The color night vision only works with light from external sources like a patio light, the IR LEDs will not illuminate the colors on your shirt at night so everything looked b&w except for the lights behind you which must be yellowish on the temperature scale
Certified Refurbished Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 is currently only $159 which is an outstanding deal and has the same full warranty as the new (unused) product.
With how far technology has come, the video and audio quality should be far greater than this. 4K is on every phone right now and has been for many years, so 4K should have been the resolution so that you have a better and more clearer picture
I rather buy multiple ring stick up cams for the $260 for the doorbell thing lol. I don’t understand the ring doorbell camera deal. Can’t move it and the video angles are useless at times. I seen what neighbors send on the ring app and those doorbell cameras don’t cut it most of the time. Just keep your regular doorbell and put multiple stick up cams in your porch. 260 dollars for that one doorbell camera is outrageous
$250 used to be normal for a high end camera, but there are SO many new, cheaper, competitors out there that i would like to see Ring drop their price. Although, Ring has brand recognition. I walk through my neighborhood and 80% of the houses have a Ring video doorbell.
Good video Steve, thanks. Question: I don't have existing backdoor wires and using a battery "Ring" doorbell is out of the question since I live in a northern state and in the winter time I'm told the batteries last 3 to 5 days. I'm looing to drill a small hole and use an 24v. adapter that I can plug into a receptacle right next to the back door(inside). When I was looking a couple years ago they sold the adapter w/20" of wire with the doorbells but can't find them anymore.......so the question is does the "Ring Wired Doorbell" run off a 24v? The spec sheets that I saw says yes but after reading reviews on Amazon IDK what to think, lol! Thanks in advance.
Can't help but think that the fact the wired one doesn't work with an existing chime is a deliberate design choice to make more money. Surely it is easy for it to work with existing equipment.
Actually it’s a bit complicated. Computers require a stable power supply. The doorbell designs from 100 years ago are low voltage ac and basically short closed for communication, which could crash the camera. The more expensive wired doorbell from ring has a communication module that goes separately wired into the existing chime. You’re supposed to use an Alexa speaker as a chime so you can seamlessly answer. That’s why the chime is an afterthought.
You mentioned you can use your echo show and echo dot as your chime for either doorbell. How about the 4th gen echo? Also is it waterproof. I'm worried about rain.
Hey Steve, I'm trying to find out if you're having issues with Arlo cameras no longer making motion announcements through Amazon devices, particularly the fire tv cube. Seems they no longer support any cameras other than ring and abode. This is just another instance of amazon taking away skills that we distinctly purchased their products for. Used to be able to change channels through alexa voice commands then they took away the cox skill completely. Didn't know how else to contact you as I don't do UA-cam unless I'm watching your videos. Appreciate you getting back with me. Also checked with Eufy skill and it seems they don't announce motion anymore either. Thanks for any info you can give me, Ed.
^ Can the Pro2 technically be wifi jammed, even if it's a wired? I just watched a lot of videos now to worry me about wifi connections. I mean can't power lines be cut if bad guys really wanted to get in as well? I heard of Poe's/NVr's but they are going to be expensive to install by professionals. But, if they are more secure i'll go for it. I know in general the point of alarms is too alert you if you are home in emergency or if you are away. Nothing will stop a person 100%
So, to understand, when I installed the wired version of the doorbell, does the original chime stop working? What does the small ring "box" which you connect into the existing chime box do? Is this what replaces the existing chime? It's not well explained. Thanks
Ring wired: you lose your existing chime. Ring Pro 2 (and Ring Doorbell Plus which is similar) you can use your existing chime. But check your voltage because Ring Pro 2 and Ring Doorbell Plus require at least 16v (AC) and sometimes even more, while Ring Doorbell Wired works with just 10v (AC). I just purchased Ring Doorbell Wired because I measured 14v in my existing chime -and I don't want to re-wire the whole thing. Also Ring Doorbell Wired+Chime costs 70, versus 149 for Ring Doorbell Plus and more than 200 for Ring Pro 2. In the end it's just a doorbell.
@@c.patricksadowski9959The standard chime is just a chime. The Chime Pro is also a repeater but only for Ring devices and I read it has poor performance.
You cannot press the bell ( my case pro 2) multiple times. Beats the whole purpose of being a bell. You have to wait 30 seconds before pressing the bell gives sound again. Delivery guy presses bell. I don't hear it. He presses twice and third time but the bell doesn't ring. So delivery guy goes away but you have it all nice on video though. A ring that doesn't ring lol. Leave me alone in my shame!
Hi, great videos. i have no need for a video doorbell. do you know of standard doorbell that will link to google hub so that I don't have to have a separate wireless bells plugged into the wall?
Ring is absolute junk along with their customer service. Don't waste your money. I will never buy another Ring, I would rather burn the money first. I spent 3 - 4 days on the phone waiting hours to speak with a representative from ring. The first one I had to wake up on a couple occasions as she snored on the phone. WASTE of money.

When you were talking the sound on the Ring Wired Doorbell is much more clear than on the Ring Doorbell Pro 2.

Much better price....then 300 bucks..Not Worth 300
Thanks for the video. Definitely getting the more expensive version.
The pro 2 is worth it. I went from the pro & it was such an upgrade, the pro kit v3 responds instant as well
Pro 2 is on another level!
Yea, it's quite impressive

Your phone costs a lot more than a ring doorbell
@@32Phresh that's not the point. Cheap phones or even cheap cctv cameras have better quality than these door bells

Regular cameras don’t have a button on them for visitors to press.
@@leonchal 😂 wow so worth the $299. $65 for a stick up cam and you can keep the regular doorbell operating.
@@Catman1798 and you can talk to them like an intercom as well 🤡
I love that you have vivints doorbell camera. The true best doorbell camera! 😊
Yea, it is pretty amazing! :)
Gracias de gran ayuda para tomar la decision definitivamente las pro2 se ve mucho mejor pero es un tema de costo
I have the ring wired version, the price difference in price for the pro 2 doesn't make any sense...

$200 difference? No way. Use that $200 to buy some more Ring stuff like Floodlight Cam!
The pro 2 has noise reduction on & a not very good one, is there not an option for original or raw audio?
What year was the pro 2?
the wired and pro 2 does have a battery built in to keep it running a few seconds after disconnect from hardwire
The first 5 mins - I realized I could have gone to Ring's website myself. Thanks anyway
Is the pro2 waterproof ?

Probably should have done colored night vision with you're front door light on
Nicely distinguish
It's a very good video, I need a lot of help from you
My neighbor talks to me from Greece on Ring door bell
Nice old navy shirt ... wife got me the same one lol
00:42: A door bell that comes with no bells and whistles. Ouch.
I dont think it is worth the extra money
does the Pro model, the blue light turns on during the night? I see @9:03 the ring blue light is on...
It turns on when motion is detected
@@SteveDOES I submitted a question at Amazon, and they say No, the blue light only turns on when pressed or pushed, not when motion detection.
@@ArtCardenas Really? I'll have to test that out again.
wish they would make a battery version of the doorbell pro..other versions are just to boxey and thick for my doorframe
If they put a battery in the pro 2 then it would have to be big and bulky, which is what you don't want?

How long is the recording time? More than 60seconds
Up to 120 seconds
I know this is an older video, but the pro is now $150
Ring is kinda dead to me with all these video leaks. I don’t mind healing out LEO’s but at least ask me first.
