    The Elsweyr expansion of ESO did soooo much for the khajiit. Just seeing them live their lives in their homeland, seeing their ancient ruins and visiting their monasteries- the khajiit became so much more real.

      ESO in general has done a really admirable job of fleshing out the history of the continent and it’s lore. Especially when it comes to the specific history of some of the races. Not a huge fan of the game in general but it’s pretty good in that area

    This is one thing I’ve noticed while playing Skyrim and listening to the podcasts at the same time..

      Basically, Scott looks like an Elf, lol 😅 some say he could even pass as a Dunmer if someone wanted to draw him like that, give him dark features, but that's only been a few passing comments.

    An interesting side note on Vermina - cats do have nightmares, or at least bad dreams. In some groups or forums, people talk about whether or not you should wake up a cat who is having a bad dream. You could get hurt if your kitty lashes out at whatever he's dreaming about. I guess I know who to blame now!

Ohmes-raht are the furstock in Daggerfall, and have a tail and a thin covering of fur. Suthay-raht are the digitigrade furstock from Morrowind. Cathay are the plantigrade player race in Oblivion (probably), Skyrim, and ESO.

    Honest, i kinda want the next game to be in the kajjit homeland, just so they can expand on the number of available things, so like walking down a street while you could only be the normal one, you could encounter many different types of kajjit, this would allow bethesda to have more unique characters.

      We got a taste of that in ESO with Elsweyr and Dragonhold
      I don't think a game set in Elsweyr would really work, though, since modern Bethesda is incapable of making a game have more than a few similiar 'biomes' (Skyrim has distinct zones but still manages to look the same everywhere) and Elsweyr is *known* for being a sandy dry desert in the North and a luah rainforest in the South.
      Still, great idea there
      I'd suggest ESO's Dragonhold and Elsweyr as well as the 'little' mod for Skyrim called Moonpath to Elsweyr

    I like the Khajiti tale of Meridia or Merid Nunda. She was one of the only children of Magras (Magnus) born without love. It's not clear if she simply is incapable of love, or if she was neglected my Magras. She was banished for the same reason (for dealing with daedra) and was cast out into oblivion. When she met Azura, she struck Merid Nunda across the face. Fleeing into the farthest reaches of oblivion, she used the light of the gods to weave her plane of oblivion.
    There are a lot of similarities, but I like the added elements, such as perhaps Meridia was a child acting out against an uncaring and unloving father.

    In regards to the moon singers all only having fractions of the entire story, I think that's a method of teaching themselves to be content with not knowing everything. Curiosity killed the cat after all, so maybe they consider someone's need to figure everything out as straying off "the path" like you mentioned. Plus the lore around them generally tries to paint them as mysterious so that plays into that.

    I feel like the Senche Raht get a worse rep than the Alfiq. While non-khajiit may mistake an Alfiq as a housecat at first, they are still incredibly magically gifted, and seem to have more respect among both Khajiit and non-Khajiit alike. Meanwhile Senche Raht are often mistaken for beasts of burden by non-Khajiit, though often to the latter's dismay.
    But between being mistaken for a housecat and mistaken for quarry by skilled hunters, I'd almost rather be the magic housecat.

    Can you guys do something on the dissolution of the mages guild, or the mages guild in its entirety? As someone who just plays the games, the skyrim game tip mentioning their dissolution in the beginning of the 4th era is mysterious.

    Wow. I just started my first ever Khajiit character in an ES game, in ESO. Then they make this. 🐱

  • @HumbleScrib
    @HumbleScrib 3 роки тому

    I wonder if the Khajiiti caravans in Skyrim could be or would be considered Baandari Pedlars? They were viewed as sketchy merchants and possible thieves that were forbidden to enter towns iirc. The Baandari lore was added in ESO. In part, this would help explain the poor reputation of Khajiit in Tamriel.

    In lot of the societies it has been a sign of high rank that you have some one to dress you. I assume for the tiny cat khajit it would be maybe embarrassing to go around naked but that's because it's a sign you don't have enough money or societal power to have someone dress you

    Hot take, khajit has better lore than dark elves, the only thing that makes people love the dark elves is the Tribunal (for the most part lore wise)

    • @sirgideonofnir6840
      @sirgideonofnir6840 3 роки тому

      @@ungreatfulduck750 that's a fair point. But other than the game,when people talk about the deep dark elf lore, it's pretty much just vevic's lessons. For me the khajit race, mythology, society is interesting. Dark elves mythology is cool, the society isn't very interesting its just normal politics but with open assassinations and slavery. And the race's only interesting part is they were always dark.

    Finally a podcast episode about Khajiit! This one is pleased about this, yes! *chugs Skooma* Btw, I'd be an Alfiq Khajiit if I lived in Tamriel! I feel that their mythology gets things closer to the truth than any other culture in the TES universe.

      It is admirable that you'd try out the Alfiq lifestyle, however, it is said multiple times they do not really venture out of Elsweyr due to their general size and prejudice

    Could the Void Nights be a result of a secret Thalmor pact with namira? You have theorized that the Thalmor meddle with the daedra. It could also be that the Thalmor smited namira and saved the Lattice
    The Void Nights are quite mysterious

    Honestly I never really relied on the games pronunciations.. In skyrim, Sayma the operator of Bits and Pieces in solitude, when you first enter the shop you'll hear her say "Beerand said you were at the execution" Then you can ask who Beirand is and she says "Bayrand is my husband, he's the blacksmith..." That VA pronounced Beirand in two different ways. Then there's tons of people who say names quite differently. I kind of think they let people do that so it feels more like real life where people will often pronounce things slightly different than one another.

    I think the khajiit are a very good method of understanding the daedra on a deeper level, due to how little they have been demonized compared to the way other races have. The only other culture i can think of that does that are the dunmer, and even they seem to dispise the house of troubles far more than the khajiit do.
