2nd Verse Can you really grow a beard like mine? That peach fuzz will be a mighty mane. Beards like these must have the perfect hairline Yet mine can glisten in the rain~ Comb that beard!
Actually I think the simple controls are intentional. Conker isn't an acrobat like Mario. He's a drunken squirrel so instead of backflips and long jumps, he just has a jump and a slighly higher jump. He doesn't have any special attacks, he just swings a frying pan, a f***ing frying pan. He's the anti-platformer.
Censorship in general for anything that isn’t actually made for kids is dumb(and even then there is a fine line between censorship, and desensitizing) because it treats the adults like kids.
There was barely any difference between the two versions in terms of what got bleeped out. There are way more important criticisms of the remake IMO, like how there are dozens of these dumb green guys everywhere that don't add anything to the game and are just annoying. Overall though, I still prefer the remake to the original because of the improved graphics and controls.
I read about the remake the other day, the only reason that the game was censored was to avoid an AO (adults only) rating, so the game could go on store shelves. This was what made the Original a commercial failure, since Nintendo wouldn’t promote the game for obvious reasons
I know that voice actors often voice multiple characters, for example, Simpson has some people who speak like 7 roles. I just find it astounding that ALL characters of one gender are voiced by a single person. That's so much variety.
@@Mike14264 I feel like they should have just when with the first ending choice where sadly conker kills himself. I had so much fun making The Great Mighty Beard with you, thanks for having me!! Creating a vocal orchestral tune was a really enjoyable challenge. I can't wait to release on Spotify & iTunes! 😃
The way Conker: Live & Reloaded was censored sends out a weird mix of messages. Swearing is bad, but portraying blood, gore, alcohol abuse, murder, partial nudity(sexual content?) and bodily waste is ok? It's like if they took GTA and made it a cartoony platform game (fuzzy mascot and colourful world included), and then specifically removed profanity...
A game that was supposed to be family friendly is now only for adults? Conker's Bad Fur Day. The game, and it's developers who were apparently under some crack during the development. But I am actually grateful for that.
@símplyxløvē I know about that, and it's cool that you replied to this old comment of mine so I would remember it. I wonder if he'll re-complete this game again someday.

You are semi-incorrect. There WAS a way to turn off the censorship, but it required the multiplayer mode. There is an option, hidden deep inside the multiplayer, that could be unlocked if you got enough points. It was one of the hardest possible things to get and required 100% the multiplayer campaign, but once unlocked, it removed ALL censorship from the game, not just in multiplayer. Quadriplegic is when four limbs don’t work, the henchmen in the levitating chair has use of his arms which would make him a paraplegic.... Get your sh*t straight!!!
The reason why Conker's Bad Fur Day resonates so profoundly with me to this day is simply because the game came out on March 5th, 2001 - two days before my 21st birthday on March 7th, 2001. And as to why this still resonates with me to this day? Why, that's because the at the onset of CBFD, Conker himself is celebrating his 21st birthday and becomes do damn inebriated that when he wakes up the next morning, hung over and bleary-eyed as a Mother F'er, all he wants to do is get home, but instead endures one misadventure after another in one of the most memorable N64 platformers I ever played before the N64 went entirely defunct. Not only did I love CBFD, but the fact that Nintendo actually sanctioned such an unorthodox 3D platformer, rife with vulgar language; gratuitous violence and a literal "poo - centric" level. The whole game was seemingly against Nintendo's stringent principles and philosophies in that such games like CBFD were both sacrilegious and above all, corporately unethical to their established business practices. But, after the better part of 20 years since CBFD was released by Rare, I hold this game in high esteem as being a unique, ambitious and accomplished 3D platformer for its time, whereas we seldom see such graphic frivolity integrated into any contemporary game this day in age, especially those rife with sexual innuendo. Yes Shadows of the Damned - I'm talking about you! Thank you Conker's Bad Fur Day for making my 21st birthday exceptionally memorable!

The Great Mighty Beard is what sold me on this episode. The video, and especially that little musical bit had me smiling the entire time and laughing too!
Honestly pretty typical of most games from that generation of consoles that went for a more realistic look. It was impressive at the time, but looks incredibly dated nowadays compared to something like the original Conker' BFD that had a cartoony aesthetic that honestly aged better because it wasn't trying to look real in the first place.
The art style is subjective but the controls in the remake are superior. Makes the later half of the game way more bearable compared to the N64. Yes Ive played both
You want to know what's especially sad, when I saw Leafos from Viva Piñata in this video, I teared up. Not from happiness, just emotion. The memories of my swananas being broken by professor pester and losing all of my rare piñatas that I worked so hard for just came rushing back. I don't remember much of my youth, I couldn't even tell you what I did the last few days, but that memory, the sheer emotion it brings from my withered heart is enough. I will NEVER understand the UA-cam auto caption censorship. Sometimes it'll take words like the F word and replace it with [____] in the subtitle Round about 7 minutes it censored the word "cripple" It does not censor the word "dick"
The title art doesn't look angry enough lol. Had me cracking up when I first booted up the game to be greeted with the most sour face ever on the screen
The controls probably feel weird because the N64's control stick is very different from the later control sticks that were made in other generations. To be fair to the n64, it had the FIRST control stick, so they were still figuring out how to do them well.

