Theoretically if the Varla or Welkynd stones can store memories, then possibly that's the way to grant everyone "immortality" like Umeril had. Capacity more like overpopulation. You could just be brought back every time the body dies. Imagine if they did overuse them... The Ayleids would have created their own type of numidium.

4:20 not gonna lie I fangirled a little when scott mentioned my twitter comment about the timeline thing right in the beginning 😂😭 and yeah it is a super loaded question (which is why I need y’all to explain it to me before I drive myself crazy working it out lmao). I feel like the idea of Nirn being an amalgamation of many partially-destroyed previous worlds has something to do with the timeline of all the different species/races/whatever either being indigenous to or colonizing Tamriel...........but idk how lmfao
I’m picturing it as if big chunks of Lyg/super ancient Nirn/whatever were chopped up and rearranged like puzzle pieces during the creation of the world. Like if all the oceans and continents of Earth being picked up and placed back down in a random order so prehistoric Asia is suddenly next to prehistoric America which is suddenly next to Atlantis, etc. 👀 That would be the messy ass creation of mundus during the dawn era, and the Elnofey Wars that “””reshaped Tamriel””” or whatever could be a mythologized version of normal science and evolution adapting Nirn to its new shape post-shattering-of-the-12-previous-worlds or whatever. But that’s just my crack theory 🤷
anyway tho I’m fkn obsessed with this podcast, I love the scripted videos but it’s fun to see y’all bounce ideas off each other too. Some random episode ideas:
-Lyg, the dreughs, the eventual creation of Nirn instead of Lyg, and how Molag Bal and Mehrunes Dagon fit into all that sht in the lore.
-A “family tree” of the Aedra and Daedra and how if at all they’re related. yknow how all the Greek gods are weirdly related in complicated ways? like that.
-this is probably boring as fuck to everyone but me but I would fuckin LOVE to see a breakdown of the staple crops, main building materials, and primary trade goods of each Tamrielic culture. Yes I recognize this is a ridiculous request and a genuinely absurd thing to be interested in. But I would watch the fuck out of that anyway 🤓
but yeah keep up the good work lads

My theory of how it all was made is more an example, this game called *worldbox* has this system where you make a race and a land and can make anything good or bad, just like the aedra kinda but more than to give, theres more than half of the elements as destruction, the daedra are the destruction of aedra's creation.
The aedra are like our gods. They dont do much because they cant intervene now, they used all they were to make us, or that's a theory of all religions? But i see daedra as eldritch gods, they are beyond us and always will be, we cant understand them but we can worship them to get things that no other can give.. We even have the ability to become one (sheogorath in oblivion) i swear i am not using this as a ad for that game..

    • @azadisoleil6319
      @azadisoleil6319 4 роки тому +1

It’s honestly a really fascinating idea. Every time I talk it out I have to start all over when I learn Ayleids were in places I did not think they were in. It began as what if there was no empire but I realized I had to go back further and the question turned into what if no Ayleids. To make it juicer though, the question currently is What if Alessian rebellion failed?

If Allesia failed (and we assume all her allies and Pelinal did too) then there would be no 9 Divines, and odds are there wouldn't ever be an Empire or even Aldmeri Dominion, now that I think about it.
Aside from the Dwemer (who just don't care about anyone else but themselves) the Mer don't have much hatred for each other so long as the stick to their own provinces.
So odds are, the Nords would get ganged by the Chimer, Dwemer, Aylieds, and Direnni if they ever got to that point. Overall, Tamriel may still have bloodshed, albeit not as much.
Sure the humans would for the most part be screwed, save for any in Hammerfell or perhaps Elswyr, but yeah, less conflict.

In 31 of the book Second Seed 2920, the writer describes an altercation with a woman named Turala with an Ayleid who is told to have been naked and living in the forest. He struggled with her, causing her to lose consciousness. Afterwards he had vanished having apparently helped her birth her child. It’s very interesting to think about this interaction so late in the timeline and their connection to the term “Wild Elves”.

Good discussion! I'm thinking about the transformational power of the White-Gold Tower, maybe it's some form of advanced Alteration? It was allegedly built by the Ayleids, who were the founders (and probably Masters) of Alteration. As plausible as the Talos theory is, I think there's definitely a possibility that the Ayleids built the tower specifically for transformational purposes, and it would explain why ONLY that Tower does it while none of the others do. Interesting stuff! Speaking of which, maybe you guys can do an episode talking about how magic works, and why the different schools of magic are divided in specific ways, and how that's changed over time.

Very interesting. You guys should definitely keep digging into that deep lore that a lot of people seem to skip over, even the less interesting stuff is made interesting by you guys. Especially in a podcast setting, something about the longer, natural, conversation you guys seem to have about this stuff makes all the little pieces of lore (especially the parts from further back in the series) connect together for me. I had to stop watching because I was quitting Skyrim (and TES) series in general.
Took too much of my time and too much storage on my pc (mods). I have a better handle of my personal time now and bought an SSD purely for Skyrim. I'm glad you guys have continued the Podcast, I'm looking forward to watching the full playlist.

I agree but would like to point out that there’s a possibility of the heartland high elves kicking around alive somewhere, there’s still a snow elf alive and well in Skyrim, and before the dB dlc we all thought they were literally killed off or turned into the blinded and betrayed, and we also meet Falion who says to us that he’s spoken with the dwemer who we also believed to have disappeared, not saying they are still around but I feel they could make a return someday, honestly if any of the lost races returned I’d want it to be the snow elves, they really did get royally screwed

as a suggestion for the next topic:
perhaps you could discuss the mananauts and other "space" exploration programmes that the empire and the aldmeri use? its the most "sci fi" part of the setting and is really cool as it sets it apart from other standard high fantasy tropes

My personal theory is that Alyeids had mostly blue eyes which is why only certain Altmer still have this trait. There's not really any confirmation for this, I just noticed most Alyeids portrayed in ESO seem to have blue eyes and Alyeids interbred with other mer.
