bindra has legit started a revolution in competitive shooting in India
his stuffs are legendary..he is like practicing 10 m shooting since his childhood.
This year’s India’s shooting team is so strong , hoping many medals from them , they won world championship also recently

That's how revolution begins in Every sports. No one played Cricket in India till Kapil Dev won World Cup. Badminton was not popular till Saina won bronze in Olympics but now we have large number of badminton players. Even many kids are taking up boxing after Vijender Singh won a bronze and we have world class boxers competing this time. All it takes is hard work of a Single player to change the mindset of the nation.

My son said he wanted to be one the first American to win at target shooting and bring the gold home to the United States. It made me cry because I Know it's going to be hard for him but I'm going to be in his corner. I say that because he's African American. As a gun person I don’t overly like Olympic shooting. These rifles and pistols are such a far cry from a practical tool. Unless they plan on hunting a squirrel covered in body armor that is staying still it is mostly useless. I’m by no means saying that they are unskilled. They are extremely talented and I could not match them. But I wish more IDPA or ISPc style competition was in the olympics. These firearms have small magazines, small capacities and shoot tiny projectiles. They may be accurate but they would not be used in the real world. I would love to see the same talented individuals handed a bunch of G.I. 1911’s, 38 police revolvers, or m9s and told to go shoot human sized targets as fast as they could. Without the special hat that covers one eye. The olympics were conceived to demonstrate human capabilities in controlled environments but in practical situations such as boxing, wrestling, running, throwing, archery, shooting, swimming, etc.
As a gun person I highly disagree and one thing I like about the Olympics take is the defetishisation of the weapons.
Also under your criteria the Olympics would have to kick out popular traditional Sports such as baseball football basketball ECT. And to also clarify the original Olympics was a way for Greek city-states to earn bragging rights while worshiping their gods.
