I think this is one of the only times Janice took center stage. It’s also a good representation of the Mayhem’s dynamic. These guys have each other’s back, come rain, shine, or blood sacrifices.
My all-time favourite Muppet Scene *EVER!* I could watch this a Million times (have watched it probably about half that often) and would still love it.
And decades later, the Electric Mayhem performed this same song at Outside Lands 2016 (though they did the Joe Crocker version then, rather than the original Beatles one shown here)
Yeah, Enchurito is right! The Muppet Show was aimed at adults, but kids loved it anyway, just like I did! Hence the guest stars like the hot Sandy Duncan, Cloris Leachman, and Ben Vereen! These were not children's entertainers!
Jerry Nelson is the only listed performer on Muppet wiki, but if definitely wasn't just him. He probably did the voice. From the looks of things, it was probably at least 4: one for each pair of arms and another for the head.
Jim didn't intend it for it to be viewed as a kids show, the 'lost' first season was called The Muppets: Sex and Violence and if you look at a lot of the jokes and ideas they were aimed at adults as much as kids
I’ve seen this episode before I’ve watched Khulja sim sim Sesame Street in Urdu open sesame when Mumford turns Grover into a rabbit in Urdu before I’ve moved to Virginia in 1999. When I was 6 years old.
When the show first started, Janice was voiced by a girl. Look up Janice Voice Comparison and she was originally voiced by Fran then Erin before Richard Hunt took over.
Yeah now but when her character was first introduced, she was voiced by Fran Brill and Eren Ozker, then Richard Hunt took over and gave her that important groovy valley girl personality making her Janice's true character.
@christinemartin1352 Puppeteered, not just voiced. That's always been a pet peeve of Frannk Oz in particular; he never liked when the performers were only credited for voicing and not puppeteering
Muppet philosophy: no matter what kind of life-threatening situation you're in, it still isn't a bad time to sing.
Dance party
I love Janice. She's always been one of my favorite Muppets.
I absolutely love this skit. RIP Richard Hunt, you were a great singer!

2:58 Anyone who doesn’t appreciate a sketch that displays the value of friendship has no soul.
Best parody of this Beetles song, I've ever come across. Jim, we miss you so much.
No, it's a Beatles song.
Yea she said that
My all-time favourite Muppet Scene *EVER!* I could watch this a Million times (have watched it probably about half that often) and would still love it.
That's One Talented god
"Okay, way to go, Pagans. Nicely worshipped."
I love the giant singing statue too!
This skit may be where, as a child, I first heard this song.
Thank you! I love this! Poor Janice gets SACRIFICED!
Luckily, The rest of The Electric Mayhem (Minus Lips) were there to save her.
@@tf2disneylover1258 I think this was before Lips joined
She was lucky they were there to rescue her.
Yep
wow..the muppets saying "I get high with a little help from my friends"
She said I get BY, not high. Sheesh.
@David Ray She said both, there are different lyrics in each line
I've been looking for this FOREVER! This is better than the original song, hands down.
Everyone who thumbed this down thought have friends who wouldn't rescue them from a giant bird who was trying to cook and eat them .
Me
Indeed the Muppets were aimed at adults! Hence the stars that would only appeal to adults!
And decades later, the Electric Mayhem performed this same song at Outside Lands 2016 (though they did the Joe Crocker version then, rather than the original Beatles one shown here)
hahahahaha that facepalm at the end is just win
Heheheheh, well, it IS Janice we're talking about... did you hear her lines in Great Muppet Caper?
wow Janice does her own song from Paul McCartney from The Beatles
Yeah, Enchurito is right! The Muppet Show was aimed at adults, but kids loved it anyway, just like I did! Hence the guest stars like the hot Sandy Duncan, Cloris Leachman, and Ben Vereen! These were not children's entertainers!
I wonder how many puppeteers it took to control that statue.
Jerry Nelson is the only listed performer on Muppet wiki, but if definitely wasn't just him. He probably did the voice. From the looks of things, it was probably at least 4: one for each pair of arms and another for the head.
Four: one for the mouth and one for each pair of live hands
How wonderful!!
The only way you can get high with a little help from your friends is if your friends do drugs. lol
MichaelBrookham.
I think it is "I get by..."
@@bigo8647 it's both. There are multiple "with a little help from my friends" variations in the lyrics
Facepalm at the end lol
That statue reminds me of Sam.
But the statue is voiced by Jerry Nelson not Frank Oz who does Sam
It's pretty cool, they ever use him with anything else Muppet related?
Me enternece y me encanta ❤️
this is so funny if you have seen the beatles movie Help!
That might be where they got the idea.
Hey! It's Muppet Idol!!
I kept telling my parents this song was on the Muppets and they didn't believe me :|
The muppets back then were far from truly a kids show, only the adults of the time would have really appreciated the guests.
Yeah, it was a primetime variety show, more like laugh-in, carol burnett show, smothers brothers, with the kind of guests you'd expect from them...
Jim didn't intend it for it to be viewed as a kids show, the 'lost' first season was called The Muppets: Sex and Violence and if you look at a lot of the jokes and ideas they were aimed at adults as much as kids
@Darkstar1484 Sex and Violence was the pilot episode, it wasn't an entire season or lost
She does right at 1:46
It and the other video I posted of "while my guitar gently weeps" are both taken from the linda carter episode.
Lynda*
The "Help!" reference at the begining. =) :/
Why is it that when a Muppet does a cover of someones song it sounds ten times better and catchier?:D
You got me.
Because the Muppet performers are amazing singers?
I’ve seen this episode before I’ve watched Khulja sim sim Sesame Street in Urdu open sesame when Mumford turns Grover into a rabbit in Urdu before I’ve moved to Virginia in 1999. When I was 6 years old.

What episode was this on? I've been looking for it for ever.
This is the Lynda Carter episode. Season 4 episode 19. I hope 11 years later that information is useful to you.
love it
Hard to realize that the person who did Janice was a man.
Everyone who did Janice was a man. Janice didn't swing both ways. :D
When the show first started, Janice was voiced by a girl. Look up Janice Voice Comparison and she was originally voiced by Fran then Erin before Richard Hunt took over.

Haven't they used that statue muppet in other sketches?
looks like it got a tiny bit out of sync when I posted it on here, the source video is in sync.
The Beatles had nothing on this song.
Sha11235 They Did Song First
@@hawnmelissa2000 true I heard Paul McCartney sing it before after "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"
2 people can't get by with a help from their friends.
What the hell was wrong with that statue at 2:59
"Really!"
No no they didn't its just the lighting makes the pink shirt not show up as much as normal. You can see the straps and bust of it in some shots.
Beatles + Muppets..tremenda combiancion
And a bit of Indiana Jones, too.
What episode is this from?
While the original was in E Major, this cover is in G Major.
I think zoot is better on saxophone
This is stolen content! the talented and ORIGINAL work is from Richard Short!
