Obviously, I get very personal in this video. Just know that while we may disagree on certain things I will always respect a difference in opinion. What I don't accept from people is judging others for how they cope with trauma. Please know that if you want to skip this video, you have my blessing to do so and I won't get offended. Okay dude…sat through the end.
I get everything you’re saying. I really do. While not identical, I’ve been in a similar place where you find catharsis in the void. I see exactly what you’re saying and I recognize the artistic intent/execution. Before I drop the pretty big “but” that’s been hanging over my prelude, I want to tell you what I’m about to say doesn’t come from a place of condemnation or shame…
      BUT
I do implore you to think about why this kind of power/revenge fantasy is so appealing to you. Not in a “this is my logical explanation of my emotional response” kind of way, rather: “why is this doing for me?” At the risk of being unfathomably pretentious, I’m going to quote and elaborate on Nietzsche.
-“He who battles monsters must be careful to not become one. When you stare into the abyss the abyss stares back into you.”
-“That which does not kill you makes you stronger.”
This quote of his, like most of Nietzsche’s work, is poorly understood because it requires the fuller context beyond the quote itself. A cornerstone of Nietzsche’s philosophy is not only the necessity but the good that comes from the facing down the darkness. There is catharsis and reprieve in it that the path of light, love, and forgiveness just can’t always provide. Sometimes it’s better to finish the war than to accept a begrudging and resentful peace. With all that said, one must also be able to exit the darkness. The darkness is useful, necessary, and out and out essential to a balanced and fulfilled life, but it does have an intoxicating allure. It feels good enough to dull the mind and scatter the senses. Not meant as kink shaming, but there is a point where defending your kink can just be justification for wallowing in the darkness.
While I wholly recognize the case against shows like this are often poorly made, mostly because they come from a place of shallow moral protestlitizing. There still is a very important case to be made against them. The carnal ecstasy it advertises front, center, and ceaselessly is precisely the allure of darkness of which I speak. That’s what gets people to wallow. It’s one thing to discover “the forbidden pool” and you go off to find it and even if you look into it, hell even if you go for a swim in it, not only is that not necessarily a bad thing but can even be a good thing for you in that moment. BUT if you find yourself returning to it time and time again, there’s a problem.
Shows like this are an example of society returning to the dark pool. I’m going to draw a comparison between shows like this and Berserk. Berserk is every bit as dark and morally black as any of the other shows that have sparked moral panic and outrage in recent years. The difference between something like Berserk and these kind of shows is that the former is a pool that wants you to get out of it. The latter doesn’t. The sexual power fantasy of Redo ends when the person consuming it moves on from/fills the void inside themselves. As such, the work itself has a vested interest in keeping you in that place. Berserk wants you to reach its conclusion; not just textually but emotionally as well. It wants you to defeat your “Griffith” and free your “Casca”. Guts is the exemplar to show you how to do it.
Redo is quite literally, by the text itself, about spreading the pain and misery of your traumas to the world in a never ending, lust fueled crusade of vengeance. This something we haven’t seen since the dark days of OVA ultra violence. This is something I haven’t seen since Violence Jack. Just because the animation is cleaner, character models more appealing, and the depictions of such acts is less brutal/more “alluring” doesn’t change the fact that’s still what it is.
So while I’m not “kink shaming” I’m also not going let people hide behind that flimsy ass excuse of a shield. Really ask yourself, “why am I justifying returning to the dark pool?” You might not like that answer but everyone who supports this kind of show needs to ask themselves that. As a society we also need ask why such “kinks” are rising to the surface. There is a deep sickness being spoken to by the rise of this “genre”…problem is that most of the moral panic crowd that’s complaining the loudest about it are really just authoritarians looking to justify a different but similar darkness of their own. They’re returning time and time again to another dark pool.
Shows like this aren’t “ruining the world” but they are symptoms of a deeper sickness in the culture that a simplistic moral dichotomy cannot handle.

