Thank you for this video! I just built a version of this today and as a bonus, I was able to prop my weight bench on the platform in a way that I can use the pulley to do leg curls and leg extensions. Great content!
Looking forward to the upcoming videos. Wall in the background looks awesome. I really like your wood stain idea. I have done a few DIYs with some scrap wood and got some cheap left over stains from a local mom and pop paint shop. The said add an extra pop to the gym.
Hey thanks! Yeah it is a really great way to mask the mismatched colors. I did the same thing with the storage wall, adding a few additional colors. Glad you like it!
Kyle, just a chain from your belt to the overhead with a carabiner on both ends. Start and stop in the standing position but clipping / unclipping the carabiner at the top, without having to worry about bits of wood.
@@amsterbyu It's so simple: a chain from the belt going straight up to the caribeaner at the cable in front of your face. When you standing it holds all the weight, unclip it and you're folding all the weight, No idea how to up load a photo on you tube,
Yep. Because of your FB group io upgraded my floor pullies with 360 swivel casters . Forgot to buy " stoppers " ill buy sa bunch a wooden " DOLL HEADS "
Going to build this this week. I have an IronMaster Tower with a low row station. Should this be routed through the front of the platform. Need to come up with some support handles, maybe uprights on the side of the platform and then a pipe handle? Love your creativity.
Maybe... Going to build one of you boxes or maybe a hybrid version. Using the low row cable and concerned about routing to the main pulley. I got the blue one you recommended. I saw on one of you videos the low row pulley cable almost hits the wood platform. Can I just get a longer cable and move back a little?
Great idea for the catch lever. I would like to incorporate that idea on my tower, however I’m not well versed with woodworking. How did you create that pivot point? Did you use a spacer sleeve and then slide a bolt through? Or did you just drill a hole big enough for the bolt? Thank you for the great content!
Great channel!!!! Now that the railtrainer company closed, is there any alternative to their retractable pulley system? I really love the idea of how you can change the length of cord in a flash. thanks in advance!
As always, sick build! Quick question concerning the pulley placement. It looks like you positioned the pulley under the fourth 2x4 (you mentioned wall stud so I’m assuming it’s a 2x4). At roughly 12 inches back from the base of the cable pulley tower, are you satisfied with the placement? It looks awesomely comfortable for belt squats, yes, but I’m thinking about using the back edge of the platform in conjunction with a seal pad for donkey calf raises. Thanks!
There is a company that makes something similar called the Squat Box MX1182 by BodyKore. They basically used the same concept as you did here. It's a metal platform with a pulley and cable that attaches to another cable or a resistance band. But it's way overpriced for what it is, they want $349 for something you could make for about $100 or less. Maybe you could review it some time.
I built a platform using a wooden 48" x 30" Ikea table I had lying around..glued and screwed 2 plys of 1/2 inch plywood to the top and fixed the pulley on top as I didn't need to recede it. I simply bolted the single stack to the back 1/2 of the platform which is pretty heavy and stable with the optional BOS back upright, does not tilt even during weighted dips.

This might make the whole piece look kind of awkward, but can’t you simply use 2 4x4 posts vertically, 1 2x4 horizontally across the 4x4 tops, and 2 2x4s running at an angle on each outside of the platform, to create a railing to hang on to while squatting? Do we think this would be functional and sturdy? I’m not liking the idea of grabbing the weight plates as 1.) I don’t have those kind of plates 2.) I feel that with significant weight / over time of use, the extra force pulling toward you (if you develop that habit) could damage/bend your weight stack smith bars.

Always bringing it with the innovation kyle! We for sure want to work on the products once we finish up our crazy year of releases 😅😅
Totally understandable! I will be ready when you are.

From what you’re describing, I’m visualizing something like the handles on the Squatmax MD

Great timing! My Bells of Steel plate loaded cable tower is supposed to show up tomorrow. Awesome build man!

Yes! Check out Dialed Motion!
I have their system now and am working on a review video.

Yes, the placement is perfect for me. This is the second version I’ve made and the pulley on the first was way too close to the tower.

Does this platform work with the titan v3 wall cable machine?
Dimensions are different. Check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/3wm8EXJbm6g/v-deo.html
Is there a way to modify it to fit the titan tower? I wanted to raise it the 3 inches and have the low row support for the legs.
I bought your plans and on their it said it could be motified for other towers. Wondering if you knew the differences for the titan tower?
I wonder home many times Rogue and Rep have offered this guy a job?
Do you think the platform would add enough stability on its own to forgo bolting the tower to the wall?
No. I would still recommend bolting it to the wall or something equally sturdy

Why hasn't this product been manufactured professionally yet? Are there any alternatives made of steel or does anyone have another idea?
I’ve been pitching it for years. So far no one has been interested in making it. To my knowledge there aren’t any alternatives available
@@KaizenDIYGym whats the reason the companys dont want it? safety issues?

That’ll probably work. I typically don’t go super heavy on these belt squats. The tower has a max of 300 pounds.
@@KaizenDIYGymis that max with the aluminum pulleys or plastic?
👍👍

Great innovations, just wish there was longer clips of the actual stuff instead of your face;)
I take that into consideration for next time