Still hilarious and tonnes of fun, I had forgotten how frustrating the escape at the end of the war chapter was
I was about 11 when it came out and I remember it being legendarily entertaining among it's peers, yet it fit in so perfectly in the time. It wasn't just that it took all that crude humor and made it its own, it's that it reminded us back then of the crude humor and over the top violence that scored our youths in the 90s.
"New game plus" or as I like to call it "Sticking it to the asshole who wanted all the episodes he was in deleted when he left" but your version works too...
Love the video, better than the original. You've come a long way. I usually can't stand playing N64 games these days, but I played through Conker for the first time a year ago and I loved it (though I wish I could have played the remake, hoping for a decent xbox emulator soon). This goes to show how creativity driven projects can have a timeless feel vs many performance forcused or "modern" games. (Felt similarly with Undertale. I usually hate 2d text only rpgs but that game blew me away).
Kenneth Cambridge Is it? Except for being slightly more censored (barely even), the updated graphics, twin analog controls, full analog movement, being able to attack without stoppings, consistent 60fps, numerous small irritating gameplay mechanics removed, added aiming reticule, and the significantly better audio quaility (same audio recordings as the original except with none of the downscaled compression) make it seems a lot better than the original...
They kinda also arbitrarily changed some things in Live and Reloaded. And really, the game itself to me doesn't hold up like the original. It kinda makes the characters toooo gritty. While when they're more adorable, it keeps the irony there. It also shortens some tasks and changes them up a bit, which while some of them make me thankful, some of them didn't need to be changed. They never found the happy medium.
I was really excited to see you play Conker's bad fur day again. It's one of my favorite N64 games and I really liked your on version of The Great Mighty Poo music lol.
This year has been the year of the retro-reboots for great classic games. Maybe this year or the next that we will FINALLY get a sequel for this awesome game that should have become a franchise.
The censorship in the remake doesn't even make sense, like there's already sexual suggestive content, conker getting drunk, and the storming the beach from Saving Private Ryan, you know, THE SCENE THAT OBLITERATES SOLDIERS VIOLENTLY?! It's like either take out all of the shit (which takes away the point of the game) or take away nothing- so dumb
The graphics also look "updated", but imo, Conker looks horrible. The speech bubbles also have scrolling text in them, rather than new bubbles for each sentence like in the N64 version, so it looks lazy because it's just a paragraph in an oval box. Also, the controls felt wonky, but maybe it was just the Xbox controller; never was a fan of playing games holding a potato anyway... And side note: it's "bad rep", as in "bad reputation", not "bad wrap" lol
MaxxSkywalker I did. The controls felt wonky. I actually never had issues with the N64 controls, even with the sudden sensitivity when turning while aiming. I was able to adjust since I played the multiplayer so much and got used to it XD
TheGoldenDunsparce I didn't have any problems with the controls, and I played it on both the 360 and XboxONE. I felt that the Rare Replay port of the N64 game had some issues, but nothing major.

You are aware that it is more then common in animation? Original VA for Goku is Masako Nozawa.

Lugmillord actually there’s another one that voices the great mighty poo (Chris Marlow)
I know. He said it in the video. I just don't consider a pile of shit to have some sort of gender. But you can put him under male, if you so desire.
Lugmillord I was just saying there’s 3 VA’s instead of 2.
The closest thing we’ve had to the great mighty poo is that opera singing rabbid from the Mario and rabbid game.

Crazelord91 timeless games are a bit Rare nowadays

The remake is worse than the original in many ways.
The Great Mighty Beard is now one of my favorite songs.
We need a full version of the song "The Great Mighty Beard." Make it happen Jirard! =]
I was really excited to see you play Conker's bad fur day again. It's one of my favorite N64 games and I really liked your on version of The Great Mighty Poo music lol.
I am the Great Mighty Poo !!!!
That musical number was unexpected, but I loved it. Great video as ever, Jirard.
Are we going to tell him about the time kratos actually kills a developer.
I thought I hate plat formers but I love conkers back in the day

NewGame+ is an awesome way for a new fan to get caught up. I dig your content.
I AM THE GREAT MIGHTY POP AND I'M GONNA THROW MY SH*T AT YOU!
This year has been the year of the retro-reboots for great classic games. Maybe this year or the next that we will FINALLY get a sequel for this awesome game that should have become a franchise.
Mate...not Nandos, has to be Weatherspoons
Can't miss a good night at spoons
The censorship in the remake doesn't even make sense, like there's already sexual suggestive content, conker getting drunk, and the storming the beach from Saving Private Ryan, you know, THE SCENE THAT OBLITERATES SOLDIERS VIOLENTLY?! It's like either take out all of the shit (which takes away the point of the game) or take away nothing- so dumb
I hate that live and reloaded gets a bad rep when it's the better game just because it censors curse words.
TheGoldenDunsparce Play the game on a 360 or an XboxONE, and you'll find the controls are just fine.
Shoutouts to Brett´s cameo!! Always lovely to see.
Oh, and, Jirard did a pretty good job too... I guess