Not only that, Keyaru can even serve to both give catharsis to people who have been severely wronged/abused in some way, and to also give people a sort of "mirror" to see what kind of person they could become themselves if they had ever allowed their past experiences to twist, warp, and corrupt them. It is never indicated that Keyaru's actions overall are "good" or "heroic" (sure, he has rare instances of showing a capacity for being a nicer and kinder person, but those moments are heavily overshadowed by his far more numerous malicious and malevolent actions), it's unquestionably wrong and evil, but Keyaru became that way due to the toxic influence and abuse of others. You can understand *why* he turned into a monster and pity the "death" of the kind person he used to be, all while also understanding that he is by no means someone worth emulating, and that in an ideal situation, someone would stop him.
There's a reason why I had a personal connection to Alice in Persona 5 Strikers: I knew *exactly* how she felt, and I knew exactly what kind of trauma she had gone through, but even so, I still knew that she was going way too far and needed to be stopped. She was a reflection of the kind of person that *I* could have become if I didn't have friends and family who were there for me when I needed them the most.
Hell, Keyaru's entire party would be a good "template" for a sort of "Villain Party", where they could very easily serve as recurring villains in a D&D campaign (as either PCs in an "Evil Campaign" or as NPC adversaries).

So, I finally want to say this, mostly because I think it's true but also because I feel it needs to said. Kayaruga and by extention the show addresses something that most people in modern society ignore. The effects of abuse on men. We see hundreds of ads and other media supporting abused women and granting them the support they need. However, rarely, if ever, is the effects of abuse in men discussed in society.
Men simply can't be raped, physically or emotionally abused. They can certainly do those things to others, but it can't happen to they themselves, especially, with regards to women abusing men.
Princess Flare may not be wielding the whip or knife or poisoning him directly, but she is the root cause of everything that happens to him before Kayaruga rewinds time. He falls to darkness by being a prisoner in his own body through the drugs he's forced to take to work with the "heroes." It's fitting for Flare to have the same done to her, if not worse.

I think that "healing" doesn't work as name too.
Infraredseeing, memory rewriting and copy powers aren't very fitting abilities for something like that. Even time reset is questionable.
Basic healing alone would just give you instant regeneration so that you become immune against slice and distance attacks.
Cancer could also be a possible basic heal ability because through the healing of the cells you cause such reactions. This is however a far more advanced version.
Virus healing would also be logical because you heal functions of the virus so that it can become "alive" again ( I say "alive" because strictly spoken virus are currently not considered as living beings).
      - Stamina restoration is also a logical ability.
Now, if we want go the same route like here and stretch the concept of "healing", then the "higher" abilities should be:
      - repairing (because it is a form of restoration)
      - memory restoration ( same reason)
      - ressurection could work
      - soul restoration would be possible too
      - techniquelly you COULD let him give emotional manipulation in the sense that he restores the emotions from his target which he or she felt 5-10 minutes. But that's almost borderline.
And the final borderline ability would be to turn people and matter into their "primordial form".
That means, human turn to cells and swords for example turn to iron ore.
      But that's very very borderline.

I don't consider Redo of Healer to be about a serious exploration of how trauma affects people and I think *no one* should get that kind of idea from this series. I say this because that implies that people who experienced the same trauma would act in anyway similar to Keyaru which is definitely not the case because the way they write the character and his trauma is extremely unrealistic. The character was drugged and raped by other people who consistently abused him for at least 4 years and yet despite suffering this horrific situation has zero problems with drugging others and becoming a serial rapist. It should be apparent to anyone that this is NOT how an actual victim of this type of stuff would behave. For some, even *consensual* sex is something that they aren't comfortable with immediately after such an ordeal. Keyaru's lack of squeamishness with using rape as a tactic should just go to show that he is a fictional character who does not reflect reality in any sort of way.

