In a way, she sort of was. When they were talking about Pamela Voorhees, they were showing clips from Friday 7, Which was basically Jason v Carrie.
The same reason we dont understand mass shooters....like 6 people did sumn to u and ur reclusive ass kill everyone....how is she different

My first thought too.
I feel like Jason and Pamela could’ve been a combined entry. She kills due to grieving his death and he kills because he thinks the teens at Crystal Lake are the ones who killed his mother. They both have understandable motives.
Becoming a therapist? That’d work well for an alternate career for Jigsaw. At least then, he could harmlessly help people appreciate their lives.
That actually sounds like a premise for a Horror movie. These victims keep getting picked off, and it turns out the one thing they have in common is they all share the same therapist, who is trying to make them see a new lease on life, by putting them in a life or death situation.

Im glad Pamela was mentioned but couldve used footage from the original Friday the 13th film with her instead of just using part 7 footage all the way thru that segment lol

I swear they are making intentional mistakes to generate comments these days. They* blatantly spoiled the end of a movie for no reason the other day and their HotD S2E2 summary was so factually inaccurate as to approach parody.
I think this was bad editing, or lassy. Clearly they mentioned Pamela but they edited everything with Part 7 images and used a Scream name under it. This was not intentional.
There’s nothing worse than a killer with sadistic intentions that make no sense. Yet, these villains had somewhat understandable reasons, though an eye for an eye leaves everyone blind in the end.
I know I always question why?
I disagree, knowing why killers kill make them more interesting.
Sometimes people just want to watch the world burn 🔥-having said that, many killers without a specific motive to why they kill isn’t bad at all especially when the film is executed well. To try to do character studies on what makes them tick is just as important and visceral. Try to look at them in a different perspective because many of them you’ll find an understanding of why they turned out the way they did. Even if it’s just insanity or born evil. Genetics, society, trauma, practically anything and everything could be a reason to why they do what they do. Depends through what eyes they’re seen from

There is no understandable reason for murdering someone

Judge Turpin didn’t take Todd’s wife, Lucy, for his own. He assaulted her at a party. Then she tried to commit suicide by drinking arsenic. When that didn’t work, she went insane and became a beggar woman.
Thank you for this correction legit was confused when they mis- relayed what happened in Sweeney Todd.
I’ve said it so many times but I’m a firm believer that John Kramer is broken and not pure evil. He is self righteous and an asshole, but he was dealt a very hard hand in life. He had cancer, lost his unborn child, his wife left him, and he attempted suicide but survived. If you watch Saw X it’s very clear that he is actually a very human and sympathetic character, going as far as to risk dying so an innocent child wouldn’t. He also gets visibly upset when Cecilia kills Gabriela. People who disagree either haven’t seen all the movies or just didn’t look that much into his character.
@@sawtistic I mean a lot of people are broken. Very few of them turn around and create complex death trap puzzles to "help" people learn to appreciate their lives.
@@sundalangur3250 I mean yeah but that can be applied to every broken villain. Lots of people have mommy issues and don’t kill people, but people still consider Billy Loomis and Jason Voorhees broken villains 🤷♀️

I totally disagree with Jigsaw being on this list. Kramer is a twisted individual who wraps up his sadism in flowery language, and the fact that he gaslights his victims (and even much of the audience) into thinking he's morally righteous and justified just makes him even worse.

It’s been over 40 years though.
The fictional youth survivor of the boating accident who became a crazed, vengeful killer.
All 9 people got brutally killed, including the toxic teenage girl named Judy; camp owner Mel; and the cheating boyfriend Paul.
For Pamela Voorhees, you played Part 7, which she is not in, and had a footer that said “Scream”, which was not the movie being played.
Jigsaw is a self righteous murderer there are many ways he could help his victims instead of causing more trauma to people he thought didn’t appreciate life.
Fr, dude literally killed someone because they had depression, had someone killed after putting him through horrendous trials because he was heartbroken after his child was killed, allowed his apprentices to rig their traps with little to no argument, he did so many shitty things. Some did deserve some of what they got but so many just didn't
And those who are outright doing so many wrongdoings

Billy from "Scream" had an understandable motive for going after Mrs. Prescott, but killing or trying to kill everyone else is not as understandable.
I agree. His killing spree doesn't make sense. But then, this film series has plot holes big enough for a semi to drive through.
Red's motive makes sense cause she is the real Adelaide. Since her doppelganger took her home and family away from her.
But why does the lady speak with a deep voice like she's possessed?

The traumatized survivor of the boating accident turned psychotic camp slashing murderer during the popular 1983 slasher movie.
I felt sorry for Pamela mainly. A mother’s love is deeper than any stab to anyone who harms her beloved child. I get a lot of caretaking love from my mom and I can relate to why Jason’s believed drowning made Pamela’s sanity snap.
Yeah, she’s grieving for her kid
Pamala Vorhees, who was also working at the camp, blames the councilors for her screw up making her an asshole.
You may paint them as victims but that doesn't excuse their actions. Every cannibal movie ever taught me that lesson
I would also recommend Jason Voorhees himself for being a drowned child, Norman Bates who was protective over his mom, leprechaun for protecting his pot of gold, Andre Toulon who's wife was killed in the puppet master franchise from Nazi's and Cujo the dog who got rabies.
None of the Friday the 13th footage showed had anything to do with Pamela Voorhees and isn't even from the original film.

