Snake, I've found the weakness of Screaming Mantis. You see those 2 Marionette Dolls she has close to? They've been modeled after The Sorrow, and Psycho Mantis they can manipulate anyone who has nanomachines in them. If you can shoot the doll and get it you'll be able to use Mantis's power against her.
What also worked back in MGS1 was spray and pray. You fill the room with so much lead that it is impossible to dodge all of it. Not sure if that works without the bandana though.

I legit did this the first time I took on screaming mantis and the game immediately pulled this codec on me cause they knew, they knew what I was gonna do.

Even though it was battle damaged and the Rail Gun that was going to be used to launch the Nukes, REX still had some fight in him.
I remember when i got to this fight, i automatically tried to do the psycho mantis strat and changed my player number to 2. And got the scene of otacon telling snake that it won't work. Always thought that was clever. Mgs4 had alot of clever easter eggs.
I never played the game, but, when I saw this cut scene, I thought when instead of change the controller number, what if I change the controller's input lay out?