My personal philosophy in life is very simple. As long as it doesn't endanger or harm others, and as long as you do not try to shove your own beliefs down my (or someone else's) throat, then you're free to believe or like whatever you want. More power to you. Even if you believe or like something that I personally disagree with. It's when you try to force your own beliefs onto others that I draw the line.
The way I see it, if you use something like this for the sake of discussion, then there's nothing wrong with that. Sometimes it's good to talk and debate about this kind of thing. Keyaru's actions are undeniably wrong, but it's also a good indication of how "evil" people could simply have been good people at first who turned into monsters due to the abuse and toxic influence of others.
I mean, Alice in Persona 5 Strikers was someone that needed to be stopped too, but she was, much like Keyaru himself, a product of her environment. She only became the abusive bully she was because of the abuse that she was subjected to herself (a sad, classic case of bully syndrome). I connected with her on a personal level because, in a way, she was a mirror of what I could have become if not for my friends and family being there for me when I needed them the most. I went through almost exactly the same kind of abuse that Alice did, and so I understood her trauma and motivations, even though I knew that she was going too far and had to be stopped. Thankfully, in Alice's case you *do* stop her before she goes too far, and she goes back to being the good and kind person she was in the first place.

I also think the show has some decent first signs of character growth and great potential for character development should it ever get a second season.

God, this show is like a double edged sword for me, because it’s story and characters are amazing and thought provoking in how it shows once kind, normal people being broken and shattered by horrific monsters, then going back for his revenge against them, and how the stuff that he does is so incredibly awful, it makes you wonder “I mean I know they were terrible, but damn, did they deserve THIS?!” Because the protagonist’s actions are almost, if not just as reprehensible as the “heros’” themselves, but given the things they’ve done, you’re not particularly sure, and that moral dilemma is extremely fascinating to me.
On the other hand though GODDAMN some of the stuff that happens in this show is so screwed up even Jigsaw’s sayin “bruh” like that’s not a knock against the show itself, more so how spooked I was while watching it, but still, DAMN

You are not supposed to like the main character, you are not supposed to think he's justified in anything he does, you are not even really supposed to root for him. This is a monster of the villains' own making that is on a self-destroying quest to utterly annhilate them and everything they care about in a blind fury. This show is not one where the hero wins. This show is one where the villains eat each other alive.

To quote a new favourite character from a webcomic I read "the quickest path to *true evil* is to *forget* what evil *is* . In all of our lives there will be moments when there are *only* bad options to choose from. The easiest path is to make excuses. To say the *least evil* option is *good* . HenshinFanatic the big problem with your idea and the quotes being use as a example, are that they heavily depend on if your already a “good” person in the first place or if you can even understand what a “good” person is. Have you ever heard of the quote that one man good is another man’s evil or even the villain Bane’s quote from DC , I was born in the darkness, molded by it, by the time I seen the light, I was already a man and by then it was blinding.
Light can’t exist without darkness, evil can’t exist without good. It perfectly ok to not like something but no one needs to justify there reasoning for anything, unless they want to and they shouldn’t have to just because someone else doesn’t like it. Plus you shouldn’t argue again a twist mindset because that usually never works out, you show accept it and work around it if you want to get anywhere fast.
Also all paths are valid of you allow them to be and there no so such thing as a easy path, it just a path that you think is easy but to someone else it could be the hardest.

After watching the entire thing, I've gotta say it was pretty brave of you to release this video. After hearing your explanation of the plot and characters, I can almost see why someone would be into a series like this, aside from the sex scenes. Villain Protagonists can be very compelling if done well. One of my favorite series of all time, Legacy of Kain has a main character who is arguably evil, and it's one of the best written series in fiction. However, Keyaruga, in my opinion, doesn't have enough redeeming qualities to make him compelling. Yes, he's miserable because of his trauma and the lack of genuine love and affection in his life, despite the fact that he always wins and always gets what he wants, and yes some of those people deserve justice, but for me it isn't cathartic to see a monster enact disproportionate retribution on other monsters. The video, despite your good explanations of the characters and their motivations and actions, didn't really change my opinion of the series all that much. I won't disparage people for liking it, as it's not harming anyone, but for me, I just don't get it.

