company. It is a small, Italian, custom build company. Estepario did a video on why he switched from Yamaha to VARUS and it had everything to do with his desire to be able to deal with THE people at a company. He said that though he had nothing but respect for Yamaha and their time together the company was too large for him to have really personal relationships with the actual creators. My guess is that EES is definitely putting VARUS on a lot of peoples radar. I've been to their site and for sure some of the most badass looking sets I've ever seen.

Oh, and what cover of his to react to next? I highly recommend that you choose a song that you actually like. It tends to help the vibe of the reaction if you already like the song and are more invested in his creative playing. But on a personal note the one i think demonstrates the most extreme limb independence is his first rendition of The Bongo Song. He has 2 out there, but his first one is far more elaborate and energetic. And you can see that he is having so much fun playing it. Any way, thanks for the reaction!

The guy is incredible, super clean, fast and can do just about anything but I would like to see some feeling more akin to a Steve Gadd groove in some of his vids. All of his vids are beginning to look and sound the same.

I think more than anything else with El Estepario, I get that if you stripped away all of the complexities of what he does, he like drummers such as Chad Smith, has an absolutely amazing feel for the pocket.
I can't stand when drummers overplay... unless it is El Estepario Siberiano, lol. I hate when I stumble on his videos because I get stuck in the rabbit hole and forget I'm at work.
