I see more manufacturing automation coming with these robots, and with the help of AI they can also be used in agriculture/farming etc. 2 of these humanoids working on alternative shifts (while one is charging) could easily replace a worker for about $32,000 to $40,000 total, and obviously the investment would pay off within less than a year, given that they can work double the human hours per day to say the least. Furthermore such technology could be used in space and inhospitable environments, for example building a base on the Moon or on Mars, or just building stations in Earth orbit. There are so many advantages of such technology, and I'm very thrilled to live at a time that it's developed and implemented.

to be honest, we haven't really seen much of Boston dynamics new atlas, if at all anything, since they JUST announced it, so we can't automatically assume unitree wins, but so far, in terms of smoothness and looks. Boston dynamics definitely beats unitree, while united is shown to do lots of very impressive things, Boston dynamics has been doing robotics in bipedal work for over almost a century. but, I do see that both will have very different pourpuses, unitree's robot is most likely and will be used for public and civilian use, due to its lightweight design but low motor dexterity, while Boston dynamics design is more bulkier, and its far more dexterous control, as shown in uprighting and walking. Will be used for manufacturing and high stressed jobs, most likely, heavy duty industries and work. and for all of you bots who comment "unitree is just better, or Boston dynamics is just better just because it looks cooler or because I said so. most robots are in fact revolutionary, and could change the way the world works forever. hope this debate helps "ps, I meant both robots are in fact revolutionary"

Shouldn't be any limitations. I know people FEAR change but its change that also creates innovation.
Ie. If we can replace most jobs with robots, this mean LONG TERM the economic model for the world will change. Because no ones going to hire a robot over a human unless a human gets paid so they have money to buy whatever the product being made is.
So perhaps eventually a company only makes a 3-5% profit annually and pays governments most of the profit and when you add all of these up and pass the profits back to the people they get a free living wage for just being a consumer?
Anyway you see my point. This capitalist model will always destroy itself just like everytime in history. But whatever model we move to we can learn from those failures and try to be better.

    Stop punching & kicking robots.

As a society we must demand politicians implement laws banning robots in war/defense.