His power is one I would classify as empathetic healing. The original version of said power is to take ones wounds into yourself in order to heal another. The nature of his power is to allow him to emotionally connect with others suffering. However, he chooses to inflict the same pain he has endured onto others. Unfortunately this is something that does occur in real life.
Those that suffer pain choose to inflict that same pain in order to force perspective and so that they will no longer be the victim of such pain and instead its perpetrator. This where I argue the character is primarily a villain out right.
For if someone were to suffer such torturous pain, just to inflict it on others so they can exercise some control is far from anything good. They know the pain… and would choose to be a monster they so hated not to feel that pain again.

I would actually say that his first action in the series should be chaotic good. As we come to find out later in the series, he was “awake” for some time before the raid on the demon king but chose to stay in the abusive environment because of the opportunity afforded to him to steal the stone out from under the heroes.
He could have done a whole host of things. He could have seized power for himself, undone the damage of the war, or just committed mass genocide, all of which could be seen as “healing the world”. Instead he let things play out a second time, knowing the pain it would cause him. It could have been motivated purely out of a sense of vengeance, but at that point everyone that had wronged him was dead, with the exception of Flare, who he could have toyed with and broken just as easily as we saw play out in the second timeline.
It really doesn’t matter at the end, but it’s interesting to me at least.

There's a line in the F.E.A.R. games that sums up Keyaru beautifully: "It is the nature of men to create monsters, and it is the nature of monsters to destroy their creators."
It was the cruelty of her father that turned Alma into the high octane nightmare fuel she is in the games, so much so that Harlan Wade becomes the true villain of the story in the third installment. So too did the cruelty of Flare, Blade, Bullet, and the kingdom in general turn Keyaru into the devil that brings about their ultimate ruin. It's pretty clear the man has PTSD, and I'm not talking the phony bastardized buzzword version that twittards throw out at the drop of a hat to justify their pathetic virtue signaling, but actual real trauma that leaves mental and emotional scars that fester and will never truly heal, no matter how much you desperately want them to fade. When you are that damaged, when your morality has been THAT thoroughly twisted and corrupted, yeah, you can justify some truly horrific acts in your mind, and committing them becomes frighteningly easy.
I honestly feel the haters shit hard on this show because many of them are the kind of people who will use their own victimhood, whether perceived or legitimate, to justify their own atrocities. We have a MC who started out a decent guy, but the things done to him have twisted him into an almost complete monster, and his trauma, his victimhood is his justification for his own evil acts. They hate Keyaru because he is their dark mirror image, and rather than internalize the lesson, they have chosen to deny it.

AND THERE IT IS!!! You speak for all of us who have suffered abuse. Rising of the shield hero. Redo of healer. I even think Goblin Slayer to a degree.
These series speak to those who had to be strong to overcome the darkness thrust upon them. Who dealt with abuse from every angle. It speaks to the parts of us that gravitate to becoming villains and anti-heroes. The parts of us that would become pure heroes if it meant we could vent this anger and pain without regret or shame. Catharsis for the damaged goods of this world. To those who had no control, taking that control away from abusers in a more literal sense is a power fantasy. Take from them what they took from you. Show the world the same pain that made you strong and watch as you and all those like you rise to the top.
He robbed flame of her identity because that’s what she did to him. And wiping her memories completely was because she literally hollowed him out to use him.
Setsuna is like him. Abused and in need of revenge and so as much as it is still a partnership where he holds the power, in his twisted head, he is using that power not to take from her but to give her everything that he himself craves.
It is the catharsis and the scars we can never heal that make shows like this for actual abuse victims and it makes those who plan abuse scared because it reminds them of the reality that they can only push people so far before they create a monster that wants nothing more than to take everything from them.
I almost became a monster of a person like that when I was younger. I’ve taken the power back by owning my own choices and mistakes. By taking ownership and control back over myself instead of taking it from others. I like to show other people that they have that strength in them too. That we are not helpless if we remember that no one can choose for us. They can’t take anything more from us and anything they try to take will never be that which matters most. Our free will. Our identity. Our true power.
So yes, I think the main character is evil, but that evil speaks the pain that still resonates deep in my heart. An evil I choose to turn from every day of my life but one I can understand nonetheless.

