Thank you so much for your kind words and support my friend, it means the world to me and I am so very happy I could help you. Also, that is one of the reasons I started this channel, at 13, the internet was not really out... I had to learn everything on my own... my uncles and step father knew about computers, but didn't have time for me.... so I had to teach myself everything. Fast forward a few years, youtube came out, and there were a few tech channels, and every knew how to do stuff and said, here is easy, look and flew threw things, didn't really show it, which to me means they don't know either, but that's a different story. I would see in the comments people saying thanks so much for the help, but I have this question, stuff they would fly over in the videos, and they would never get answered, so that made me want to make this channel. I was a reviewer initially with Dragonblogger, you will find a lot of my videos there (I started ThisBytesForYou 5 years ago, so it would be after that but I am still very close with Justin Germino, the owner of Dragonblogger) then I came here and did everything on my own but with my focus on teaching everything I could, I am so very happy I could help you.
@@ThisBytesForYou interesting! Thanks for sharing your journey with the pc world..its so great that we are getting your extensive knowledge basically for free. For somone like me who is going to build the first pc ever. This is invaluable. Other channels only focus on fancy editing , music lights and high production quality just to get more and more subscribers since that sells well to attract wider audience. They barely reply to comments and are always looking for hot topics to cover without any substantial knowledge to be shared! Although I do enjoy those videos at times to get some news briefly but the real stuff is what you are doing with your channel for sure! Keep up the good work and sharing your knowledge 👏 I am sure this channel is bound to grow more 🙌
@@abhisheksakpal484 thanks so much my friend for wording it all so well, this is exactly what I am going after. I don't care about pretty lights and fancy editing (mind you, I will get there is video quality one day) but I want to focus on what's good for my audience, to help you overcome your fears in all things PC. I am pushing so hard to help as many people as I can and yeah, trying really hard to have it grow as well, it would help tons if you could share my videos, tremendously as word of mouth is the best advertisement. Also as for commenting yes, it upsets me all the channels that have all the good stuff, but won't help if you have a question, they don't care about their audience, and I get if they don't answer a few comments, I miss some too, youtube is horrible about notifications, but they dont reply to any. Those channels rely on their own audience to help other viewers but the problem is many will give bad advice and I want to make sure to help everyone with good information and they can share that information with their friends, knowing that it is correct. I am so very happy you enjoyed this video and my content, it means the world to me my friend, thank you so much.

You don't need to power up the MOBO to updates it's BIOS. One simply puts the MOBO updater drive in the rear USB port marked "BIOS", and hold the button for 3 seconds. Wait a few mins for the LED to stop lighting up, and once the light stays off it's done. Great video, though!
that is if your CPU is not supported, it's called BIOS flashback, you cannot do that if your CPU is supported. Thanks for the compliments as well, and I am so happy you enjoyed it.

On this mobo, SATA ports 5 and 6 are automatically disabled if you use a second NVME M.2, so I'm not sure what enabling them in the BIOS will accomplish.

