I've been saying this for years. The original AC came out during that awkward period where every game was going for that ugly, washed out, "realistic" look. Its controls we're clunky as hell, and both, Altaire and Desmond moved like they were drowning in molasses. While sequels restricted your abilities to some extent, you still had almost unlimited freedom with how you explored and where you went. If any game would benefit from a full remake, it'd be this one. I'm not sure why every other game has been re-released and upscaled for modern systems when this is the one game that needs, and deserves it the most. It would be amazing to run around Jerusalem with a more modern engine, just sayin'.

I totally disagree with your opinion of Altaïr's personality. I thought his early game depiction was one of the best ever shown of a dude who's an arrogant jerk. His descent into questioning himself, coming to see his enemies as human beings, and his transformation into a serious yet humble professional is one of my favorite heroes journeys in the franchise.
HyperCynic look it's a """cynic""" who claims he knows a lot about good writing 🤔. No one claims that Altair is a masterclass in writing, however his transformation from the start of the game to the end is subtle and interesting enough to merit acclaim.
Also, even if Altair's arc in AC1 is a bit weak, he's really redeemed in AC: Revelations. Seeing how the mistakes of his youth resulted in a life of regret was pretty powerful.
the reason altair as a character works is because he thought himself above everyone else and it was either his way or the highway, A real asshole who actually matures to the point where when he apologised to malik, malik said the main who he wanted an apology from and the man who altair had become were two different people. how anyone prefers ezio is beyond me, he never had that moment, he was just guided by assassins in disguise until he became one. It always felt like ezio always had help where as altair had to figure it out on his own. The closest thing to this is Jacob in syndicate where he also gives no regard for the creed and does things his way. What makes these both compelling is both characters think that what they are doing is right and necessary. Edward also had many people guiding him throughout his journey which isn't a bad thing by any means, just when a character realises themselves what they have done is wrong it has a bigger impact then when a character is told what they have done is wrong.

@Cyberdemon Mike I would LOVE the Assassin's Creed series to be more like stealth games such as Hitman and Dishonored. It would suit the theme of being an assassin so well, and it goes greatly together with the parkouring aspect which I consider to be the staple gameplay element of the series
Let me first say that I will never forget the awe, excitement and curiosity that I felt when, in 2007, from my horse I stared down for the first time on the city of Damascus from that hill; I think we could all somehow "feel" that it was the beginning of a new era in gaming. I disagree with your characterization of Altair. He wasn't a blank slate at all, he was just of few words and you had to listen carefully to his interactions to catch his personality. In reality he had quite a coherent and interesting character arc, going from a testosteroney, arrogant, overconfident ass at the beginning of the game to a wise, soft-spoken leader at the end. His every encounter with Al Mualim, the Assassin chiefs in the cities, the targets and even the build-up quests characters show his evolution. In my opinion, Altair is probably the best fleshed-out character of the whole series, if you take into account the Codex pages in AC2 and the memories in Revelations. The game on the overall did was mostly a tech demo to showcase what Ubisoft was capable of and to kickstart a new franchise, so it's fair that one wouldn't want to replay it, except to relive the atmosphere of the Holy Land.
That montage at the beginning of the video of all the different climbing blending into each other was stellar and is just one example of how the amazing quality of these videos keeps improving. Serious props to the whole team for this one.
Ranger Walker black flag was the one that made me give up on the franchise wasn’t a fan on the constant naval battles but I have picked up Assassin creed again thanks to origins and odyssey
Really liked AC Black Flag, to a point. The pirate stuff was amazing. Then the Assassin storyline reared it’s head and I lost interest. Mainly because the pirates I enjoyed were no longer around.
This channel is the best gaming channel to exist. No one can change my mind on this. The intro is amazing with a feel of a proper gamer, the review always feels in-depth and the concept of the channel is quite unique. BEST GAMING CHANNEL EVER.
Honestly I've never understood the hate directed at the "current day" portions up until AC 4. They provide some calm between the action, having a game that is nonstop action all the time is just exhausting. But most importantly I love how the conflict between the tempelars and assassins is an ongoing struggle throughout history still going on today and the modern day is an interesting side story in addition to the historic one. In AC 4 it got weird with the game development stuff and I haven't played any of the later ones so I can't say how it's done there. I've heard its removed completely, is that true?