It’s not because I am inherently evil, I just happened to be born into an abusive relationship if I was in the protagonists situation and in the real world rape is a complicated beast that might have dated many generations ago that only now we know because of the internet and because of research but in the end humans don’t enjoy rape and our mind will go with what helped us survive than what we actually want

And this kind of questions about setting is what writers with a heart struggle with whenever we make characters.
I have repeatedly put my characters through actual hell. The worst it could be for them and put them in very damaged places. So is that the fault of the god of the setting? Maybe, but if it is, am I not the one who made their god that way? Am I not the true architect of their torment? But why do I do that to them? To tell a story? Is that fair?
But really why I do it is because I know my character isn’t the only one, that these negative things are not without purpose and because I know that by the time they reach the end of their tale the journey they will have gone on will have made them into someone or something they never otherwise could have become.

a COMPLETE side note but my guess is that “healing” is actually two things 1. Taking from someone memories so you can 2. Reverse time on them better/return them to a Past point in time(the second before they got hurt) but you don’t have to do 2 and can just take someone’s memories which is how he copies abilities

I kinda see it as similar to Orihime's healing from Bleach. It is not healing by controlling the organic materials of a body, but is more like reversing causality thus making the wound as never having happened, or changing it to what could have been with the memory wipes or learned skills.
Like Orihime, it also works within a very limited area, unless powered up by an artifact like the Philosopher's Stone.

I love how you acknowledged the people that either have a fetish for this stuff or feel that catharsis of having taken revenge on those that wronged them (even if it isn't related to the subject matter of the story). For too long, the internet has been able to get away with the idea of people being sick in the head for liking something the majority does not agree with (when it pertains to fictional works, of course). One final point, I love how you point out that despite doing all this horrible stuff, he isn't happy and after lossing his only family (which goddamn the manga version is really depressing) he is more unhappy then ever before.

So much alpha energy needed to upload this.
This video was the first of yours I watched, and I subscribed.
I heard about Redo of Healer from the reaction to it, and despite what some people think I like it.
There's something really interesting about Keyaruga, even though he can be extreme, he was made extreme by others who are worse, so in his own way he's a really good character and this show gets too much hate (I think some people honestly believe that anybody who watches what Keyaruga does will somehow turn into him, which is insane).
I haven't had the best life, and this kind of show speaks to me for some reason.
Oh, and I would describe Keyaruga's power as information manipulation.
When healing a wound, he experiences what it's original state was and what happened to that person.
When he first had the powers, he originally was overloaded with information and that was what caused him issues at first.
He can copy the skills of others he heals by copying the data of the skills when he heals them (and reads their data).
He can cause people to explode by corrupting their data.
He can transform things by modifying data.
But since he needs to touch to read data, he needs to be tactical at times.
    Amazing video dude.

Same, if anything we are watching classic storytelling of a revenge plot against the most fucked up people in their world with authority proudly being their worst selves, and everyone is paying the price. If anything in the revenge setting the MC is being their judge jury and executioner. No one else has the skills or power to actually make them held responsible. Sure as he is not the most sain person, (largely due to his attackers). But I will say if you know someone is guilty as all hell and now you or someone else is making them pay for it. Everyone usually cheers, when a monster of a person is sent to their death, or finally put behind bars, everyone usually is rejoicing. Why? Because people need to be held accountable for their reactions and in a world where the very top is beyond reproach by anyone other than themselves. Redo Healers' MC is the hands that hold them accountable for their actions. When war criminals, rapists, and serial killers are caught and dealt with, the ones who deal with them are considered by most people to be viewed as heroes. I will leave this statement with two phrases: "The only ones who should kill are those who are willing to be killed themselves." "You get what you give."

