Animal's "WHAAAA?" at 0:19 kills me every time! If I were in James Coburn's place I would have died laughing at that each time before the film crew would be able to get a perfect take of the scene.
caitlinjane92 Seriously, sometimes I dunno how the guest stars could've done these scenes without busting out laughing every single time! Ever see Animal & Rita Mareno doing "Fever"?
Yup, me too. You gotta wonder sometimes how the guest stars didn't crack up in every take, even if they were acting against a bunch of puppets. The personalities Henson & his crew gave these guys are incredible.
"SAR-REEENNEE!!!!!!" -Something just made that moment pop into my head and I just had to go and find it on the UA-cams. Haven't seen it since I was was a kid, but I've never forgotten it. The Muppet Show was one of those little miracles of entertainment that I don't think we ever quite appreciated at the time.
Some trivia: James Coburn was asked by Jim Henson who was his favorite Muppet. He answered Animal!!!!!!!! So naturally James Coburn did more scenes with Animal.
@@SuperColonel91 😲 mine too animal has always been my favorite muppet show character when I was little and still to this day he still my favorite I would love to see a full compilation of animal specially his women quotes Animal: Women Women Women Women Women Women Girl screaming and running away from animal as he turns and faces everyone including Kermit Animal: Women
This was a good episode of "The Muppet Show." I wish they would release Season 5 on DVD so we can watch it already. (And S4 as well while they are at it.)
Perfect! Our man Flint, and our animal, Animal. Always loved James Coburn. Always loved Animal. RIP, darling Jim, and James, and thanx so very much, for the magic, music, and memories. And mayhem. 🙄 Blessed be, gentle men, blessed be.
He was great and also honoring he's late friend Bruce Lee he would laugh but lucky he's late son Brandon and Shannon were children back in the 70s and Jim was there godfather
it amazes me sometimes how some actors - not of them - that went on the Muppet Show would engage with the Muppets as though they were alive instead of puppets.
Paul Wartenberg that's how Jim made them so real you'd never guess they weren't Elmo's actor says it cracks him up when the talk to both him and Elmo at the same time heck one guest star on Sesame Street said it freaked him out when he saw Grover just lying on a table cause it looked like he died and asked some one to help him
My favorite Animal scene is when Dianne Canon was a guest. Animal is looking at a drum set saying “ My drums, my drums, my drums.” Kermit walks by and says “ No no Animal, those are Dianne Canon’s drums.” Animal perks up and yells “MY CANNON! MY CANNON! MY CANNON!” Kermit exclaims “OK! OK! THEY’RE YOUR DRUMS!
That has got to be the most aggressive serenity I've ever seen!
SAAAAREEEEEENE
He aims to misbehave
Animal is totally underrated as a comic genius, his reactions and timing are priceless.
Frank Oz, the genius behind animal and Jim Henson's left hand.
did you really just say a puppet is a comic genius?
Underrated = "I like this thing and I want to feel special for liking it."
Animal is the best.
@@drakemordred2982 Indeed, It was Frank Oz, the puppeteer, who was the comic genius.
He was an amazing actor and is missed❤
Monsters Inc. is one movie of his I watch to honor death.
Always loved Animal. James Coburn was very cool and fun as our man, secret agent, Derek Flint.

This is my favorite scene from the muppets. Animal is just so awesome :D
Watch the duet he did with Rita Moreno, you might just have a new #1 by the end of it! :D
Coburn was a badass. Loved this show.

He nailed that Animal laugh perfectly
SE-RENE! Gotta love Animal! :)
Clearly, this sketch is the inspiration for Animal's anger management persona in The Muppets. Classy.

well, when you're serene it usually means that your aggression is more focused
just so you know season 5 is coming to disney plus
James Coburn studied under Bruce Lee, and worked with the Muppets. Life goals achieved.
Perfect!
Our man Flint, and our animal, Animal.

Between takes the muppeteers play out the characters personality and people soon forget they're puppets
You mean…they’re….not…alive? Well, hot damn.
Animal is the best muppet ever!!!!! He is genius! I have never seen a better Guy!!!!!!! Five from me
James was a real life badass
Love James voice!!
Who wouldn’t? He’s Waternoose! 😎
I love that part of the skit orr6000. I also love it when James asks Animal if he's relaxed and Animal says WHA?
the best drummer of all time
Yep all drummers above vanished from the set.... 😂
Animal is the greatest Muppet ever!
Ah Jimmy Coburn & Animal - Best Casting Ever.
Be one, with ANIMAL.
The guest stars are a "Who's who" of talented personalities with a sense of humor🤭
684 people have confidence that a salute to Japan can result in serenity.

i love animal!!!! the best of the muppets ...from argentina
Ah, James Coburn. A real man.
Yes, he had a penis. He was not a transgender man.
HILARIOUS!! :D But then again, any scene with Animal is hilarious.
I love animal, he's just the coolest drummer and slightly odd. But that's why I love him.
SEEEREEENNNEE TOOOO funny, thats why Animal is my favorite Muppets character of all time

I love that part of the skit submerqe28. I also loved when James asks Animal if he's relaxed and Animal says WHA?
Thank you
Love how James neckgrabs Kermit than laughs at end !😆✌️ Wish they still made shows like this instead of the garbage nowadays.
Kermit's probably lucky that he took the hint!...
James Coburn was actually one of BRUCE LEE'S students!!😂👍
James Coburn f-ing ROCKS.

My favorite Animal scene is when Dianne Canon was a guest. Animal is looking at a drum set saying “ My drums, my drums, my drums.”

Legends. ❤️
I'm wondering if this episode is where the movie The Muppets got the idea for "IN CONTROL..."
I never new he did the muppet show, I would have liked to see him and david carradine in a kung fu scene
I love this scene. They almost recreated the same scene in the Muppets movie (2011)
this makes me wish I watched the muppet show when I was little
71 people are clueless to how great this is...
Boo Hoo to them..
Great scene with Animal👍
Serene - nice - peaceful.
does anyone have a clip of James Coburn singing Alexander's Ragtime Band on the Muppet Show?
Id LOVE to see that again...
Always loved animal,AN-I-MAL!!!
R.I.P. Jim Henson.
And James Colburn... 😔
Animal and zen meditation...two things that will never, ever go together.
" Med-a-tation. Frog"
Are you relaxed?
WHAAAA??
James Coburn i dont know how you managed to do this without laughing or smiling especially with Animal.
I guess its In like Flint .
Mr. Waternoose !!
and Looten Plunder, well in the DIC seasons anyway
perfect loop scene
Good one. 😀
I'm just picturing Mr. Waternoose giving Animal a meditation lesson.
James: Kermit we want to do something serene.
Animal: SERENE!
Animal rocks!
animals legs are like CARROTS!
“Now Animal if you can control yourself you will enter a state of relaxation. You’re getting deeper and deeper relaxed. Relaxed. Are you relaxed?”
@TheSRalston He's only one of two I know of in the show who could control Animal - the other being Zoot the Saxaphone player.