Jason is getting abused by drunk mother
Billy Loomis became one of my few favorite Ghostface killer characters in the franchise.
His motive made more sense indeed, but we all know that killing few innocent people won’t solve anything, no matter how angry, traumatized, or crazy you are, plus infidelity is still one of the biggest issues in both real-life and fiction.

Something a lot of people don't know, is that the skeletons were *NOT* fake. They were real human skeletons used in the movie. I don't remember how they pulled that off without running into a mountain of lawsuits, but they were in no way props. They were real human remains.

Jason had an understanding motivation in the beginning. but after part 7 he’s just kinda straight up evil. (Not including FvJ)

the South Korean "Into the Mirror" has a villain with an understandable motive as the ghost is not only avenging her own death but at the same time trying to protect her twin sister whom is still alive.

Guess the only one I can sympathize with is the classic Monster from Frankenstein, since he was given life, but not a soul. Everyone else who kills out of revenge or whatever reason, I can’t really understand or feel sorry for.

I'm glad John Kramer was on here. I felt like such a psychopath for sympathizing with him since he's a psyhco. I don't condone it but I get it. He teaches those not to take life for granted and punished those who are selfish and don't care about others.

If you set up a snare and you trap someone in it and they die, you will be charged with murder...that's one of the most blurred lines this narrative has, he is by all rights and means a murderer with a warped sense of disregarding accountability

The horror villain I sympathize with most is Matt Cordell from the Maniac Cop franchise. A good cop whose methods are a bit excessive at times is unjustly imprisoned and later killed in prison by some of the inmates that he arrested. Rather than target the inmates, he frames police and painting them as untrustworthy. Then during the St. Patrick's Day parade in NYC, he decides to take his bloody vengeance out on those who wronged him. If you want to find out the fate of those inmates, watch the sequel.

I started sympathizing with John Kramer. I know he became what he is because of what happened to him and his wife and the rest of his family that includes his nephew, and his own son especially since I’ve started showing sympathy in my heart for tragic villains sometimes villains aren’t born bad someone or something just makes them that way, and then that person becomes even worse than the person that made them who they are, especially after their own demise the villain, who made the person what they are, I mean

As someone once said: When we're children, we cheer for the heroes, but when we grow up, we start to identify with the villains.
So you don’t have Jason but you include his mother on the list but rather than use footage of her you only show footage of Jason from Part 7?
The line between avenge and revenge is often blurred.
If Sleepaway Camp was ever remade I would want it to be the same just more gory it’s a great movie premise

I made the mistake of saying I hated the film 10 years ago because I was 22 when Society was celebrating the film for 40 year anniversary.
A Classic to this very day
Almost every slasher can be pot here cause most start with the future killer witnessing something so traumatic that it turns them into becoming one. (not all but many)
To be fair, all jason victims didnt even knew about him or had anything to do with his accident, so no i still dont understand his actions or defense, is still bad.
I just finished watching The Menu and in retrospect Chef Slowik didn’t deserve a bunch of criticism from the people, like many others who have a passion for what they loved doing, because they will have doubt

Many relatable villains. Victor Crawley,Xenomorph Queen,Alex Hammond,Jigsaw is pure psychopath. Completely disgusting. But we can understand him.Billy Loomis,Red and Thetered,Pamela Voorhees,Candyman(we can understand him too),Angela Baker(Peter) she is terrifying. Really. Relatable. But terrible and disgusting. The Monster is very sympathetic.Really tragic character. He wasn't evil. Great list
What makes Us truly great is the plot twist in which you find out that the tethered swapped places with the real woman and stole her life. 🎉

i know that is the dumbest thing ever samara shouldn't be on the listing period cause one she kills cause she is a legit demon child two she not only killed people on purpose but animals as well and even at the end of the movie Samara says "and im sorry it won't stop" not to mention the version of samara literary possessing aiden and all the deed she did in rings yea there no way she fit into this category. sadako fits perfectly cause not only was she murdered for being a quote-on-quote evil when it was just her powers that did the deeds and also the fact that she lost her only lover and the fact that she was bullied by almost everyone she knew yea I can understand why she kills people cause humanity treated her like crap so honestly it makes sense for Sadako to be on this list

The best, and most sympathetic part, of the Candyman, IMO, is something you left out: His description of his killing spree as an obligation.
"You are not content with the stories. So I was obliged to come."
Granted, few people are forced to do something as horrific as confirm our existence through bloodshed. But we can all relate to having to do things we would much rather not. And were all of us in the Candyman's position, I would like to think we would all pray to God we are never obliged to confirm our existence in such a gruesome way too.
