I saw the scene with captions once when my brother played it. He said "eyes" but the acting slurred it a little bit so it sounds like he said "eye". But I thought the same thing at first. Or maybe I'm misremembering and you were right all along.
On this it does seem as though he is saying it as my comment is written, but I have never played MGS 4 so I have no idea. Either way Psycho Mantis makes it legendary.

Seriously though, that was an epic moment seeing both Psycho Mantis and The Sorrow - renowned Metal Gear legends - reappear with their signature traits that made them so memorable. In retrospect, we probably should've seen it coming considering the use of both a Mantis puppet and a Sorrow puppet. I like to think that it's also cool symbolism; Both Psycho Mantis and The Sorrow were like actual puppets which lead to their respective deaths. For The Sorrow, it was the fact that either he or the Boss had to die to keep their son alive and The Sorrow chose himself to die, and for Mantis, it was his succumbing to his nihilistic views stemming from his childhood and following Liquid just like he'd been since the events of MGSV when they were kids.
Had to press the L1 or R1 button to see The Sorrow's Spirit above the railing, he probably pulled Psycho Mantis back. It's a hidden input. The person here forgot to do it.

For some reason I feel very pity for Psycho Mantis in this cutscene, especially the part when he seems cheered by his only one remaining ability to move controllers.
When The Sorrow himself made a return to help you, I got such chills that I shivered. For some reason, hearing and seeing him, I was washed over with this feeling of un-explainable happiness and sadness at the same time, and I felt like I wanted to cry. It was an unusually powerful moment.
It was a pure Psychotic minute of nostalgia and Sorrow. I was so hyped seeing both of them return, Mantis for his comedic 4th wall-breaking and The Sorrow for his mysterious yet charismatic aura.

Yes it vibrates but the differences are that the corded PS1 controller allowed it to be directly influenced by in game player controlled actions where as PS3 vibrations are different with its Rumblepack by used primarily through game scripted codes.

I temember playing MGS4 even though i enjoyed returning to Shadow Moses i got goose bumps when i encountered the return of Phycho Mantis. He was my fsvorite villian in MGS1.

....Actually the "TRAITOR!" line is supposed to be directed at The Sorrow. He is the one who throws Mantis back into the after life the quote is his at the end "the spirit of the warrior" statement is made by him in fact you can even see the X prompt that would show flashbacks of The Sorrow also this scene is another scene where you can view from Snakes eyes and see The Sorrow
