6 years later and this vid is still helping people. Thanks man
Could you access the adapter site? it’s not letting me
@@Joey-ci4zu Just search for "Ram projector light adapter" and youll see a bunch pop up
VERY well made video. Thanks for taking the time to make it. Just installed projectors on my 2010 2500 and thanks to you, it could not have been easier!
Nice work...I upgraded mine and also switched to some HID's and LED's in the rear. I like your self tapping screws better than my 3M pads that came with my HID kit. Looking forward to your Subwoofer upgrade video...Swapping out my hole in the dash for the upper glove box kit and installing my new 6x9's to the front doors in the morning--your other video helped me decide how to do a set of Alpine S619 to match the back doors...thanks for doing these.
Kick ass brother. Was wanting to do this but was told you cant. But now I see the light
Thank you for sharing your install tips of our product!
RetroShopLights do you have a link to your website
Nice! I did the same with my 2010. Mine only used one resistor each side but they were a bit harder to mount since I have hids installed so the ballast and canbus adaptors were also taking up room. Def the hardest part of the install lol. But also another not if you the the 09-12 is the adjustment holes don't line up with these so to adjust the lights so you don't blind oncoming traffic you have to remove and adjust kind of a pain but man does these look good 😁 makes it worth it! Good job!
Looks much better.
This is easily done without removing the grill. Just need a long extension for your ratchet. Did mine over the weekend.
Awesome. I’ll be doing this soon!
Good how-to vid. I already have projectors, but want to change the lamps out to more powerful HIR 1 bulbs and wasn't sure how the headlights came out.
Nice to see some diversity. With the mustang lurking around too :D
Thanks for sharing.. just realized you are in Austin also.
i've removed the headlights on a 2014 lonestar without having to remove the grill. also, i think they sell a new adapter that no longer requires them to be grounded.
Looks good!
Thank you
I'll be looking for the Triumph build. I have a 1966 Bonneville that I have restored.
good video. cool garage.
Great vid! Thanks!!
Helpful
Thanks for the help. Off topic question.... What size tires are on that truck?
A thank you is a must.. and comment on that beautiful mustang you have on the back ground the hall video once again thank you
How do you connect other wires and plugs to your truck the once came from it cause you have different plugs on it at first!!!
Thanks man !!!!
where did you get the big plug that plugs into the headlight?
What year is your truck and did you have DRL on your original lights that came with the truck ? and if so......do the new lights also have the DRL function ?......i have a 10 Ram 1500 SLT with the same original lights, but i have DRL function on mine, just wondering if that function would still work on the new lights ?.......good video, very informative 👍......thanks in advance
Do you know if running HID or LED bulbs still would work as normal??
Can you change the color of the new lights like from amber to blue or white using LEDs?
I want to do this but I’m going with the sport projectors
Did you change the head lights to hid or led or did you leave the stock bulbs in
Look into AlfaOBD, you can avoid all the resistors!!!
Do your DRL's work? I installed some in my lonestar and they didn't work. They're supposed to be on during the day if you have your lights set to auto but mine don't. Turn signals and everything work just fine, just no DRLs.
hi classic octane bro i have a question if i have a ram 1500 2011 laramie can i put those headlights because i love it but all headlights OEM i found in ebay are for rams 1500 2013+ soo me question is can i really fit any OEM on my truck ram 1500 2011 laramie ? TY BRO ( MI RAM 1500 HAVE THE SAME OLD HEADLIGHTS LIKES YOU)!
Thanks for the video. What is the name of the adapter? Where did you get them? Thanks
How do you like the new lights over stock ?
Man, those lights look awesome in you truck, and you make the install look easy. I would like to do the same to my 2016 SLT.....can you please post the part # if you have it? Thanks for sharing, great video
I have the same year and model as you. Here is the adapter link:
shop.retroshop.us/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=13%2EAdapt
Did you add the fog lights?
Is the light output better than the quads headlight?
I thought you needed to run a relay from the battery so your not overloading the stock headlight circuit?
What would I type in to get the correct DRL module. One of my friends truck burnt and he gave me the headlights out of it mine is a twelve and his was a 14 I have it hook up and the parking lights are so bright all you see is orange lol. If anyone could tell me it would be greatly appreciated
I just bought '14 Ram SLTand i want change to the Big Horn lights. I tried to find the link for the resistors but couldn't find it. Being that your video is 6 years old do you know if there's been any improvement to the resistors or has anything simpler been made? What should I type in in order to find something on Amazon?
Good video but your link is broken to the adapter
I love watching headlight vids that say you have to remove the grill... i never remove my grill and never broke anything
You can if you don't have grill covers, put them on then the grill has to come off.
What year is your truck? Would these fit my 2011 ram?
just removed mine without removing grill. Just need a 12" extension to get to the bottom bolt. No problem and quick.
It only takes 2 minutes extra to take the grille off. Plus, there's spacers on the bottom bolts that may throw the beam off if they aren't thr same length on both sides.
