One of the interesting parts of this is that Gojo and Marin are somewhat swapped in gender roles; Like gojo's behavior and interests are much more in line with a traditional female character while Marin is somewhat more masculine in the combination of her being bold, outspoken and kind of pervy.

Upvote for that line alone. Truly sick of it in so many animes.
But that leads into why I watched the show--Marin is NOT that normal psycho bitch waifu. She's not flawless, sure, but there's no mean-spirited jealousy, violent tendencies, unreasonable lashing out, frustrating psycho behavior, or anything like that with her. She's actually good natured, non-judgmental, and openly sweet to everyone in general, and to her crush in particular. A refreshing change of pace.
Primarily a loyalty watch here, but I've also heard good things about this anime. Never actually watched it - because who has the time - but I've heard many people who genuinely enjoy her character and personality beyond simple, "girl look cute, _doki doki_ ."

I would argue Chaotic Good. Marin goes out of her way to support and reassure people that their passions are valid and they don't need to feel wierd about them selfs.
In the Japanese society, that is all about following the norm, and being a member of the group before being an individual, that is both Chaotic and Good of her part

Reminds me of my girlfriend, we are both disgusting weebs who love to nerd out waaaaaaaay to much. Funnily enough, we watched this series together and we both related an almost uncomfortable amount to Marin.

It's a mix of the 2. I love how "alive" she feels for an anime girl. Also her love for anime reminds me of my girl and her love for video games. She's a bigger gamer than me and introduced me to a lot of games

while I would love to see that the fan in me saying to wait for the anime to catch up to the cruise arc or some of the manga since around that arc Yor some really interesting character development that would be great for the video
About Komi san, and I should probably post this in the Komi san video, but it was pointed out to me that said anime/manga us bot meant to be a fantasy about being Tadano but rather Komi.
Just as there are main characters in harem and isekai series (and isekai harems) Komi only trait is how pretty she is and how the universe twist itself to make her happy from the moment she met Tadano as a compensation for a decade and a half without social life.
How the fantasy is not about an average guy saving the pretty girl from loneliness but rather a fantasy of a girl getting everything most people wish, a supportive boyfriend, many friends, fun times and fond memories of our school life.
I don't agree 100% with that but I can sort of see what they mean.
If you are interested in more romance/slice of life animes, I would recommend Kaguya-sama: Love is War.
It is really funny and it finished a very strong third season last season.
On the other hand it has already three seasons...
I love Marin’s character because she’s such a kind and caring person she is especially towards gojo and the whole show just makes me happy and puts me in a good mood. Excellent writing and perfect animation ESPECIALLY the cosplay!! like the animation budget for this show must have been absolutely ridiculous!

the JJBA MC's would be good alignment videos, unlike good boy Jonathan, the other ones are VERY grey in their actions (since you brought him up heh, even if he was fighting a vampiric straizo, joseph pulling a tommy gun AND GRENADES out in public for example lol)

It's a wholesome romance with great comedy and a compelling story.
Don't have a girlfriend (19 and I'm still working on it) and Marin's not my "type" (she's still great, mind you). Just liked the show for being a compelling work of art.
Stuart, your video is what gave me the final push to watch this series and I can't get enough. These two are such a cute pair and I love Gojo's exaggerated reactions, plus Marin's pep and enthusiasm. Seeing that goofy face she has in the Black Lobelia cosplay just makes me smile like a doofus.

Marin's flying head smash is a physical manifestation of a Japanese idiom something close to 'A girl fell from the sky'. Once you are aware of it you can find it a few times spread throughout anime. It's similar to 'On a dark and stormy night' for kickstarting a narrative.

Both a loyalty and curiosity watch. Wasn't too interested in this anime because didn't have the time. Spy X Family though, you definitely need to cover that! It is absolutely a great show with each of the three leads deserving coverage!

I like Marin because she really likes goji for who he is. And fell in love with him when he was speaking with his grandpa about his work.
I like goji because he’s the first male protagonist in a while that isn’t a total perv or isn’t totally blowing the girl who loves him off. He’s just a nervous teenage boy who doesn’t wanna be creepy, but is still a teenage boy so he can only do his best to hide his feelings. He also loves his work and has had one dream his whole life, and through Marin, is finding the strength and confidence to achieve that dream

Mine is a Loyalty Watch. I've never heard of Marin Kitagawa or My Dress-Up Darling, but I'll listen to at least the first few minutes of what you have to say about them.
Edit: Ended up watching the whole video. It looks like a cool show (though, tbh, I'll probably never watch it because I spend my free time enjoying other pursuits, like watching UA-cam videos). I like its down-to-earth characters and setting and low stakes. It seems like the kind of show a person can hang out with, if only to chill.

I'm watching this because I genuinely enjoy wholesome relationships now where is this isn't the most 100% family-friendly kind of wholesome it is a wholesome relationship between a boy and a girl and it's super sweet and just adorable
I do want to add that something that I do enjoy with this series is the very elegant bouncy animation with like the hair in the arms and the subtle gestures it's very well done and it's gorgeous the animation to be clear I can already see the comments

I could not disagree more with the season ending with a "fizzle" that final phone call had my heart in a goddamn vice grip that was so unbelievably sweet.
Maybe at the end of its season you could do Nazuna and Komori from Call of the night.

