in this quest, you can discover his wife cheated him for one of his employe (the employe got killed by the monster). by searching his corps, you can find a proof that the employe and the wife were in love. you can give this dude the proof for more reward. i always give this to his wife, letting him in the dark about him being cheated. maybe i would considered telling him, if he wasn't such a karen.
it's either the starter armor or, much more likely for a blood and wine character, it's the viper set. you get the crafting items from the old lady at the auction in the heart of stone dlc. make sure to express interest in her witcher artifacts in the initial dialogue with her and she'll let you buy them from her in the subsequent dialogue once she goes onto the balcony. might want to save right before you go into the auction house just in case you need a second try at it. :)

It is the mastercraft Feline armour. Once you find the diagrams you can have it made by Yoana in Crow's Perch in Velen. If you did their quests.