And this is why I haven't touched the series since 3, despite its absurdity I was very invested in Desmond's storyline with all his development from the first game through revelations from not knowing what's going on to gradually understanding the burden his ancestors bore and passed down the way it gets cut off abruptly was just a complete turn off for me. I do miss the amazing visuals and gameplay of the series but I can no longer find the interest to go back to the franchise
No nostalgia for Altair? Anyone who loves these games would disagree with you lmao Altair is one of the most badass characters Ubisoft has ever created
He meant cuz the game wouldnt still be categorized as an old game its not nostalgic but that depends on the person. For me its not nostalgic cuz its not a game I left in the dust. I still play it some times cuz for me with ACII is the best AC.
You think waiting for Kingdom Hearts 3 is bad? Imagine all the poor Assassins Creed fans who are still waiting for AC5 to come out. How many spinoffs are Ubisoft going to put out before we can get to the next mainline installment? Smh Reggie
I remember buying this game, it was the first M rated game I ever owned, beat it in less than a week and went out shortly after and bought the entirety of the series that's on the 360, the difference between the first and second games was awe inspiring and it's always stuck with me, good series but I'm stuck till I can get the system to proceed with unity, syndicate, etc
Honestly this game had my favorite combat at least up to Revelations, and more than Ac 3/4/R and Unity/ syndicate (havent played the most recent two). It was skilled and nuanced if you were good at it. It can feel like nothing but defending and countering. But if you're good it can be pretty fluid. Using timed strikes to get faster and more impressive kills, dodging to take advantage of a heavy attack from an enemy, throwing enemies into each other to make openings or into scaffolding to kill whole groups. And of course, a well timed counter to kill foolish attackers. I just wish the free running/climbing were more fluid (although honestly Revelations had my favorite climbing) and the crouching and cover mechanic could be pretty awesome. And the crowd cover mechanic would be good. But this game is still fun and I still enjoy playing it
I felt like this is probably the least interesting to play, but had one of the best stories in the series in my opinion. Despite its many flaws I still really appreciate this game.
I remember seeing my daughter playing this and I had not played it. SO I got the first game and boom straight down the rabbit hole and now in the process of finishing Odyssey. Assassins Creed never get old. Thanks for the review, PC version was good :)
I recently re-played through the first four games again and it's just... so sad how badly this game has aged for what it's place in history is. I know it's probably not gonna ever happen, but I would really love for them to come back to this particular game and just. Redo it all. Altair is super interesting when we see him in Revelations and in the novels as well. The setting would look so stunning with modern graphics standards (it feels a liiiittle washed out looking at it now), and just seeing how they could overhaul the gameplay and quests with what they've learned... It could be so much better. They'd probably have to retcon stuff though and again, realistically they'd probably never do it :'/ I would be so jazzed if they ever did though.
I've tried to play this game so many times, but every time my friends rave about it and I'm like: after the first 2 hours or so you've pretty much done everything the game has to offer and you're just doing that on loop for 40 more hours.
Personally I feel like the second one is a total remake of the first one. Mainly because I felt that it retold everything from a different character, plus they redid alot of the mechanics that were a huge problem in the first one.
I remember number 1 more. Mostly because i killed the second last boss and it froze mid auto save. Forcing me to completely restart what was a completionist playthrough of it
AC1 was the first thing I saw Kristen Bell in. It really weirded me out when I saw her in a movie years later and finally remembered her being in AC1 after like half an hour. There was just something eerie about seeing the same face just not 3D modeled anymore. I doubt it would bother me as much now, though, since scanning voice actors' faces is a bit more commonplace.
It's kind of a shame that while the gameplay keeps getting better with every new AC game, the story, the theme and the identity of the franchise keeps beeing peeled away ever more. Yeah the newer games play better, but apart from the name there really is nothing Assassins Creed about them anymore. You could slap a different name on it and nobody would even know it's from the series.
Kind of wish they did and just forgo any mention of "historical accuracy/authenticity". The recent game was absolutely horrendous with how little it paid attention to the most basic facets of the Peloponnesian war - all to push a socio political agenda that is clear as day.
