This video gave me tears of JOY!!! Thank you all for how you are helping all of us!
The only thing I would say is use a plastic cap for the jug that you store it in, this will prevent any corrosion problems.
Ive been seeing several places that u need to add black pepper corns to activate the tummeric. I do like the suggestions of saving the solids & drying them. Grinding to a power to add to food, makes my mouth watter.
Looks GREAT
Nice thank you for sharing
From what I understand, the hotter the peppers the healthier the end product is. I'd also recommend pureeing the mixture either before or after the process is done and dehydrate it. You can put them in gel capsules.
michael gabrielle I’ve heard folks go another step and grind the dried version to use as a seasoning, though I have not tried it, does sound good.
What is the shelf life of this? How long does it stay good for and how should I store it?
Did you ever get an answer?
Hi there :) Just saw your reply come up! The fire cider will keep at least 6 months and probably up to a year if kept from temperature fluctuations and out of direct sunlight. It will keep towards the longer side longer if you are diligent about removing all vegetable matter when straining!
I've been unable to find horseradish. Can prepared horseradish be used instead?
Hi Michelle! You can definitely try using dried horseradish in your fire cider. You just might need to play around with ratios to get the flavor you want! I'm thinking dried horseradish will be less potent than fresh. Let us know how it goes for you! - Gracie
Does this mean we won the lawsuit over the name? I sure hope so ~ love this video great share :)

Thanks for this! I made some using a jar bigger than I needed, the cider more than covers the food but should I have filled it all the way to the top? or is it ok that the jar isn't totally filled?
As long as it covers the ingredients then you'll be fine. Just make sure to really squeeze all the goodness out when you're ready to strain it. You'll want as much as possible!
Is a purple onion better? And without the pepper? Just the cayane
Hi there! One of the many reasons fire cider is so wonderful is that it is highly customizable. In fact, we have an entire book of different recipes! mountainroseherbs.com/fire-cider. We always encourage our customers to experiment and adapt recipes to suit their own personal tastes, omitting or substituting certain ingredients most certainly falls into the experimentation category and we love to see it. Let us know how your cider turns out! 😄
I didn't get mine strained until it had been sitting 3 months. Is that okay or should I throw it away and start over?
Hi there! It's hard to say without seeing it in person. I'd suggest opening it and giving it a good look and smell to make sure there is no mold or other bacteria growing. Because of the contents, I would think it should still be good as long as you have no growth of anything in there! Trust your eyes and nose :) If you're unsure, I'd suggest composting and starting over. I hope that helps!
I add Tumeric root and ginger root
Thanks for reminding me I can get Tumeric root.
Is this a 32 oz jar, and how much liquid does it yield?
16 ounces = 1 pint.
What uses does it have
Salad Dressing. I’m sure their are others. Also, take it like a tonic.
Put it in tea.
How to store. In fridge or not ?
Hi there! I always tend to store my fire cider in the fridge so it lasts as long as possible! You can also store your fire cider in a cool, dark place. I hope that helps! - Gracie
@@mountainroseherbs Thank you.
I don’t like horseradish, can I omit it, or use something else to replace the horseradish?
Hi there! The fun thing about fire cider is that you can play with the recipe until you find something that suits your needs :) Here is some great advice in regards to horseradish from our friends at Herbal Academy: "There are so many recipes for fire cider out there and they certainly don’t need to have horseradish. Some horseradish-like options include wasabi or mustard seeds or nasturtium pods (just use a smaller amount than horseradish)." You could try adding in other warming spicy vegetables, try their suggestion of mustard, or even create your own addition to fire cider! I hope that helps 🥰 - Gracie
@@mountainroseherbs Thank you!
Just needs thyme and oregano for respiratory health.
My gut and constitution could not handle even a few of those ingredients. While I love Rosemary, I do not know why everyone loves fire cider. Is it some kind of rite of passage? You might as well ask me to walk on coals as to drink that.
Haha fire cider definitely has a strong flavor! It took me a while to like it on it's own. I'd suggest trying it as a spicy salad dressing if you are unsure about drinking it alone based on flavor. There are also many different ways to make fire cider, maybe you just haven't found the right recipe yet! Here's a fun recipe we made a while back for a Tom Kha inspired fire cider: blog.mountainroseherbs.com/tom-kha-fire-cider. I've also seen really delicious elderberry fire cider recipes floating around so far this fall :) Hope that helps!
