A nice informative video, with no loud background music, and straight to the point. I just had my video ringdoor bell installed, I was amazed at how easy it was to connect to my wifi.
I have just recently purchased and installed the Ring Doorbell 3 Plus, and it obviously has been given an upgrade since this video was produced, as mine supports both 2.4Mhz & 5Mhz Wifi.
@@ErinLawrenceTV I do. I have it recording to the Reolink NVR, so nothing is ever missed. I also like I can add my own personal message (though a pain, as you get 10 seconds - I'd like to see added in the future where you can add mp3 clips for a personal message); they have a POE and a WiFi version, both of which can record 24/7. Plus there other cameras are impressive as well. I love the Duo 2, which gives you a 150 degree view in one image plus their Trackmix, which is dual lens auto tracking camera. I've been using for about 4-5 months now and love the brand. If you're interested in home security, surely cannot go wrong. Also, look at thinks like door reinforcement, from products like door armor. Strengthens the doorframe from criminal quickly kicking in an exterior door.
I'm using the Blink camera now and I just ordered the Ring Plus because the batteries I was buying for the Blink are not cheap so I had to go with the Ring because you can recharge the batteries. My Ring camera will be here tomorrow
Hello, thanks for this review. I just bought this ring battery doorbell, and I am having issues with the motion notifications. The camera records when a person is detected or motion as well, but I do not receive any notifications of those events. Any ideas on how to fix it? Also, it keeps disconnecting from the wifi. Thanks
i need to upgrade mine, because despite it being wired , every winter below -15 it doesnt work till it warms up. i hope the new models are better with that
Hey Forchy! Good point. Our cameras and doorbells seem only to go off-line if it gets below about -20 Celsius. But they do come back online on their own when it warms up.
@@ErinLawrenceTV hihi Erin! I hope you are well! yea, as I understand it, at least with my model, it doesn’t actually run off the wires but charges its battery off them. As every canadian knows from our cars, batteries and cold are not friends. Im guessing the 5 degree difference between ours is because my model is likely older and less effective due to age.
No one will answer me when I ask this question, will this ring doorbell invade my neighbors privacy if I get one. We have a communal car park and I don't want to record my neighbors and their children going to their car, this worries me.
With most video doorbells, you are able to adjust how far the camera will “see”. You can simply adjust this field of you to only cover your property and not your neighbors. You could also install it at a different angle on your home or in a slightly different location.
@ErinLawrenceTV So when people are sitting on my porch am I going to get notification when they are there moving or is this something I have to turn off evertime family or friends are on porch?
I tend to spend a lot of time listening to things on my headphones via my Android phone. This can cause problems If someone knocks on my door. Can this video doorbell be configured To make a ringing sound on my phone that my headphones would pick up?
I am not overly familiar with Ring yet but heard from a few people that there is possible privacy issues with sharing videos and such. Is any of that correct? Not a fan of a monthly subscriptions but did purchase the doorbell plus and spotlight camera that they had on sale. Thank you for the video
I have a different opinion on what constitutes "GOOD" quality video. Ring tends to be pixely even in this video. I wish 4k or 8k was a thing with them. For now Ill just have to stick with my 4k Lorex cameras without a doorbell. Bandwidth isnt an issue when you have an NVR and not a subscription to a cloud service. Ring is so worried about monthly fees they can't offer a modern product at the same time. I mean who even own anything 1080P anymore ?
@@ErinLawrenceTV The NVR isn't exactly user friendly. The phone so gives me low quality payback, but it works fine otherwise. What were your issue(s) with it. Mine is the NR900 series
I am upgrading from the Ring Doorbell 2 to the Ring Doorbell Plus. So far I am impressed with it. I made the upgrade because of the better quality camera and the better view then the the previous version I am also happy with the response time over the previous version as well. The package notification is real nice. I have always worried about my packages being ripped off, so this is a nice feature. I also find the the color vision at night is not that great right now. It is sub par to other cameras that I have seen, not on doorbell cameras but other cameras. Maybe this will improve with software upgrades over time. I happy they finally mad a head to toe camera, as this is something they have needed for a long time. Over all I would give this camera a A- in a grade. There is some improvement needed but I find it could be fixed real easy through software upgrades over time.
$179.00 is a cash grab nothing more. All anyone needs is a wifi camera that alerts the home owner of who is walking through their property....bells and whistles .....just gimmicks which aren't necessary
Ring Door bell I purchased was an absolute piece of junk that NEVER worked, other than a door bell. CUstomer service was also useless. I wouldn't buy another ring. Save your money or burn it but don't give it to Ring is my advice and experience.

Love our new battery operated Ring Doorbell. How long does your battery last?
I love my Ring Pro 2, but swapped it out for Reolink's POE doorbell. I love being able to watch it 24/7....
Interesting! I have not had the chance to try that brand. Do you like it?

Thanks for the review. I’m all in with the Ring echo system.
Good choice!

yeah a 4K camera doorbell would be cool but it will comes with alot of problems I feel

When mounting it to the wall how do you hide where existing doorbell is?Thankyou!
You could just get a cover for the old spot; they have things like that at Home Depot. I don't know what the correct name for them is

Will this be updated to support pre-roll.
What is the battery life like?
Not sure you really need a 4K video doorbell? A case of "just because you can doesn't mean you have to" I suspect.
I guess the same could have been said about 4K TVs… HDTVs certainly still provide a good picture quality. Need versus want vs can. 😃

What is the battery life on the wireless doorbell?
Good question. I can often get 3 to 4 months of life from a battery.

Can I ask anyone is the fish eye really that bad? It doesn't look good to me
It doesn't bother me and I can still clearly see.