Excellent video man. Thanks for making it so clear. Now, a question, did you experience any issues with your LAN port? Disconnecting, losing packages, Windows not recognizing it? I don't have this Motherboard yet, I was planning to get it, buy I read that people have issues with the internet connection because of the Intel LAN Chipset. Thanks in advance.
thanks so much my friend, so very happy you enjoyed it. If you do experience this, Uninstall the LAN drivers it has now, then rescan for drivers and let windows pic it up, that should help. This was the issue they were having
@@ThisBytesForYou thanks for your quick response, didn't buy it yet, but IF I find this problem I'm doing this. I've read on Reddit, that a guy downloaded the LAN drivers directly from the Intel site. This is for anyone having this issue.
@@fergatoreyvirgo always a pleasure my friend, well this is one of those things where I hate asus for re-writting the installer. The problem is they are not tapping the INF file correctly, you can manually point to the INF and install it correctly through the device manager and it would work perfectly, Intel has of course kept their installer perfect which is why it works.
I’m case anyone is having issues with it loading into the bios screen over and over after updating bios settings, I found that the reason for this is because I put all the windows files in a new folder, once I removed it from the folder it had no issues
well no, maybe in your case, there are many reasons why this happens. 1, you just upgraded your PC with liquid cooling and you have to tell your BIOS to ignore the rpms for your liquid cooling unit since its not a fan anymore. 2 you have to tell your BIOS you new boot order and that you booting from the windows boot manager 3, if you have multiple drives that each hd windows on it, tell it which windows boot manager to boot off of, 4 you have incorrect settings, there are tons.
Why isn't my new PC build booting windows 10 onto it? I got it off of the windows website and put it onto a USB, plugged it into the PC and tried to boot it from the USB, then it would flash windows and then go into a boot restart loop thing. I'm stuck and desperately need help.
SO when you make the BIOS USB drive, it has to be created on a FAT32 thumb drive. As for windows 10, make sure you make the thumb drive like I show you in this video, ua-cam.com/video/C759I7DBXd8/v-deo.html and the windows 10 install media and the BIOS flashing drive, cannot be the same drive, different formats.
Film rozwiązał mój problem z zawieszaniem się Windows 10 po uruchomieniu / uśpieniu / przy starcie systemu. Wystarczyło ustawić UAC na "Never notify" podczas instalacji sterowników i problem znikną.
A few questions so I can help 1. Where did you find your drivers 2. How did you install your drivers 3. Where do you not see your drive? 4. What is the manufacturer and model number of your motherboard?

Quick question I switched from Intel to AMD. My new set up is a Ryzen 5800X with a Strix B550 F Gaming motherboard. Since I've updated my parts, it runs smoothly, except when I go into video games, I get a lot of packet loss. I already installed internet drivers too, not sure if I'm missing something or if it's just my ISP. But it's weird that I just started having this issue when I upgraded my PC
there are many potential reasons, starting with the easiest, did you completely wipe and reload that windows drive, or are you running the same install of windows from the Intel build?
@@ThisBytesForYou so previously I had one SSD and that is where I had windows. I recently bought an M.2 Evo Plus 1 TB SSD and that is where I installed windows. All my old SSD still had al my files in it including windows but it's no longer my primary boot.

I got the inspiration to build my first build from this video. AMD RYZEN 5 3600 X/T I'm getting 1 500Mb m.2 and 1TB SATA. ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F maybe the E version GTX 1660 super 16GB RAM (8x2) 600W bronze PSU one of the following cases: 1-Corsair 4000X 2-Corsair 4000D airflow 3-Montech Air 900 (if u have any recommendations please leave them down below)
I think the configuration is great my friend, I am partial to Montech on Cases, very nice cases for great prices but they are sooooo hard to find. Let me know what you come up with. Thanks again for stopping by.
In the local PC store, I can only find the Montech Air 900 but I'm looking for a good airflow build (so ill most likely get the 4000D airflow if its available lol)
So I followed these steps and everything is always working great until I try to download the armory crate, then half way through the install my pc restarts and then can never load back up just crashes on the sign in screen, is there any reason for that?

so go into your device manager, right click on the start button and click "Device Manager" click to expand "Network Adapters" and you should see the ethernet adapter there, it could be errored out, go ahead and right click on it, click "Update Driver", click "Browse my computer for drivers" then click "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer', then click ""Have Disk" then navigate to the directory you extracted your ethernet drivers then click Open, and it should install. Great video, but I have a question. I have the same mobo as in the video, and it keep POSTing in safe mode. How do I boot to windows without a fresh install?
After installing windows the armoury crate software and all that other stuff just downloaded by itself. I didn't need to do anything. Only watched this video for the BIOS-flashing part tho. Nice tutorial. For anyone who is scared of fuckin' it up, there is a BIOS-Flashback button on the IO-Shield which is very, very nice.
yup, it helps a ton. I prefer not to let the crate do it by itself, because it uses what Asus deems suitable, meaning their own chipset and raid drivers, when it is ALWAYS best to get them direct from AMD.COM but as long as it works for you, that is all that maters. BIOS' have come a long way, sooooooo much easier now. So very happy you enjoyed it my friend.

