OH MY GOD ACE UPLOADED, let's watch this Video from the person who plays video games a lot more passionately than most people I know. With that said, I predict that it's gonna be good.

I watched the video and thought you had at least 10k subs, but only 600? You are criminally underappreciated. You will blow up soon.

i always enjoyed the monologue bennet gives throughout getting over it. i feel as if i wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much if i had to deal with his more condescending moments during gameplay.

Couldn't make a comment with a link but there is way more foddian game than the 3 you mentionned ay 2:28. Just to name a few good one, golfing over it with alva majo, boxman struggle, time to golf, this is hell, worm adventure 4, crappy climber, beton brutale, blade jumper, bouncing over it with friend, bread and fred, goop loop, late for class, variety king, rocket jump, spiral up, step by step, that flipping mountain and without my arm

One thing I dislike about the trend of "Foddian" games is that a lot of them miss what I feel is essential to the formula, namely that you can get good at them. Especially getting over it is theoretically finishable in mere minutes. What makes it so frustrating and also so rewarding is that at some point you realize that it's not "hours of progress" that have been lost, that with every little piece of progress you make it becomes a tiny bit easier and, if you are patient and diligent, falling down will soon only be a loss of a few minutes. This means that "erasing your progress" isn't just a cheap trick the game pulls on you, because all that's separating you from where you've been is your technical ability. The game challenges you to be patient and keep a cool head, and if you manage to do that, you are rewarded with the game becoming less punishing overall.
Compare this with Only Up, a much worse game in my opinion. No matter how "good" you get, getting up to where you have been takes almost the same time regardless of how good you are. You have to do the same slow walks, do the same awkward jumps, and it can take dozens of minutes to regain your progress. And that just isn't interesting to me, that's game design that's simply hostile to the player without anything interesting to do with it.

Something that bothers me a little bit is that people talking about Foddian games seem to always start with Getting Over It, as if it's the first time Bennett Foddy made a game like this. Girp and QWOP seem to have been forgotten in the shadow of Getting Over It's success and that makes me a little sad, as someone who put a lot of time into both games back when they were the new hot thing in flash games.
... oh, it's because they're flash games, isn't it? Bweh.

I had a similar experience with getting over it, I expected to find it hard, annoying and unbeatable, but it was surprisingly easy and fun. My friends however did not agree in their attempts

A lot of games feel like they only get fun after you start to get good at them. The entire rougelite genre falls into this category, along with most online PvP games.