This reminds me about Quentin Tarantino and his mindset in making Django Unchained. There was an interview where he talked about a show he watched about a black man getting the chance to get back at his slaver with a whip and ends up deciding that he doesn't want to stoop to his level. Tarantino displayed his disappointment and decided to have the same situation play out in his film but allowing the black man to enact violence. I imagine something similar is happening with RoaH.

This episode was amazing! I, myself are one of the people who would fall under the dislike/hate (however you see it) side of Redo of Healer. (specifically the show, not the people who watch it. Don't at me) I mainly feel this way because Keyaruga is someone who gained power beyond anyone's imaginations, but used it in such an evil way that he only gains what he wants and not for the general populace. In D&D I played one character who I would consider Chaotic Neutral, that essentially hated the human race in its entirety and wanted them dead. Both my character and Keyaruga were sort of nice to the people who didn't immediately lash out at them. So I can't really fight against Keyaruga's decisions but still found it slightly disturbing. Also to those who hate on people for loving a certain show, just keep it to yourself.

A really good video, that does make me see this series and character in a new light. I personally couldn't get past the 2nd episode, but his breakdown of Keyaru's past of abuse and torment is unfortunately not all that dissimilar to my own. I think that the only thing that doesn't drive me on a revenge course is that I can't conjure a modicum of sadism in my entire body. I can't bring myself to hurt people, and if I find out that I inadvertenly did hurt someone, I feel like shit until I make it up to them. Great video Stuart. There are alot of reasons to watch this
    1) as you said, it's actually a tragedy. Of a boy who wasn't allowed to even be the hero, so he became the villain
    2) while the revenge scenes are cruel, their are creative. It's like watching a Saw Movie and waiting to see what bullshit jigsaw is gunna set up next
    3) even if you don't relate to his motives, you might be able to understand the karmatic abuse he is dealing. While an eye for an eye isn't a true answer, it's closure. For as far as we know. After his reign if terrir is over. He will change, he shows enough self awareness to be nice.
I think in the grand scheme, he just has a snashed moral compass, in a world that just doesn't care. Is he evil? Or a product of his environment?

Honestly, good on you for making this-
I'll be honest, my taste in most things is about as vanilla as can be, and I rarely indulge in tragedies, and other such darker themes. But I believe that there should be stories for everyone. And there's a lot of people who won't get the chance to read or watch, or experience stories that will resonate with them on certain levels, because those sorts of stories are so stigmatized, that most people don't want to touch them with a ten foot pen, and if they do get made, they often get absolutely destroyed by the vast majority of people. Because most people hate to be uncomfortable.
It's part of why horror as a genre, even though it's more mainstream than something like these specific stories, is still so stigmatized and is still sort of niche, part of the recipe calls for some bitter medicine.
I find it ironic how a lot of the times, the people I've met in my life that are some of the most positive people you'd ever meet, are the ones who LOVE things that many people hate or make fun of, or just can't stomach. They're the ones who like horror, tragedies, and even things like My Little Pony, because there's certain things on both ends of the spectrum from dark stories to light-hearted ones that get stigmatized, a lot of people will hate on something if it's too dark for them or too "simplistic" or colorful.
But sometimes that's where people find something special to them.
There's a reason, why some of the people who are most into things like horror, or metal music, are often actually very nice, caring, understanding, often introverted, and mature, it's because a lot of the times, they didn't always have someone who was or could be kind, caring, or understand them, so they instead had to learn to extend that to themselves and others like them.
We live in a world where for the vast majority of our history, things which weren't "widespread" and understood were branded as "evil" or "unnatural", like foreign people, mental illness, minorities, different sexualities, hell, there's even ancient prejudices against left-handed people, and so much more, and in a world which brands the things that they don't understand as evil, we spawned an entire history of fiction which had people of different sexualities, ethnicities, and those with mental illnesses, casted as the villains, the monsters, and that became the only thing that certain people could relate to on some levels, and it's a practice which, while slowly getting better, still carries on to this day. We, as people, live in a very nuanced and complicated world-
And we tend to oversimplify things way too much-
But I digress, I'm gonna stop before I lose the plot anymore-
TLDR: Great video, opens a lot up to many potentially interesting discussions, and it's unfortunate that a lot of people who are stigmatized already for being part of a certain group or having certain life experiences are often stigmatized even further based on stereotypes, and what media they may personally connect with-