@@ThisBytesForYou sorry I should Of made it out a bit clearer, when I go to install windows from a original windows usb drive it loads up to the install page(after rebooting from the bios) , then says there is an error finding any compatible drive, if this make sense, and this is after a change of a new GPU and CPU,
Can you connect to wifi before installing the Asus wifi drivers? Or do I need to put all of the drivers on a flash drive and install them from that because I don't have ethernet in my house?
yes it is, but a bios update is not only for processor support, but a bunch of features and function fixes and updates. If your going to Zen 3, then you need to update before then.
chances are it will not come with the latest bios just yet, mine did not but yes it will support the 3600 out of the box and anytime my friend, I always love helping.
I had my PC working. Did a bios flash, and it seems like I lost everything and now I am trying to reinstall windows from my original bootable drive and I’m having issues. When I select my SSD, it says I can’t install windows to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, windows can only be installed to GPT disks
Windows can be installed on an MBR, unless your drive is too large but you might want to enter your BIOS, load optimal defaults, make changes as they should be in the BIOS and then try to install again, you will need to delete the old partitions, but I should you that here but maybe this video will help you better: ua-cam.com/video/sNtlz1EoWBM/v-deo.html. Whenever you flash a BIOS, you lose all of the old settings in the BIOS, you should record them, I mention that in this video.

i got a motherboard b550 f rog strix it has a windows 11 ready and a ryzen 5000 desktop ready sticker it means i dont need to BIOS update it?? because i have a 5600X cpu... pls lemme know thanks.
so i followed everything step by step and it send me back to the boot up screen where you F1 to get into the bios, is it because i dont have windows for it yet or because i messed up somewhere? this is a new built pc as well
It's taking you back to f1 because there is no where else to go, check out this video for how to get windows 10 on a thumb drive to install it ua-cam.com/video/C759I7DBXd8/v-deo.html

Would you maybe want to help me with my issues? Lol. I have the thumb drive. I get to partition screen. It says drive 2 unallocated 929gb. I click that and hit next. It goes thru the install…then come the restart. I don’t take the thumb drive out and it loads right back into the windows install now screen etc. I redo all these steps however when it restarts I remove the thumb drive and it loads to the bios. 🤦🏼♂️. I’m so lost on what to do. I’ve changed settings in the bios b/c one of the settings was disabled, and not allowing me to see the hard drive that was installed. I could do a FaceTime with you, and even Venmo you a fee lol. I’m at my breaking point. Hahaha.
Always happy to help, for facetime because I have zero hours to myself, with work, day job and reviewing my night job, wife and kids and dogs, it would be $80 an hour. It might be best on here though. So start, make your windows 11 thumb drive live I show you here: ua-cam.com/video/ayp8TksEtoY/v-deo.html, don't use any other method, because your chances of failure are high. For windows 10, use this method: ua-cam.com/video/C759I7DBXd8/v-deo.html, I don't recommend 10, I recommend 11. OK, 2nd thing is remove the SSD you don't want to install windows on, I first recommend deleting both drives, so that there are only 2 unallocated drives, once there are 2, shut down your computer, remove 1 SSD. Once you have removed one, then you can watch the video we are chatting on now, and it will work. Let me know how it goes.
Hi i have a question about bios flashing...let say i have ver 1.0 of the bios..And on the asus homepage there is bios ver 2.0,3.0,4.0 and 5.0..Do i need to update them in order or can i just jump to ver 5.0??? Peter
That is a great question my friend, but you would have to check that link. Read each of the BIOS' between the version you have an the latest, some BIOS' will say you need to flash to this version before you get to this version, but not all, so check first. Thanks so much for that great question.
flashing the BIOs doesn't always fix an issue, its kind of like putting gloves on your hands when your feet are cold. So that I can help, list the manufacturer and model number of your motherboard, processor, video card, power supply, SSD and monitor.
Try following this video to make a new windows install drive: ua-cam.com/video/C759I7DBXd8/v-deo.html, then use the video we are chatting on to install windows. Many people try making their windows 10 thumb drives on a mac, it will not work or rufus, which works, but many mess it up, let me know how that goes.