How many ohm's are those resistors?
Hola de casualidad no tienes foto del conector ya que estoy haciendo el harnees desde cero me. Ayudarías
Glad on the 1500’s you don’t have to remove the grill
mine get condensation. got it replaced yesterday.. and it happend again
My 12 has 2 10mm bolts
If you have day time running lights, are they the orange led or high beam?
Jason P I believe there still the high beam
will you get the rear 2013 tail lights to match?
Yeah, I would love to get the LED taillight too at some point.
Hi did the resister come with the Kit or did you order that from somewhere else also have 2014 ram 1500 with regular headlight and just got 2014 oem projector headlight but my wiring don't match. I appreciate your help and thank you. your truck looks awesome.
Everything you need comes in the kit outside of the headlight assembly.
Thank you Sir for the help.
Where did you buy the projector headlights from
Just got them used off Craigslist.
Can you change the bulbs to white? Led specifically
I will try that soon and report back.
Great how to video, what was the total cost for the upgrade
I found a good deal on the OEM lights on Craigslist so it really depends on that. I think it was right around $400 total for everything.
What year is your truck? Will those kind of projectors fit my 2011 dodge ram 1500
2013, it should be the same for your 2011. Just make sure to get the correct adapters.
The OEM projectors will fit any Ram 1500/2500+ from 2009 to 2018 as long as you have the correct harness to trick the truck into believing its factory.
The projector lights are self-adjustable, (move up and down) does your lights do that?!
Thank you!
I'm honestly not totally sure. I know they are aimed correctly but I have never seen them move on their own.
These trucks don't have auto adjust. To adjust there is a screw on both fenders. You'll see an arrow pointing toward the hole. You'll need a 7mm to adjust the light up or down.
LOL,,,,,I have the projector lights on my 2017 Ram 3500 and can’t wait to up grade them,,,,,cuz they are junk!
But then I am spoiled because I also have a 2017 Ford with LEDs.
I plan on getting the projector headlights but, I'd like to put hid in them, would i still need that adapter and the blue box?
Joshua Baudoin yes because they adapter allow you to go from the quads to the projectors
Where can I get those adaptors? I upgraded my headlights and am getting hyper flashing. I have 50 watt resistors installed. Still hyper flashing.
Also, with the AlphaODB app you can change the settings in your trucks computer. You would then be able to run HID's or LED's without using any resisters or so called can-bus or anti-flicker modules. It will also eliminate any fault codes or warning lights on the dash.
can i do the same on my 2012 dodge ram? i mean installing those 2013 projector lights on it.
Yeah, this should work for any 2009+ ram
@@ClassicOctane Did you have to adjust height on any of em To get the lights even?
Does the Hi-beam work?
Yes, everything works just like the original.
The link of adapters isn't working.😢
They have upgraded this part where you can now just plug and go with no big blocks or grounding needed.
say who has upgraded? Ram ? I have 2018 tradesman looking to do this can I just buy new ones and plug them in?
Retro fit ? Or who ?
Where did you purchase the adapters

Dumb question (since I can’t find an answer) I have a 2011 3500 Laramie. I need to know if the newer projecter headlights will work with my truck. Any one know?
Fiddle the lights I used in this video are from a newer Ram. You should be good as long as you get the correct wiring adapters.
Classic Octane Appreciate it brotha, I haven’t really gotten a straight answer yet lol. Gonna be sure to get some more headlights now :)
Are these headlight ram OEM or are they aftermarket thanks.
They are OEM.
“What’s up guys”
They have a version 2 that doesn't require the extra work you had to do.
Brenton Nikolaus what do you mean version 2?
what year was this truck?
2013
Does that come in a set of two for $135 or do I gotta buy 2 ???
Bmurt95 yes it comes in a set . Just make sure you choose your year of truck correctly. The 2013 and up use two resistors I believe . same price.
miguel herrera thanks for the quick response and thanks for the video, very helpful
It comes with both in the set.
Where did you get your projectors at??
Craigslist.
How much did you give for them?
PIRANA131313 look into TYC ram projectors. From what I have read they are oem quality and I’ve also read that TYC makes Rams projectors. They are half the cost too.
You dont need to take any of that off lights come right out without removing grill lol i do it daily.
Why is it so difficult for people to say what year vehicle they are working on?
All that and we don’t get to see them light up
What year truck is this?
2013
Classic Octane thanks
So the adapter kit comes with the resistors? How much is that kit ?
It does, their new version is $135.
Nice!
Classic Octane does the the new version not have the resistors? Cause I was looking for the harness as well and the one on their website don’t have the resistors.
To be honest i'm not sure. I have only every used this kit.
where did you get your adapter kit. thanks
Upgrading to asshole headlights, those are great. 👍
Why does everyone insist on removing the grille to change headlights in a 4th gen Ram? Completely unnecessary.
Did you change the head lights to hid or led or did you leave the stock bulbs in