BTW, what I’ve figured (this is not techniacllly canon, but it makes a whole lot of sense) out about his “Healing” it’s not healing per say, it’s cosmic attunement. He attunes to the cosmic presence of the target, and is able to change their current state to any other state, for example. Restoring the arm to what it would have been had it never been torn off. This explains all of the crazy things he does with his “healing” like that time rewind trick, he didn’t rewind time, he moved the state of the world to 4 years prior. It also explains the pain and the ability steal. Since he attunes to the targets cosmic signature, all that they have been is input directly in his mind, so that that he cause manipulate the signature properly, this is why he experiences all the pain they’ve ever experienced, and explains why he gets their skills, as he has lived their life in a brief moment. Any flaws or thoughts anyone?

I just want to say i respect you for sticking to your guns even though personally I'm not comfortable with the show. I'd say it was a good and thoughtful analysis based on your account of the show, and any piece of art/media that can start a meaningful discussion is valuable. From what you show/tell "Redo of Healer" seems a bit like a more extreme version of "Rising of the Shield Hero", and apart from the scale of both the abuse and revenge beeing much bigger in Redo, the main difference between Keyaruga and Naofumi seems to be that Naofumi has the thing Keyaruga want the most; friends that genuinely love and care about him for who he is, and they only do so because Naofumi showed them care in the first place. If you ever do a review/alignment for "Rising of the Shield Hero" I think there's a lot to gain by doing a thorough side-by-side analysis of the two.
Also, a fun little thought: If someone's not letting another person (that they are not the legal guardian of) watch this show they are essetially taking away one of that persons freedoms/rights, and the way I see it one of the broader deffinitions of "non-consentual" is to take away another persons freedoms and/or rights without legal basis. People have a right to have different opinions. People have a right to have different tastes and interrest. I'm not defending Redo of healer, I'm defending your right to like the show, and the fact that I feel I have to do this makes me more sick than the show does. Because at the end of the day it's just a fictional story and *noone* is hurt by it excisting, but still some people on the internett feel the need to harass others for having opinions.