I did not flash my bios and direct to installation of windows10 and it gaves me a bluescreen telling me that file: FLTMGR.sys Error code what should i do?
I'm upgrading one of our computers with the ASUS ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS WiFi II AMD AM4 (3rd Gen Ryzen™) ATX Motherboard, Ryzen 5 5600X, I have a Radeon GPU not sure of which one now. I bought a Western Digital M.2 1 tb. I have a Samsung SSD 1 tb currently running Windows 10 Home. I want to clone the Samsung drive to the Western Digital M.2. Is that possible and also noticed cloning software is subscription monthly or yearly. I want it for this use only. Do you recommend cloning software that I can buy once and no subscription. Also what is with buying a key? So if I have Windows 10 or 11 on one of my computers can I buy a CD Key and install using that on another computer? Not sure how that works or is legal. Thanks for you reply and time.
Yes it's possible and you can still do it with this software free, you get a 30 day trial, but if not you can watch this video, both ways, make sure you follow the instructions I show you in the bios and setting up the OS if not you will possibly get a blue screen but do always recommend a clean install of windows ua-cam.com/video/aHVCmkm67q8/v-deo.htmlsi=GF10bK8NqplEM2Mj
There is no save and reset, save and exit is what you do. If you don't have an os on that drive, it will boot from the thumb drive with windows on it. Do you have that?
I have a Ryzen 9 5900x and the non WiFi version of this motherboard with a RTX 3070. This is my first build and unfortunately I am unable to proceed with windows installation from a USB stick. It is stuck in a loop on ROG screen. Any guesses as to why this is happening?
could be a few things, the BIOS is not setup properly or maybe you did not make the thumb drive properly. Check this video, it may help you: ua-cam.com/video/C759I7DBXd8/v-deo.html
So I configure the bios and everything I set everything to what you did and when I go to install windows I click the m.2 to install it on and when it finishes it restarts but it keeps sending me to the download page. I’ve been trying to figure it out for the past couple days and I just need help
I am getting a Samsung 970 Evo 1tb m.2. do I need to do the Link thing and what gen do I do At 5:06 you changed something from auto to x4. What does this do? Do I need to do it for the 3060ti fe? Can I just enable DOCP and be done? Do I need to hold down the bios flash button? What is SB link mode and do I need to change it? Sincerely, Zander Sachs
x4 would have been for the video card and the M.2 drive, the TI' is a x4 card. Yes, enable DOCP and it will take care of you. SB Link mode keeps the cards at the same PCIE speed.
I have a very similar case but i ran into a problem i have the same gpu as you and mobo but mine is b450 and the gpu is a phantom gaming edition rx5500 but when i install it it doesnt go in it gets stopped by one of the cases metal brackets and the metal prongs on the gpu dont slide in they stick out
Pull the card out, make sure the slot and pci expansion port is clear and when you slide the card back in, make sure the prong is on the inside of the case
I really need someone’s help, I believe I swapped a few steps and clicked the wrong stuff, I downloaded windows and can access it but only by clicking on something called “windows manager nvme m.2” in the boot override section. It was last night that I was trying to get it to work but I think it wasn’t even displaying boot options. Does anyone know what I’ve done, and how I can make it so it boots strait to windows, windows itself works fine.
Hi I have a noob question regarding motherboards. I have bought this mobo and I want to ask if its okay if I just put my ssd with windows there. Or do I need to do a fresh windows installation? Will everything be deleted in the process if I do that? Not only windows but my files I mean. Thanks
well you can, but you will have issues, it will work but things will not work 100%, things will be slow and you might get issues, I HIGHLY recommend you reinstall windows like I show you here.
I have 1 question, Sir when ever i am playing youtube video on my pc, why videos are not playing smooth even when i select 1080p resolution all video played like 360P.

Best tutorial for the initial setup! Most youtubers just fast forward all this and make it look like they show every thing!

