Great video mate! Thanks a bunch. Quick question: did you (or could you please) check if you can run it at 4k 120Hz via the USB-C port?
Thanks! I didn't as I don't have a GPU with Type-C, but it should be doable
even 138 Hz works with USB-C
I enjoyed watching your thorough review. That's some impressive min-brightness less than a nit! Not sure if true but I heard oled tv/monitors arn't dc flicker-free like a typical ips/va monitor? Specifically at lower brightness there is a pwm flicker that's inherent to all oled?
Thanks buddy, I appreciate it!
They do indeed suffer from some sort of flicker, that's why OSRTT struggles with OLEDs.
@@TotallydubbedHD Thanks for clearing that up. I'm excited to see more smaller (and affordable!!) oled reviews this year cheers.
@@GeordiLaForgery me too, and pleasure!
this guy doesn't know what he's talking about. small AMOLED displays often use PWM to improve low brightness response, big OLED panels don't use that, they're pure DC and as a result, they can look less uniform at the lowest brightness.
@@chengong388 Of course I don't know what I'm talking about, that's why I asked the question!
I checked the Rtings review for LG G3 55" and it's not flicker free either.
Hey there! Can you add some links to your setup? I have one of the Evnia monitors and am looking for a desk shelf where its long legs won’t be tumbling onto my desk mat.
It looked like your review of the 34” had a pretty stable desk shelf underneath it.
This is a custom desk setup, so you wouldn't be able to buy it!
That is HUGE for a monitor 🤤🤤🤤
Yup haha!
hey i looking for monitor 240hz 1080p 24inch to esports games. i was consider the Dell G2524H cuz i dont think i will use stroboscope, you can maybe recomend me smth?
Sure, would recommend this: ua-cam.com/video/eZYZpU4Tx6Y/v-deo.html
Hi, can you tell me what is the minimum height of the monitor? THX!
Suggest checking the specs online
Can I get a link to your wallpaper? 😫
Lol?
If only we could get more LCD monitors with that range of brightness :(
It would be impossible really, unless you consider MiniLED
When i play on ps5 mode, i cannot change the input lag. Is it so that it already set to low input lag automatically?
From what I understand and tested, yes.
I would of liked to of seen you touch on brightness in 10%, 25%, 50% and 100% window.
That's a lot of work. It takes multiple days as it is to produce my content, and that in itself is not even appreciated by viewers.
The nit nerds would. I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but a 100 dollar lumen meter would be wise in the future. Most reviewers do it. Seeing what the display will do in the 25 to 50 pecent range is a gamechanger and give those who understand a better understanding of it's ABL. Other than that, it was a top notch review. @@TotallydubbedHD
@@JakeWaterSnake great, for the nits nerds. I'm more than happy with the detail I provide in my videos. Thanks.
@@TotallydubbedHD As long as you're happy with it and it saves time, that's all that matters...
AOC 24G4 is out
No reviews so far
We are waiting for your vid on this one
Ha, first I've heard of it! I'm sure I'll get it in at some point. Doesn't look overly different from its predecessor though.
is this better then Asus Rog PG42UQ ?
As this is a sponsored video, it wouldn't be right for me to say. However, I've not tested the Asus.
It was all going well until the matt coating .. damn . Nice but a no go for me
Fair enough. Thanks for sharing!
Is it glossy?
No
Can anyone confirm that the sound coming from this monitor via DP is good/rich or do you get a tinny sound?
I have set it up and also managed to update the firmware to the latest v1.11. The OLED picture quality is great, but I think something is wrong with the sound?
It has 2x10W DTS speakers but the sound coming from the monitor is without any bass and sounds like a cheap speaker, very tinny. I tried all the settings in the OSD, but to no avail!
The monitor is connected to an nvidia Geforce 3080Ti via HDMI cable. The audio is fine on my LG monitor and I haven't changed anything in Windows 11.
It's pretty impressive for a monitor, at least with the settings shared. Shouldn't sound tinny, although isn't ever going to replace proper speakers.
can you explain the steps to update it to 1.11? I'm still in support with Philips but they still haven't been able to help me yet.
@@alexkerber use the software, and have the USB cable connected to the PC
I have tried using usb-c and usb-a/b and none of them works. No update comes up only. I even had the update option disable from the 6.18 > 6.19 smartcontrol update but got a 6.19.3 that the update option wasn’t disabled from Philips but still no prompt to update the firmware
@@alexkerber no idea, best asking tech support
Is ABL noticable on this monitor ?
Covered in the video, did you not watch it?
Is 138Hz a problem because of Framepacing? (especially for a TV which used to watch 30fps movies)
I think 42C3 is better..its becoming even cheaper now after 42C4 release. The most worth it OLED monitor here (for $899)
Don't know to be honest, so can't advise. But this isn't a TV and doesn't have an aerial.