Zachary Erickson the way I saw it, origins was the beginning of the Assassins, Odyssey was the beginning of the Templars(with Deimos and the Kult, and if you play the DLC, the Order of Ancients even makes an appearance)
Ac 1 is probably one of the most important games for me. Still, the newer games offer more life quality, so I get really conflicted about it :) amazing video, and great job getting all the damn flags 🤔
I feel similar, I adore this series, it's very important to me,and I am so grateful to what the first one did but after the gameplay of the second one, I couldn't go back
So far your the only internet critic (I count video game reviewers as critics) that will actually go back to what they talked about in the early episodes to see if your opinions have changed. I think that’s awesome! Keep doing what your doing you magnificent bearded man lol
When I originally played this game, the appeal was how cutting edge it all was. Now, its appeal is how rough around the edges it is; that plays perfectly into the time period, the setting, and the story. It definitely still holds up if you look at the struggle in the gameplay as an immersive part of the experience.
Y’know what I miss? Their Assassin’s Creed 2 review. Especially the Creed spoofs. I still remember he lyrics. 🎶so ima run fast, make my escape, game on let’s stab there, I don’t take the stairs. Climbing takes me higher, in a chase where guards will flee, climbing takes me higher, in a race through bloody streets🎶
I must have been real lucky when I played the game. I never had any issues with the flags or templars that I know of. It was the first game I ever completed, and I loved it! It made me want to start completing other games, even though I'm not good at it. lol
I still love the simplicity of the original AC. It is just that AC II was good that everyone forgets the first one. I wish that we could a full game starring Altair as a master assassin with the updated game mechanics of its predecessors.
Not surprised to hear this rating. I absolutely hated the first Assassin's Creed when I first played it because I felt like I couldn't do anything after losing all my powers, Metroid style. Also the reason for it was duuuuuumb. Losing my equipment fine, I'm not allowed to use that stuff anymore because the boss said so, I can accept that. Forgetting how to do certain moves though? That's just ridiculous. Anyway a few years later I came back to it and actually LOVED the game! I ate it up and blasted through it in a few days and then immediately charged into Assassin's Creed 2. About 30 minutes into the second game I was thinking "Man, now that I have this better version AC1 seems pretty bad huh?" I respect the first game for starting the series and it's unfair to judge it against the games that built on what it began, but I can't help but feel like it's pointless now with how good the sequel was.
I completely agree with your rating. I played it on Steam for the first time a long time ago and I didn't even do a completionist run (call it a semi-completionist run) and the game really frustrated me with stuff that would happen or bugs that would appear. Also, it really irked me when the story had not even a smidge of a resolution, the story being the only reason I had to finish the game.
So a couple years ago, I did a binge playthrough of all the Desmond Miles games, having only played Assassin's Creed 2 and 4. This game was my least favorite of the bunch. While I did not complete the games by any means, I did get a lot of respect for what you do.
Lucky bugger. Mine froze all the time. And by all the time that included mid autosave 4 times. With the latest one being after the second last boss. Thought long and hard whether i wanted to complete games after that
I guess it's all on luck. I managed to complete this game three or four years ago I think the only difficulty I had was one templar but other than that no problems. I honestly didn't realize this game actually glitched or bugged out on other gamers.
I know I'm a year late but I'm currently playing through the series and starting at the first game. I really enjoyed this video, well not the frustrations but the tips to look out for with glitches... I'm now worried Ive witnessed flag and templar glitches without knowing... Keep up the good work completionist crew!!
i have the 360 version of the game. and i've 100%-ed it 3 or 4 times. and i felt like it got better with every play through. i can understand how it can get repetitive, but i felt like it didn't bother me as much if i took my time with it. the information you get from the investigations feel rewarding if you use them to defeat your enemy and exploring the city is a lot of fun. i started a new play through just before christmas and i turned off all hud elements, and i had more fun than in any other play through. it felt more immersive and it got me asking more questions about my surroundings.
Not surprising the atmosphere and setting is one of the things he really likes. May or may not be related but Jirard is Arabic by blood if I recall. Its just like how I love Nordic and Czech lore. You can't help it
Honestly that would kinda suck. The only real things that should change about it are the updated smoothness of free running, and crouching, maybe the walking/running assassinations they introduced in 3. Its combat is still among my favorite in the whole series because it rewards skilled gameplay and tactical thinking as opposed to the kill combos of ac3/4 or the parry heavy Unity combat. And I kinda like how air assassinations are still possible but you have to do that yourself, not just stand above them and press X
@@princeblackelf4265 I like the combat of those games, but honestly I like the combat from AC1 better. If you're good at it you can be pretty fluid. Timing your attacks to get kills faster, dodging instead of using the counter all the time, throwing enemies into each other, the guard break, and watching the guards body language to see when they're open to heavier attacks is pretty fun. I liked the kill chains of Brotherhood/revelations but AC1 felt more challenging and more rewarding of skill
Unless they got an early version I doubt you'll see it soon. And knowing about their situations from past videos the chances of them getting early access is low.
