  • Lemon water is a refreshing and healthy drink that has numerous benefits for the body. In this video, we will discuss why drinking lemon water is good for you, its benefits, and how to make it correctly.
    Lemon water is packed with vitamin C, fiber, and other essential nutrients that can improve your overall health. But did you know that the lemon peel is also extremely nutritious and should not be discarded? In fact, the zest from just one lemon contains more nutrients than the juice from ten lemons. Lemon peel is full of bioactive compounds that may provide numerous health benefits and has the potential to positively impact weight loss and cholesterol reduction. It also boasts small amounts of calcium, potassium, and magnesium and has the ability to stimulate your body’s immune system.
    To make lemon water correctly, simply add fresh lemon juice or lemon zest to a glass of warm or cold water. Be sure to use organic lemons and thoroughly wash them before using, and avoid adding sugar to the drink as it negates its weight loss benefits. Instead, opt for a sugar-free alternative or add honey for added health advantages. For optimal health benefits, allow the water to cool before adding honey and avoid reheating the lemon-honey mixture as it can reduce its nutritional value.
    In this video, we will show you step-by-step how to make the perfect glass of lemon water and the importance of including the lemon peel in your drink. Start incorporating lemon water into your daily routine and see the difference it can make in your health.

    I had put on weight as a result of giving up smoking last year. I have been drinking the juice of freshly a squeezed lemon with warm water and pure organic, unfiltered honey, first thing each morning, for a little over a week, and already feel the benefits. The results are gradual but significant. Appetite is under control, reduced bloating, weight loss, increased energy level and improved sleep. I have also replaced snacks with fresh fruit but don't strictly adhere to that! Try it everyone.

I eat the peels as well. The zest is too full of nutrients to waste and frequently is discarded because westerners are picky and do funny stuff like that to the detriment of their own health. Does lemon water prevent kidney stones?

    • @naturaliferemedies
      @naturaliferemedies  Рік тому

      There are some noteworthy studies that have investigated the relationship between lemon water or lemon-based products and kidney stone prevention. One of the key factors contributing to this preventive effect is the presence of citrate in lemons.
      A study by Odvina (2006) examined the effect of lemonade therapy on patients with hypocitraturia (low urinary citrate levels) and a history of kidney stones. The study found that lemonade therapy increased urinary citrate levels, thereby decreasing the risk of kidney stone formation. The full citation for this study is:
      Odvina, C. V. (2006). Comparative value of orange juice versus lemonade in reducing stone-forming risk. Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, 1(6), 1269-1274. doi.org/10.2215/CJN.00830306
      Another study by Penniston et al. (2007) explored the effects of a lemonade-based dietary intervention on patients with hypocitraturic nephrolithiasis (low urinary citrate levels and kidney stones). The results indicated that participants experienced an increase in urinary citrate levels and a decrease in the number of stone formation events. The full citation for this study is:
      Penniston, K. L., Nakada, S. Y., Holmes, R. P., & Assimos, D. G. (2007). Quantitative assessment of citric acid in lemon juice, lime juice, and commercially-available fruit juice products. Journal of Endourology, 21(3), 347-350. doi.org/10.1089/end.2006.9994
      These studies suggest that consuming lemon water or lemon-based products can help prevent kidney stone formation by increasing urinary citrate levels. However, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional before making significant changes to your diet or routine to address kidney stone prevention.
