Loved the lesson, I have just picked up a brush for the first time I am 67 yrs old. I just never thought I could do it. I could never even paint a wall but I am inspired by your tutorial to give it a go. I have always been a little bit crafty but only textiles, wool, fabrics etc. Due to my arthritis I need to stop needle craft so I have turned my attention to painting, well, trying anyway.

Wow, this boat watercolor is everything! I truly appreciate your painting tutorials using a large size of watercolor paper, whether it be 9 x 12" or 11 x 14". Too often these demonstrations here on YT are done using 5 x 7" (or even 4x6"), where it's nearly impossible to utilize the splattering technique, adding masking fluid, etc. Thank you for these tutorials!

You are really a good artist. You explain the things very clearly. N the most important thing is that you tell the ratio of colour n techniques in video. Mostly artist didn't show that. That's why I love your video.

Hi Paul. Love your work. But a little feedback: as a beginner, i find the tutorials really fast. I cant keep up and i just keep making a mess. It would be helpful if you could also show the actual mixing of the paint, not just the painting. Thanks
Thanks for the tip! - Yes, if you look at my more recent videos I show the mixing.
You can slow down the playback speed by clicking on the 3 dots in the upper righthand corner. Hope this helps
Go into the settings on the video and adjust the playback speed 😊
I stop the video until I catch up and then watch next minute or so and stop again, and so on.
I find it easier to watch the videos on my iPhone, and take screenshots throughout the video. Then I go to my local library and print them all out that way I have something to keep I can redo over and over again.

I loved painting this, as I'm a kayaker. It turned out pretty well. Hard part for me was drawing the boat and painting the shadows.

Another great video. I will paint it a second time now to see how much I've learned. I find that watching the videos several times helps me a lot. The first time is to watch it without following along, another is to follow along and see where the problems are. The third is to follow along and try and solve them. Anyway, thanks a lot. I find your videos very easy to follow and a good combination of loose to controlled. I am comfortable with it.