Any ace combat game would be great. It’s not a series that’s covered often on mainstream gaming UA-cam. I think it would be awesome to do 4:Shattered Skies or 5: Unsung war
I wish they would remaster all the games and remove the modern day crap I know theirs the Ezio collection but I want all the games 1-4 with better graphics all the dlc and no modern day or at least skippable
I never understood why people hated the flags in this game, they usually involved lots of climbing, jumping, sometimes a small puzzle to work out how to get to them. What I didn't like was having no way of knowing where they could be without checking every single alleyway and every single rooftop of every building in every town and city, miss 1 flag and it's goodbye achievement. Map markers are something which has been added in later games, but they went overboard in recent titles, some exploration is good Ubisoft! Regardless they were never "mindless" collectables like I see in many other games where you just check every corner, which involves no gameplay just busywork.
Honestly the concept of assassins are cool and it was, until it was squeezed into a profit goldmine but origins and odyssey are probably the 2 best AC games. Odyssey is better, change my mind.
I agree origins and odyssey brought me back in the franchise but I think the Ezio trilogy still tops these two games better story but the new ones have better mechanics
Odyssey ditched the storyline they've been building up since 3 to resolve it in a sidestory comic, and gave it multiple endings ruining the cohesive narrative of the series as a whole, problem with that is it's a series thats main appeal was it's storyline not its gameplay
Great job as always Jirard! Every episode the show gets better! Honestly I can't understand a game developer deciding to not allow a player to skip dialogue or cutscenes. It just doesn't make sense.
As a fan of the series I agree that it's getting kinda washed out and should start finding and end point but also like the direction origins put the series intro with Odyssey. It was nominated for goty and that's surprising.
@@zombibyte Fortnite won over GoW and Red Dead 2 and is in the same category as Fallout NV and The Witcher 3. A nomination for GOTY is all but a joke these days.
Put this next to every other game that hasn't aged well, but is still fondly remembered for changing the gaming industry to this day. (weather that's a good or bad thing is still up for debate)
I hated completing this game but playing it casually is still a fun experience for me since it feels a lot less repetitive and you can actually progress through the story quickly
DJ Dragon Nah Unity is by far the worst one. Even without the horrible glitches (which idk if it’s been fixed yet) it’s still a terrible story with pretty average gameplay
It's weak, even after the second one came out it was already so clunky that it was impossible to go back to, AC2 fixed so much so quickly. The best thing it did was properly feel like an assassin taking out targets as opposed to Ezio being a more Monte Cristo revenge tale AC1 desperately needs a remake with the fixes later installments did to the gameplay
It probably is. It's quite repetitve but you have to give it credit for kicking off such an amazing franchise. Plus as was said in the beginning, it inspired a lot of games like Tomb Raider reboot and Horizon Zero Dawn. I still prefer it to AC3 though. Really dislike that one
I remember getting the dagger in this game (or what I call the quick knife) and it was so quick and brutal. I loved this game to pieces and, while I haven't played all the games or even the entirety of Ezio, I wish they brought back Altair for his own game, even though he was basically a hood with a knife I wish they added to his character a bit more.
this game is like the original metroid, it was ambitious, had many ideas, set the template for future titles and was a pretty good game in its time but then the sequel came and did everything better
I remember being 10 years old going into gamestop my grandma had took me every single time and i remeber seeing the hidden blade of altiars wrist and the white hooded robe on the front of the game case i immediately knew i wanted this game so i brought it up to the counter and told the employee that i wanted this game with a cute lil smile on my face he looked at me then looked at the game he then said "u have chosen wise " at the time i jus rlly wanted to get home and play that shit so i didint think much of it he then began to ring it up and since my grandma was a fan of games herself she was browsing the store while i was paying the store manager said i lobe assassin creed games and giveing the fact he said GAMES with a S i was curious so i asked him wait there are more still with the same smile i gave before he then stopped bagging the game up and said yes and there something u want to experience on your own so he bagged the game up and we headed home when i got home i had noticed the bag still had a game case outline inside of it laying on the floor and i paused ac 1 and picked it up and to my surprise there it was ac 2 with a note on the inside of the game case and it read " everything is true nothing is forbidden" hints to the reference of the game i was young and didint kno what it ment i jus thought he must have accidentally put ac 2 in the bag a few weeks later i had beat ac 1 and was moveing on to the second game an in the game as u may know it says the same refrance "everything is true nothing is forbidden" and then it clicked ....... The employee had put the ac 2 in there on pourpse and ever since that day i will always love ac games no MATTER wut Formula they change long live ac games💪💜
To be fair, I haven’t gone back and replayed this since it came out, but AC1 is my favorite of the franchise. The story(especially that ending) was interesting, I loved Altair, and nothing will come close to those first few leaps of faith where I got horrible vertigo and my fear of heights got triggered.
