Listen, Martina: thank you for always thinking of a variety of challenges folks have - down to the distance you walked. I haven't seen other guides that include sensory issues! Thank you for seeing us and for building a better world for travelers. You rock. 💕😻
You are so welcome! I think a lot of travel videos are unrealistic, to be honest. They’re made to look pretty and perfect. But I don’t want to make “the perfect” edited fake video. I want to share a REAL slice of travel life. When I have a rough pain day, my whole sensory experience is messed up. I get overwhelmed by loud noises, feel actually scared by sudden noises. I know I can’t be alone in these experiences, so I wanted to share some safe spots and the reality of travel with these Tour videos. I hope it can help!
Love the video Martina. Thank you for cheering me and my wife up after a rough day losing our cat to cancer. She'll be up there with our cat Chappie and your Spudgy.
Oh Philip 😔 I’m so sorry to hear that, such a hard time. Hope this isn’t too triggering of a video so soon after your loss. But yes, they’re all pain free and just exploring in animal paradise together.
Maaaan, every time I watch one of your Tokyo Tours videos, I always find myself thinking, damn, how come Martina isn't one of the top-rated, most subscribed Japantubers? Because you REALLY deserve to be. I know it's an overused word when describing content creators these days, but your content is just so... comfy! You're so much more intimate than other Japantubers, really making it feel like we've come along with you to your destination and are right there by your side, chillin' hard and eatin' good. It's like we're not just watching your videos, we're EXPERIENCING them! And the little quizzes and such, along with the super-chillaxed lo-fi beats that accompany them, really help punctuate the experience. Normally when I comment, I recommend places I've been to as well for you to check out, or I timidly issue small corrections (I can't help it, I'm an editor, I'm sorry!), but this time around... I got nothin'! I just wanted to write a comment and tell you that you're awesome as always, I need to check out this cat temple sometime for sure, and I look forward to the next video. Keep on keepin' on!

Behind the scene info: we exported 5 version of this one all these weird tiny export errors from colour correction to spelling mistakes, to one section that I felt needed more voiceover. I actually did catch a couple minor issues with this video, even (specifically, you repeatedly referred to Sangenjaya as "Sen"genjaya), but I didn't think they were worth mentioning in my initial comment, since they just seemed like kind of a personal accent sort of thing, you know? Been having a really bad month dealing with my disabilities, but seeing you pop up with all your colour, smiles and resilience.. it works wonders on my mental health. Thank you for everything you do Martina ♥️😺
And then I see comments like this and it gives me more motivation to push through and forward with my own pain. So thanks for sharing Nat, and we’re in this together, let’s keep building 🪜 🔨
Agree with you totally, helps me a lot too. Sometimes I focus too much on what I can’t do instead of being grateful and happy with what I can do. Best wishes to everyone 😁
Ive watched you since you first moved to Korea and I must say I love how much comfort your videos have given me in different points in my life. I am loving all the content on King Kogi and I can't wait for more videos. Sending much love and positive vibes for 2023 and beyond, I hope to build many ladders in 2023.
I really hope your channel blows up, not only are your videos super informative, they’re aesthetically pleasing, and you’re so personable, what’s not to love? 🥰
It would be exciting to reach a larger audience just for the sake of sharing more of this off-the-beaten path Japan! There is just SOOOO much of Tokyo to explore outside the normal spots, I wish people knew! But I'm also not sure I'm everyone's cup of tea haha I do have a strong personality 😅
You are glowing! This quality of this Tokyo tours is the best yet and I’m so jelly of your denim jacket 💛 Also ever since you’ve mentioned that every city has an underground sticker scene, I’ve noticed that my city’s mystery sticker goes by “Nomad.” It’s hidden behind every stop sign and traffic post. You have opened my life to a whole new world of art. Keep doing you, I’m so grateful!
Fellow Canadian/Torontonian - my husband and I are visiting late March/April. Thank you so much for all of your tours Martina. You are such a light and I am absolutely obsessed with the King Kogi mascot. Keep up the great work
I was watching this and my partner walked behind me and stopped to say, "Look at her. Look at her thriving and being happy." He's used to me watching your videos. We're so happy to see you doing well. Absolutely loved the video and the vibes! Enjoyed the cat puns and the little quizzes are so cute!
As a cat lover I enjoyed this video very much. Bao are delicious. I always buy two and can only eat eat one. I reheat the other bao by wrapping it in a wet kitchen paper towel and microwave for 30 seconds.