On this mobo, SATA ports 5 and 6 are automatically disabled if you use a second NVME M.2, so I'm not sure what enabling them in the BIOS will accomplish.

if I download windows and use a flash drive instead of the product key will I face any problems in the future. or will I need to buy a product key
you will need a product key later, the windows 10 install will last you for a few months then you will see the windows 10 water mark, after about 6 months or so, the performance will start to drop and you will need to either enter your product key, or just wipe and reload the operating system.

@@ThisBytesForYou I agree!
@ThisBytesForYou I finally got the Strix B550 F motherboard, now I have a question, should I format my SSD and do a clean Win install, or not?
Awesome vid, also I’d dig seeing a RAID vid too. Cheers
Thanks my friend, I will what I can do about raid

Why isn't my new PC build booting windows 10 onto it? I got it off of the windows website and put it onto a USB, plugged it into the PC and tried to boot it from the USB, then it would flash windows and then go into a boot restart loop thing. I'm stuck and desperately need help.
when you made it, did you make it like this ua-cam.com/video/C759I7DBXd8/v-deo.html and did you make it on a PC or a mac?
When I click on my drive it doesn’t let me load and when I try installing windows says that I’m missing files but I’m not idk how to fix it
SO when you make the BIOS USB drive, it has to be created on a FAT32 thumb drive. As for windows 10, make sure you make the thumb drive like I show you in this video, ua-cam.com/video/C759I7DBXd8/v-deo.html and the windows 10 install media and the BIOS flashing drive, cannot be the same drive, different formats.
Does the B550F have wifi with it or nope I'm trying to figure that part out I didn't know there was a B550F wifi
There are 2 versions, one with and one without, this one has wifi, you can use the link in the description.
Do you have a video on attaching all the wires to the motherboard? Especially all those tiny ones for Power on, Restart, HDD Activity etc.
Sure, you mean like this: ua-cam.com/video/_2AmUgYjuWY/v-deo.html but maybe this one will be better for you: ua-cam.com/video/k6A3MG3yJzQ/v-deo.html

i go to install windows 10 i even save the changes after placing usb win boot to first priority boot. what can i do to fix this?
well, you should use Windows11, but if you need to use 10, what this video to see how to create the media, don't use anything else but this video on how to create the media: ua-cam.com/video/C759I7DBXd8/v-deo.html
Hi there i have a problem . i have got to the stage of installing windows and i need to bw connected to the internet. For some reason my annetnna is not being recognised by the OS and i dont have access to Ethernet ... how can i get round this. i feel like the drivers have not been recognised in the BIOS for WIFI
you need to get the drivers, sorry, but there is no way around it. Maybe you can download them on your phone and use a cable to connect your phone to your pc and transfer the drivers?
Thanks for the video! I know this video is a bit old, but I have a question. When trying to install Windows, I consistently run into this error message:
"The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant."
This keeps coming up even after I update the BIOS. Any suggestion on this?

2. CPU - manufacturer and exact model number
3. RAM - manufacturer and exact model number
4. Video Card - manufacturer and exact model number
5. Power supply - manufacturer and exact model number
6. UEFI in the BIOS from Legacy. If it was set to Legacy, you will need to reinstall windows to get correct support.
7. Disable CSM in the BIOS
8. M.2 - Manufacturer and exact model number, if you have any, and how many you have in this system
9. Regular SSD - Manufacturer and exact model number, if you have any, and how many you have in this system
10. Hard Drive - Manufacturer and exact model number, if you have any, and how many you have in this system
11. How did you create the windows 10 install media?

7. Do you have ALL of the PCIE connections plugged in, and not daisy chained or pigtailed, each coming directly from the power supply?
8. Are you running through HDMI, DP, DVI, VGA, any adapters?
9. What slots do you have your RAM installed in?
How were you connected to the internet instantly it doesn’t work for me and when I try to download the drivers on a usb it says it doesn’t support my version of windows

So I followed these steps and everything is always working great until I try to download the armory crate, then half way through the install my pc restarts and then can never load back up just crashes on the sign in screen, is there any reason for that?
Try uninstalling the Amoury crate, then reinstalling it, try from within Safe mode, but no, I have never seen that before.