I have no idea about this anime, I just clicked because it was the first time in a bit that I saw you on my page.
I have two perspectives on this: One as who I am as a person, and one as my generational identity.
This anime seems really nice and I love to see a slice of life anime that not only portrays people as people, but makes high schoolers like... actual high schoolers. Like, yeah, there are a lot of dicks in every generational lot, but this felt truly like how it was in my school, you have a lot of cool people who you just don't really talk to normally and when you find something you connect on? You can hit it off and get a group together. What also really inspires me about this is that it treats people as people and is just positive. The camera guy wasn't a villain, Merin wasn't an oversexualized stereotype, people's interests weren't treated like some taboo thing by their peers. As someone who is older Gen Z, I find this anime rather refreshing from the synopsis you gave. It actually seems like a clever show with good writing that enjoys being what it is.
So all in all, I feel like this is going to be a general touchstone for my generation's more "weird" people who have interests that they don't really think they can share because honestly? I miss having those random conversations that sound awful to hear outside of the context and I miss hearing them myself. People expressing themselves in healthy and creative ways should feel safe to find their community and this brings some hope for the pop-culture sphere to me.
However my upbringing has me as a totally different type, which is to say: I was raised in a house that did this stuff regularly and oh my god do they bring up some valid issues that occur. My mother was a seamstress and photographer, and I was her assistant most of the time. Genuinely, it has made me more of who I am today than school did. I can't tell you much about what happened in the four years of High School, but I can bitch and moan about some of the things that posed an issue for photography and modelling.
Like having two weeks is short, but it's not terrible, you can work with it, especially having someone on hand to ensure everything fits perfectly. Nothing is fucking worse than prepping an outfit for someone who gives you their sizes themselves and they were off by like two inches and the whole thing looks funny because it is too big in the wrong areas and doesn't fit right or it is too small and if they managed to get it on, one shoulder shrug and a stitch pops and you lose the arm from the outfit.
And the breathability of material is fucking a requirement to think about. Nobody thinks "Oh hey, I should keep it fairly minimal with things like layers" during their first costume like that, and when they try and do anything in the middle of summer with it on? You go from "I look great, this is incredible!" to "I wanna rip this thing off and go sit under a cold shower for 15 minutes, I can feel my clothes adhering to my body, why?!"
So both from professional and personal standards; this is just an incredible anime all around, at least from what I have know about it.
Yo, now that you mention it, I would love to see you do an alignment video on Naofumi or Raphtalia from The Rising of the Shield Hero. Since Season 2 ended recently and season 3 is on the way, it might be a good time to take a look in my opinion. Another show that has a season 3 on the way is Konosuba...just saying. Either way, love your work and I look forward to all of your future videos.

1. I adore Marin. Her character makes me smile and cry WAY too much
2. I wasn't expecting an alignment for a slice of life comedy character and I HAD to know how it would roll out

My fiancee is also a cosplayer too, though she and Marin don't have too much in common.
Though, I do have something in common with her. I too can eat as much as I want and not get fat.
Also, I have to disagree with your take on the ending of the season.
I loved how warm and fuzzy the ending is.
And to answer your last two questions, Yes SpyxFamily is fun, but Yor doesn't have a lot of scenes so you'll be a little short on things to analyze in the first 12 episodes.
And Honestly, my fiancee is somewhere in the middle of Marin, Uzaki, and Komi.
An outgoing, friendly little chaos gremlin that freezes hard when faced with a social encounter that she isn't prepared for.

I like this mini series of looking at Waifus and how each is so different. Love is a messy thing and nobody has the same experience. Still Marin is so based it makes other relationships look weak just because she is willing to communicate her true feelings, no silence or covering up with anger/teasing. God I hate standard romcom troubles that can be easily solved by healthy communication.
Also you should totally do Yor of SpyxFamily, but after the second part of season 1 is done in December. More waifu content means more alignment dings.

You should hands down do the entire Forger family from Spy x Family. Also, the reason I clicked on this vid isn't necessarily because I considering Marin my waifu but more because the relationship she's developing with Gojo is the kind I wanted to find in my youth and am still pursuing even now. I find this anime very pleasing to watch and its characters very charming and wholesome.

Every time I've seen Marin just slam her head into Gojo's desk I grab the back of my head in sympathy pain.
She basically has all the ingredients to make a Mean Girl (attractive, popular, fashionable, has money, light Gal style), but is absolutely not one. That’s why she’s so likable.
Gojo is definitely a summer child. He basically lives a hundred years in the past outside of school.
Gotta say, the love hotel scene was somehow both wholesome(?) and the most sexual-tension-filled scene I’ve seen recently in _any_ medium.

I just like Marin because she kinda reminds me of some friends I had in High School (we were *only* friends though, nothing more, I never dated any of them because they were already in a relationship with someone else by the time I had gotten to know them, and I was completely fine with that, I simply enjoyed their company on those occasions that we spent time together). They really did me some good in the long run as well, as they helped me to "come out of my shell" more in school, as I tended to be rather quiet and a bit of a shy wallflower at times (despite me being one of the biggest and bulkiest guys in school, I was well-known as just being a nice [if quiet] and laid-back guy), but they helped me get more comfortable with just relaxing and being myself. I honestly think that anyone would benefit from having someone like Marin in their life.

As for Spy x Family, I would argue to hold off on it simply because the show and manga are ongoing. So it would be too soon to start. The thing with Lloyd and Anya is that their alignments don't really change. Yor being an assassin would probably make the most dramatic alignment shift and probably the most interesting overall (waifu aside).
...then again, you could argue that for this show as well.