I still enjoy the first AC. The only issues I had that later games as early as II corrected was having that bit of dead zone in-between the cities you always had to go through, and the really slow climbing. I don't don't even really have a problem with the combat compared to later ones. Later ones make it more streamlined, sure, but it's still not bad. A simple remaster that integrates the faster climbing, eliminates that dead zone, and, optionally, modernize the combat and such is all it really needs.
So glad to see you finally getting to the AC games. I really don't see why the series gets as much hate as it does because it's actually entertaining and thought provoking. Just because one is released every year does not mean it's a bad series. While the first game isn't anything stellar gameplay wise and the characters are somewhat lacking, the story itself sets up the series as a whole with a fantastic plot (IMO anyway.) Looking forward to seeing the rest in the future as they get so much better from here, Unity notwithstanding, but that's neither here nor there.
I remember doing everything in this game and running into the same problems with flags on PC but I vaguely remember some way I could fix it... Anyway I remember loving the main story enough to make me want to learn everything about the poor sorry sods I was killing but hating doing anything else because of its very rigid formula, climb the building, synchronise, trail, sneak, murder, templar, flag main assassination... I don't regret playing it and finishing it but it's one of those games you don't ever feel compelled to play again... Also first time round I appreciated Desmond and learning about Abstergo, so thank god I didn't hate those segments too

Really liked AC Black Flag, to a point. The pirate stuff was amazing. Then the Assassin storyline reared it’s head and I lost interest. Mainly because the pirates I enjoyed were no longer around.
@@Odinsday How about Brotherhood?
@@roganzar I love everything about Black Flag even the assassin aspects
Look at my man and his PBG shirt looking good Assassin Man
Is he about to become a new Robot Master, now? ...he'd be very interesting.
The Desmond segments are some of the most interesting parts of the games and once they were gone I never bought another.
I love Assassin’s Creed but it honestly just feels like its slowly ignoring the whole Assassin V Templar and Apple of Eden Story...
He's my absolute favorite assassin for how badass he is
He meant cuz the game wouldnt still be categorized as an old game its not nostalgic but that depends on the person.
Smh Reggie
not only that, but imagine all the Yakuza fans waiting for Jirard to complete Yakuza 0.
They just ditched numbering the games after Black Flag. The new games like Syndicate, Origins and Odyssey are mainline entries.
@@samuelchurch5124 r/whoosh
They completed the Desmond story, really lacklustre attempt to conclude it
Mainline Assassin's Creed don't exist anymore
I thought that the game would get the "Play it" rating, but I was wrong
I love all the present time Abstergo stuff MonkaS
But this game is still fun and I still enjoy playing it
I just replayed this game for the first time since back in 2010. I enjoyed the main plot but hated everything it took for me to get there
I felt like this is probably the least interesting to play, but had one of the best stories in the series in my opinion.
People remember Assassin's Creed 2 more than Assassin's Creed 1
From the people that I know probably because AC2 was the first one they ever played.
Personally I feel like the second one is a total remake of the first one. Mainly because I felt that it retold everything from a different character, plus they redid alot of the mechanics that were a huge problem in the first one.
superdog619 Ezio is Altair with a personality. lol
@@M0zzarella_ no, for good reason.
I remember number 1 more. Mostly because i killed the second last boss and it froze mid auto save. Forcing me to completely restart what was a completionist playthrough of it
I loved the Desmond/modern day sections of the AC games until the end of 3. It had a really interesting/unsettling feel to it.
And there's no mention of the chair breaking on him, revealing it was a templar all along.
EskChan19
I was really disappointed with the portrayal of Julius Caesar.
I really didn't like the direction the series started going post Black Flag.
Is it weird I like AC3 and Rogue?