Hey I have this motherboard and my Ethernet cable doesn’t work any idea how to fix it?
so go into your device manager, right click on the start button and click "Device Manager" click to expand "Network Adapters" and you should see the ethernet adapter there, it could be errored out, go ahead and right click on it, click "Update Driver", click "Browse my computer for drivers" then click "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer', then click ""Have Disk" then navigate to the directory you extracted your ethernet drivers then click Open, and it should install. Now, you will need to download them from some your other pc then bring it over to this pc.

Great video, but I have a question. I have the same mobo as in the video, and it keep POSTing in safe mode. How do I boot to windows without a fresh install?
what do you mean posting in safe mode? can you explain it so I can help you.
@@ThisBytesForYou Good to know. Didn't have many driver-related problems, except for the nvidia drivers which crashed because Davinci Resolve couldn't handle the gaming drivers. Switching to studio drivers helped.

right click on the start button, the click "Device Manager" then double click to expand "Network Adapters", the locate the ethernet adapter, right click on it, click Uninstall device, then delete driver check box, then click OK, then when its all done being deleted, click "Action" and "Scan for Hardware changes" and it should detect the wireless device, if not, point it to where you have the extracted wireless drivers and it will clear that up for you.

Can you connect to wifi before installing the Asus wifi drivers? Or do I need to put all of the drivers on a flash drive and install them from that because I don't have ethernet in my house?
put them all on a thumb drive and install. Not sure if it will work out of the box though, I did not try that but I don't see why it would not.
I thought that the ryzen 5 3600 is out of the box -compatible with b550 motherboards? Or am I completely lost my mind?
yes it is, but a bios update is not only for processor support, but a bunch of features and function fixes and updates. If your going to Zen 3, then you need to update before then.
Thanks for answering!
So the motherboard doesnt come with the latest bios, but will support the 3600 anyways? Did I get it right?
chances are it will not come with the latest bios just yet, mine did not but yes it will support the 3600 out of the box and anytime my friend, I always love helping.
Thank you very much!
anytime my friend
Great explanation, thank you! Could you make a video explaining how to enable RAID and what it does exactly?
thank you my friend, as for RAID, I want to, I have thought about it a lot, but there is a lot to explain, trying to figure out a way to make it easier to explain, I am working on it though, so stay tuned my friend ;)

Why do you fight updating the bios?
so i followed everything step by step and it send me back to the boot up screen where you F1 to get into the bios, is it because i dont have windows for it yet or because i messed up somewhere? this is a new built pc as well

Let me know how it goes.

i have a question about bios flashing...let say i have ver 1.0 of the bios..And on the asus homepage there is bios ver 2.0,3.0,4.0 and 5.0..Do i need to update them in order or can i just jump to ver 5.0???
Peter
That is a great question my friend, but you would have to check that link. Read each of the BIOS' between the version you have an the latest, some BIOS' will say you need to flash to this version before you get to this version, but not all, so check first. Thanks so much for that great question.
So question do i need to update the bios ! My pc wont make it past the windows logo 😮💨
flashing the BIOs doesn't always fix an issue, its kind of like putting gloves on your hands when your feet are cold. So that I can help, list the manufacturer and model number of your motherboard, processor, video card, power supply, SSD and monitor.

Well first, you should flash your bios to the latest version, but aside form that, have you tried repairing windows?
I'm upgrading one of our computers with the ASUS
ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS WiFi II AMD AM4 (3rd Gen Ryzen™) ATX Motherboard, Ryzen 5 5600X, I have a Radeon GPU not sure of which one now.
Thank you so much!! Question: the latest BIOS does not have a save and reset/ only save and exit... so where do i go from there to install windows?

You have to change the boot order when you are done to the windows boot manager for the m.2 ssd.
I am getting a Samsung 970 Evo 1tb m.2. do I need to do the Link thing and what gen do I do
At 5:06 you changed something from auto to x4.
Change the boot priority to windows boot manager m.2 so that its the first drive to boot off of.
