As always it's a pleasure to be part of the ever-growing cult of "those who finished the game for the first and last time", for whatever time it will take to finish this playthrough (and hopefully its DLC). I just discovered this channel so it's a bit too soon for me to decide if I'll stay around beyond that, but it wouldn't be the first time I do. This game does that (and everyone is grateful for it). About the lock-on thing, one of these should work: move the mouse / click off click on, unplug/replug the controller, or worst case reassign the button and back - it seems to happen if you alt-tab
I would have this issue when running a game straight for an hour. It’s not only from alt-tabbing. Good news is that you can just click “reset controls” in the menu.
There is a bug with the lock on when playing on controller. I think you need to move the mouse once and then it works again. Cant wait for the next episode ;)
There's quite a few games that have odd controller and mouse glitches when both are hooked up. It's something that really stinks because I'm that person who switches to controller when using vehicles ans back to mouse an board when I exit them, this game being no different lol.

Absolutely love that you're jumping into this. A friend told me about it and I jumped right in...... And played 7 min. Then I stopped and he was pissed. Three years later I finally played it and it quickly became one of my all time favorites and I was mad at myself for having a Squirrel! moment all those years ago. I'm still happy I made him pissed.

Hey there, new to the channel, and I gotta say, this may be one of the most enjoyable starts to this game I've seen. (And I've seen quite a few playthroughs of this game. :P ) Firstly, I loved the little intro, hearing how passionate you clearly are about games, how you like to explore every nook and cranny, and even noticing the little details of characters or the environment. Then seeing the absolute joy and wonder in your eyes as you explored your village, met the people, learned some of the mechanics. Taking your time to read all the signs and talk to everyone. I don't even mind that it took an hour and a half before you lifted off for the first time! xD Your first landing on the Attlerock was one of the best I've ever seen, very well done. It's unfortunate you had that glitch with the lock-on, but I don't think it was anything you did, as I've seen others with the same problem. Thankfully you got it figured out. I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of this series, and can't wait to see your reactions! :D

But what made me keep watching was frankly the upbeat, positive and happy vibe as well as an appreciation for the little things in the game from this youtuber. It seems to me they actually enjoy games and their giddyness, curiosity and anticipation made me remember playing this game for the first time.
@@dayman888 Yes, but then you are going to have to tell where is the point close to the end, besides, if you finish the game and then finish it again the ending is slightly different bringing back that feeling from ending before doing the dlc

This game is incredibly well made with physics, like those balls in the museum are actually moving because of the moon, it isn’t faked, you also jump slightly higher with the moon right above you, it’s so cool
I love how the planets aren't even in set paths, they orbit because of their gravity (If you travel waaaaaay outside the system after skipping the statue link cutscene (makes the loop infinite) and travel back, it'll glitch the planets' gravity and send them into random orbits
If you ever narrated books, I would definitely buy it. Your voice is lovely and I really enjoy you reading the subtitles. Thanks for making this video so much fun

Welcome to the Outer Wilds cult! You mentioned wanting to do something unique. One thing I haven't seen almost anyone do is name the Nomai skeletons. If you pay close enough attention to the story, you can start to unravel the names of most of the skeletons in the game. Also, perfect marshmallow roasting technique. It kills me when someone keeps burning their marshmallows through the entire game. You're clearly made for this game. I can tell this is going to be a good playthrough.

By the time i beat this game, it was 4am and i was sobbing. I both love and hate that this game can only be truly experienced just one magical time. Timber Hearth reminds me of my hometown in Oregon, the rustic atmosphere and the tall trees. Leaving this game was almost like leaving my childhood home again. This game truly is a masterpiece in my eyes, and i envy anyone who gets to experience it for the first time.

It’s always very fun to watch someone new play outer wilds, with the way the game is structured, the things that you find always lead to different discoveries, and seeing or hearing about how someone else played the game is great. In my experience I started on planet A and went somewhere else after that, but I’d find someone else started on planet C and were finding out things I didn’t know for hours before finding them. It's 100% from alt tabbing, which of course streamers/youtubers are constantly alt tabbing. So crazy this bug still exists at this point.

The only game I've seen handle switching from controller to mouse and keyboard and back is Disco Elysium, which I played with mouse and controller.
Alt-tabbing does it. I think it's a Unity thing
If you reset the controls in the menu, it also fixes it.

Did not see this coming but this game is a fantastic puzzle game with a great heartfelt story.
this is my absolute all time fave game, ive watched so many people have fun with it and 8 min in you have accomplished your goal of showing me something new! ive never realized that the marshmallows are canned ^-^

By the time i beat this game, it was 4am and i was sobbing. I both love and hate that this game can only be truly experienced just one magical time. Timber Hearth reminds me of my hometown in Oregon, the rustic atmosphere and the tall trees. Leaving this game was almost like leaving my childhood home again. This game truly is a masterpiece in my eyes, and i envy anyone who gets to experience it for the first time.

Hello I'm new, just wanted to say I've been a gamer since the 80s and of games I've I've ever played, this game is among the most profound gaming experiences I've ever had. I've watched most of this episode and after getting to know Kastaclym persona abit I realize she was born to play this game! I can't wait to experience this again, along side her and see how it touches her soul the way I know it will.

After watching several playthroughs I realised why. Remember, Timber Hearth is a planet of Geysers. Especially the one in the big mountain.
@@runelt99 Honestly it makes me wonder why they have a launch platform. It would feel more Hearthian to just toss your ship into a geiser and wish you luck
@@cleverman383 I assume that it's because the person who made the ship doesn't want it to break. I remember a quote from Feltspar about how he gets nagged for taking the ship into one of giant's deep tornadoes.

Martin's grim blog post titled 'Dark Days' yesterday I needed a bit of a palate cleanser and started watching this playthrough after seeing it pop-up in my UA-cam recommendations. I have to say, this is the first time I watched any of your vids but you capture the sense of wonder and discovery of this masterpiece so well. It's infectious and an absolute joy to watch. Gonna be fun to watch this whole thing through. Said before, as much as I enjoy the AAA games you play, there's something different & special about top notch indie games like Outer Wilds. There's so much love & passion put into them that sometimes feels lacking in some AAA games.

It’s always very fun to watch someone new play outer wilds, with the way the game is structured, the things that you find always lead to different discoveries, and seeing or hearing about how someone else played the game is great. In my experience I started on planet A and went somewhere else after that, but I’d find someone else started on planet C and were finding out things I didn’t know for hours before finding them. Hope you enjoy your journey.