I do very much like and appreciate your rant at the end. As a victim of physical abuse from my mom, sister and female classmates in school as well as sexual from a therapist I had I was very afraid of girls for a long time. Having panic attacks around them just by hearing them giggle, being unable to touch them like hugging or even sitting next to them. It took some very patient and good hearted female friends after I turned 19 to slowly help me get rid of this fear atleast to a degree that I can function fully in society. The only remnant really is my general state of mind being deterrioated and my heart beating faster in an uncomfortable way when I walk past a group of girls and they laugh, thinking its about me. So bearable definitely.
I never considered this a possible reason as to why this show got me so much, cause it went way beyond it just being hot, especially since I was certainly not yet able to feel such things when I first encountered it. In a way it has kind of helped me get in tune with my sexuality. Since I am still heterosexual apparently, but thought I was asexual for a long time, since I was not attracted to men and DEFINITELY not to women. So I really appreciate the insight!
While noone clicking on this, liking the show or not, ever doubted he would end up on evil, I do enjoy his character.
I am up to date on the manga and there are always scenes where he feels like he is happy surrounded by the other characters until he gets flashbacks that make him crumble to the floor with headaches and makes him go "NO I cannot be happy yet I need to finish my revenge", actively keeping himself from reverting back to the person he was before everything. Cause at the core deeeep down burried behind all the hate and trauma he is still the normal kid. And if he allowed himself the time to.... HEAL... (hehe) he could come closer to that again. Probably not reach it fully again since the damage is done, but there is healing for him to do that he rejects until he is done, cause he HAS to be evil to take his revenge.
He also softens up towards the girls with him the more it continues, sees them as comrades and friends instead of tools and focuses more on doing good things like saving people from the kingdom or demon lord. In a later fight where Keyarus mind is threatened to be consumed the monster tells him he is alone, which he rejects, screaming his comrades have given so much to help him in the entire endeavor that the fight was. The monster laughs at him and tells him that that is meaningless, since they are FAKE. And the LOOK on Keyarus face when he realizes that its the truth, he was deluding himself the entire time and that he has nothing and does not have a counter argument to that is.... strangely haunting.
The show could've easily just went for "its fantasy, also op mc and hot women are hot" but it still decided to go for depth. I appreciate it a lot.

So, before I watch this, I'm gonna get my own thoughts out there. I binged it last week just to see what we're getting into. I honestly feel confident in saying Chaotic Evil. However, I did actually like the series, because it didn't hold back with just how much of a bastard this character is. This story makes me think of True Crime shows and documentaries, it's got everything, the absolutely horrifying events that turned one person into a monster, that person then going on his own spree to do things just as horrible if not arguably worse while justifying it as revenge and what is truly right. This character is a villain, not a hero, not an antihero, not an antivillain. Now admittedly some scenes were hard to watch, do to just because that despicable, but it didn't shy away and fade to black to just "imply" what happens, and in some ways I kinda admire that, it takes balls to do that. I don't think I could pin the Healer as anything other than Chaotic Evil, even if he lives under the facade as "I'm removing these disgusting, evil people from this world, so I'm justified."

in the end he really is nothing but a neutral husk he was robbed of any agency most of the dings really cant even be attributed to him good or bad, doing good make him feel nothing doing evil doesn't either revenge is all that gives him something and he loves it the same for allowing others to get their revenge in way Keyargu is the blind arm of true justice uncaring of anything except enacting justice on those that wrong others.

Here's the thing, with Redo of Healer, it is abundantly clear to me that you like the show for the Complexity, the Psychology of the Character's, and not because of the Abundance of "fan-service", which should be taken to consideration. You also do not approve of the method Keyaruga takes to vengeance, you only enjoy seeing the motivation and emotions and thoughts behind it, no more, no less. Your interest is within the characters on a Psychological level, whereas most people will assume that by watching this anime, you are a enjoyer of the... Non-Consentual "Partying" that goes down, or the twisted and perverted fantasies the show represents, which is simply not the case with several people. All in all, I am looking at this video at face value: A deconstruction on what you see in the character of Keyaruga and those who his Perverted Payback affects, which in the end, is you discussing how you think that Keyaruga is a fundamentally broken and traumatized man who lashes out in a unhealthy manner because he doesn't know how else to deal with it, nor does he have anyone who would truly and willingly help him through that. For that, this video has my applause, for being thought provoking and genuine.

Not gonna lie. You have a brass pair to make this video. I initially found your sao abridged Kirito video, and gave this video a chance solely because of the first one. To be frank, I couldn't stomach ROH. And your video cemented that decision as the correct one, but I'm still glad I watched this all the way through.

@@TheLoadingCrew well here's to more tastefully controversial videos. Because you're 100% right that controversial source material makes the best discussions, and to a comment section that doesn't burn with the flames of toxic anime fans

So Keyaru or Keyaruga is pretty much the Quote 'Monster's aren't Born, They are created'