Zachary Erickson the way I saw it, origins was the beginning of the Assassins, Odyssey was the beginning of the Templars(with Deimos and the Kult, and if you play the DLC, the Order of Ancients even makes an appearance)
Love to jirard and the whole team for this awesome channel ❤️😊
YE!
Thanks for reviewing this game again despite all the troubles you had to go through to complete it.
Ac 1 is probably one of the most important games for me. Still, the newer games offer more life quality, so I get really conflicted about it :) amazing video, and great job getting all the damn flags 🤔
Well Unity was garbage
I feel similar, I adore this series, it's very important to me,and I am so grateful to what the first one did but after the gameplay of the second one, I couldn't go back
Prince Black Elf I always go back AC 2 when I can’t decide what to play it’s such a good game and Ezio is such a great character
@@darkknight8029 I agree and AC2 has a lot of replayability alright
The atmosphere was peak and that time in history is barely covered in western media/history.
So far your the only internet critic (I count video game reviewers as critics) that will actually go back to what they talked about in the early episodes to see if your opinions have changed. I think that’s awesome! Keep doing what your doing you magnificent bearded man lol
I love assassins creed thanks for doing a video
I am not dead but i usually am for about 10 hours a day
When I originally played this game, the appeal was how cutting edge it all was. Now, its appeal is how rough around the edges it is; that plays perfectly into the time period, the setting, and the story. It definitely still holds up if you look at the struggle in the gameplay as an immersive part of the experience.
Assassin's Creed is a good franchise
Was.Odyssey is for bitches.
oh god no it's not the middle games are garbage
Lol people can't recognize a Dunkey meme
But now as good as Super Mario Bro 2
"OH SHIT HE BUSTED OUT THE FEATHER"
first new game plus of 2019 :)
Black Flag, Odyssey and AC3 is soooo good!
The first game does hold a special place in my heart tho'
I must have been real lucky when I played the game. I never had any issues with the flags or templars that I know of. It was the first game I ever completed, and I loved it! It made me want to start completing other games, even though I'm not good at it. lol
Eventually 100 years from now the Assassin's Creed series will still go on... We will call it Hitman
No just...no
I still love the simplicity of the original AC.
About 30 minutes into the second game I was thinking "Man, now that I have this better version AC1 seems pretty bad huh?"
I respect the first game for starting the series and it's unfair to judge it against the games that built on what it began, but I can't help but feel like it's pointless now with how good the sequel was.
Nice video guys! I'm excited for more Completionist in 2019
So a couple years ago, I did a binge playthrough of all the Desmond Miles games, having only played Assassin's Creed 2 and 4. This game was my least favorite of the bunch. While I did not complete the games by any means, I did get a lot of respect for what you do.
awww sry you had a bad time jirard
Altair is my most favourite assassin.....played most of the game and he is the only one whose name I literally can not forget.
I beat the game and I don’t think I ever lost a Templar or flag. I got 100% sync
Same here got it all on one go no problems.
redmanspryd3 yeah, I wonder why he seems to have so many issues.
I honestly didn't realize this game actually glitched or bugged out on other gamers.
redmanspryd3 yeah same
I know I'm a year late but I'm currently playing through the series and starting at the first game. I really enjoyed this video, well not the frustrations but the tips to look out for with glitches... I'm now worried Ive witnessed flag and templar glitches without knowing... Keep up the good work completionist crew!!
you gotta re-play Catherine eventually, Jirard...
and sonic '06
i have the 360 version of the game. and i've 100%-ed it 3 or 4 times. and i felt like it got better with every play through. i can understand how it can get repetitive, but i felt like it didn't bother me as much if i took my time with it. the information you get from the investigations feel rewarding if you use them to defeat your enemy and exploring the city is a lot of fun. i started a new play through just before christmas and i turned off all hud elements, and i had more fun than in any other play through. it felt more immersive and it got me asking more questions about my surroundings.
Not surprising the atmosphere and setting is one of the things he really likes. May or may not be related but Jirard is Arabic by blood if I recall. Its just like how I love Nordic and Czech lore. You can't help it
"INFIDEL!"
Really thankful it became its own thing, it was very influential to video games released since
The first one needs to be remade with some of the modern gameplay added to it , as it hasn't aged well and was kinda, clunky even at the time.
@@fangsabre I would want the combat from at least Brotherhood/Revelation, I find the combat in 1 to just be too clunky and stiff.
@@fangsabre I don't know, I think the combat from syndicate was pretty good
Omg I've been waiting for you to do more assassins creed games forever
Ace combat please! 7 comes out next week!
