This Husqvarna rider I got on a trade for the John Deere D110. It ran and cut but the Kohler engine had almost vibrated off the mower and the rest was very dirty. Let's fix it and make it look like new again!
Boy that thing was NASTY and turned out AWESOME!!! GREAT JOB CASEY!!!!
Hey Ellis!!! Great video!!! Just wondering how's come you don't do zero turn mowers or snowblowers just wondering by the way???
Thank you! Not enough snow where I live for snow blowers, just got two zero turns in the last month which will be coming up on the channel later in the year! Cost of entry is high which was a big barrier originally.
I have same model with same engine. Bought new in 2007 and it still looks brand new. I have learned that a little preventative maintenance each season goes a long way. Ive had to replace some parts along the way but it still runs like a champ!
I bought one on the cheap, cuz of smoking problem. The cork type valve cover gasket dont hold up to the heat right above the muffler. I siliconed valve cover, but also took piece of sheet metal on frame, in between v-cover gasket and muffler, for heat shield/oil barrier lol. No smoke, no problem. Been mowing for over a year as of now. Thanks fof video tho, earned my sub
Nice! The valve cover leak is one of the hardest to fix on these. Thanks for the sub!
What size are those engine mount bolts? From the manual it looks like either 3/8-16 x 1" or 5/16-18 x 1.25"? Thanks
I couldn't tell you for sure, I have so many I just grab one from the pile when I need one.
I have this exact mower and it recently started sounding like yours when shutting off. If you’ll notice in the video it vibrates pretty hard. Is this a normal thing? I also have the same number of hours on mine!
The mounting bolts probably have worked their way loose. Happens all the time on these mowers. As long as the mounts have not stripped out you can fix it by just tightening them back up and putting red Loctite on the threads.
that baby needs gas and matches
I put new belt on my but it want pull it pull but it's very slow idk.
Was it an OEM replacement? Sounds like the belt is a little too long.
I have a Husqvarna YTH21K46 Kohler. I let it set up for a year, now it want start. I don't see any fuel in the fuel filter. Do it have a fuel pump and where is it located ?
Depends on if you have a rear mounted gas tank. If you do, then yes. If it's mounted behind the engine, maybe. It depends on the model. It'll either be tied to the oil dipstick or valve cover gasket in order to get a pulse.
@@EllisMowersandmore the gas tank is near the engine. It seems like a free flow line going to the carburetor. Where will the fuel pump be located?
That was my childhood lawn mower and I've been looking for one forever And I love it
The way it was smoking, think how many mosquitos you killed! ;-)
Was the oil leak the valve cover gasket? I just noticed.my Husqvarna LGT 2554 leaking oil. I haven't dug into it yet. I thought it may either be the drain plug, or valve cover gasket ? You cleaned it right up real nice. John
Yes it was the valve cover gasket. They are notorious for leaking really badly.
I have the exact same mower and I had the same problems.
I hate the mower deck system on this model. The whole front of the deck held up by a single rod of metal. On my rough lawn the deck floats all over the place and hits roots etc. I'm thinking about putting in long bolts from under the deck on both sides up through the foot rest area. to stabilize it.
These are prone to breaking deck brackets if they get abused some or if you cut low. I wish there were more mounts and were more sturdy.
You did a nice job cleaning that up. I have the same model Husqvarna but it just started leaking fuel out of the carburator/air filter area. Is that an easy fix or should I just replace the carburator?
For the Kohlers, I usually just get an aftermarket carb. This is really common for them to fail.
Man I was not sure it was going to be an easy fix with all that smoke it was blowing. But you diagnosed it correctly and it came out fantastic. How do you add ATF and how does it seal a leak? Thanks for the video.
Thank you! I add ATF just like you would add slime. I just reuse slime bottles and it works great.
i like these harqvarna videos
Good deal on that one.
It cleaned up really nice there after all that leaking and being loose like that.