I'm still loving the original Assassin's Creed as i'm currently playing it on my PS3
All I think of is that my friends..... Are guys in hoods
I remember the marketing for this game. It was fantastic. The atmosphere was so cool the first time I had completed it. On PC.
When are you doing Big Chungus...
sadly it's impossible to complete.
the requirement to complete Big Chungus… *is to become one with Big Chungus*
the game's too big to complete
Big chungus is love... big chungus is life...
But those multiplayer achievements in the chungi mode are gonna be a pain for him.
Omg guys you are soooo funny 😑👌
Hope your feeling better my dude, well wishes from the east coast!
I agree, but there is something about 2 that was just amazing for me
I agree origins and odyssey brought me back in the franchise but I think the Ezio trilogy still tops these two games better story but the new ones have better mechanics
This series was fun up to black flag and thats pushing it the series is washed out and boring
Agreed
That's 100% truth
As a fan of the series I agree that it's getting kinda washed out and should start finding and end point but also like the direction origins put the series intro with Odyssey. It was nominated for goty and that's surprising.
@@zombibyte Fortnite won over GoW and Red Dead 2 and is in the same category as Fallout NV and The Witcher 3. A nomination for GOTY is all but a joke these days.
Put this next to every other game that hasn't aged well, but is still fondly remembered for changing the gaming industry to this day. (weather that's a good or bad thing is still up for debate)
First game is terrible
I hated completing this game but playing it casually is still a fun experience for me since it feels a lot less repetitive and you can actually progress through the story quickly
I love Assassin’s Creed, but this is probably the worst one imo lol
DJ Dragon Nah Unity is by far the worst one. Even without the horrible glitches (which idk if it’s been fixed yet) it’s still a terrible story with pretty average gameplay
I disagree lol
It's weak, even after the second one came out it was already so clunky that it was impossible to go back to, AC2 fixed so much so quickly. The best thing it did was properly feel like an assassin taking out targets as opposed to Ezio being a more Monte Cristo revenge tale
AC1 desperately needs a remake with the fixes later installments did to the gameplay
Nothing will ever beat (hopefully) Unity as the worst one.
I still love 2 and it will probably always stay as my favorite. Also great video!!
I remember getting the dagger in this game (or what I call the quick knife) and it was so quick and brutal. I loved this game to pieces and, while I haven't played all the games or even the entirety of Ezio, I wish they brought back Altair for his own game, even though he was basically a hood with a knife I wish they added to his character a bit more.
everytime i see jirard or watch his video i think back to when i got a picture with him at coxcon 2017 and it makes me happy :D
42 hours into a game you DIDN'T enjoy? Ugggh. Mad props!
I can't argue with the environment vibes you get!
I played the game in 2013, and at the time I liked it. Now I’m tempted to play through it again, just to see if I’d enjoy it as much today...
I just discovered your channel. Really glad I did. I really appreciate your hard work on these vids, dude!
Really liking what you did with the intro sequence :)
I hope you do Assassin’s Creed 2 again, for me It’s my absolute favourite in the series. Ezio has such great charisma!
I compleated this and every other assassins creed game. Loved it all the way through never had a single glitch.
Assassin's are awesome. You know what else would be awesome? A review of Assassin's Creed Odyssey
this game is like the original metroid,
it was ambitious, had many ideas, set the template for future titles and was a pretty good game in its time
but then the sequel came and did everything better
metroid ii: return of samus actually came before super metroid. return is still a great game though
I actually just completed the 1000G 2 months ago, and I have to admit that the Atmosphere is still one of the best in the series.
While the first game isn't anything stellar gameplay wise and the characters are somewhat lacking, the story itself sets up the series as a whole with a fantastic plot (IMO anyway.) Looking forward to seeing the rest in the future as they get so much better from here, Unity notwithstanding, but that's neither here nor there.
one being released every year isnt what makes it bad its the trailing missions
Everyone I talk to about the series says that's what makes it a bad game, because it's got too much content to keep up with
Funny thing is i never found the game repetitive. Call me crazy but i love it's unique mission design.
Boy do I have good memories with this
Thank you for the new game plus Videos!
Can’t wait for the next main episode, it’s my top game of 2018!
Also first time round I appreciated Desmond and learning about Abstergo, so thank god I didn't hate those segments too
You know the video is going to be good when Jirard starts off with the first word being ass twice. Then he does it again! Brilliant!