I absolutely love your new channel Martina! You look so much happier and it’s so great to see that you’re doing well. I still hold your, “Build a ladder” mantra very near and close to my heart and wish you so much love and success with your Tokyo Tours series
Never stop doing these Tours! I watch them on my treadmill and imagine I am walking along with you exploring. There are plenty of walking videos where the walker just walks silently with a camera but not many videos where the walker chats and tells you about where you are walking. I want to feel like I am there with a friend and learning about the area. Thank you for making these great tour videos and being so funny and lively!
LOVE this video! Cats are very special to me. ❤ My little best friend came to me mere months before my health tanked, and she's kept me building my ladder ever since. She's a wonderful snuggler and a joy every day. Cats are magical little beings!
My fiancé and I are planning to honeymoon in Japan. Your guides are going to be awesome for us! So excited for a chance to visit places seen in your tour videos!
when you upload a new video i always get a warm snack and cozy and comfortable to watch, it's like hanging out with an old friend, i'm glad to see you having fun and being silly and enjoying good food Martina, keep on keeping on!
Thank you SO MUCH for sharing that goto is wheelchair accessible! I’m always looking for this sort of info and it is often overlooked in online travel content. Really appreciate it!!! 💕
@@KingKogi I’m planning to travel to Japan, it’s a bucket list item for me, and have a wheelchair or rollator for flare days. I am always keeping an ear out for accessible places to go there :) do your new guides have any accessibility info included?
Honestly these are my comfort videos! I get so excited to see these on my feed as I wake up on Saturday morning and I make myself some breakfast, watch them on my TV then go on my phone to comment! My sister is lucky enough to be visiting Japan this year and she's vegan so I've sent her the info of your guides! 🐷🤍 Thanks Martina!
Hello Martina and friends! Popped here to gush about cats because... Cats. But the hugely warm positive number of comments here is so wonderful and...well...warming! My soul is so cozy! Thank you kind people! You made me smile as much as Martina did! ❤️🐱❤️🤗
I loved this so much! And the tiny cat meow you put in for the cat legend made me jump lol! It sounded like it was coming from stage left and I genuinely was like, um... *meow, back*?
Hi Martina!! Because of you I knew about this beautiful temple and was able to visit today. I also learned, through a sign in the temple, that we’re not supposed to write or draw on the bodies of the cats because they are sacred! I thought this would be a good fact for all of us to know next time we visit ~ ❤
This is such a quality and calming video! I'm so impressed with how you improved your camera work and editing since you started King Kogi channel. (And I love that Sailor Moon jacket! 😺)
Your delivery during the video and the voice overs are just perfection. I am sure you work so so so hard at it but it sounds effortlessly friendly and conversational. I really appreciate how clear and real you are. Will definitely check out the guide.
We really enjoyed Gotokuji. It was so peaceful and pretty! We didn't consider taking the tram though, which seems way more chill than the train! It might be worth going back to try that bakery! ❤
I have contamination OCD. I haven't stayed in a hotel in over a decade. There are places I'd like to go (especially Japan), but just can't. I love your videos so much. Thank you for being you. 💕
A GLUTEN-FREE GUIDE?! Martina you have outdone yourself! I have always been worried about what I'm gonna able to eat when I go so you are really a life-saver!!!
We found your King Kogi Kitty! I've been following your videos for a while now, while we planned for our trip to Japan, and now that we're here we followed in your footsteps and visited this beautiful temple, then the Todoroki Valley. There are so many cats there now they're not accepting more at the temple. We have to take them home. Thank you for inspiring us to explore! Keep up the awesome work Martina ❤
Cats, Japan, and Martina = a Purrfect video!!💕✨🐱🐱✨💕 thanks for showing us all of these ameowzing places! I’ve been having a hard few months with my chronic illnesses and this really cheered me up 😘
Thank you so much for including a vegan & gluten free guides. It's a long-term dream to visit Japan (I am just deathly afraid of flying and poor so it's not happening anytime soon) and ever since going vegan I have been super stressed about how I will make it work. I used to be more flexible with what I eat but since I started reacting negatively to eggs and milk I have been wondering how I would even make it work. Meanwhile, my friend I'd love to take that trip with cannot eat gluten, which complicates it further. Knowing there's a guide like yours takes so much stress of my shoulders ;__; thank you for thinking about us!
Thanks for another amazing video! Super informative and feel good. I can’t say enough how much I enjoy the quality of your work! Keep exploring and posting for us! I live vicariously through you. Lol!
Bucket list❤ Tomorrow will be the first month since my father died. He knows that it is my dream to go to Japan one day. I hope that one day if I am able to visit this country, I'll definitely bring his picture with me.
Finally, I love these. I also love the vids where there's no cursing, bc my daughters like to watch too (no pressure to change, just letting you know the little people like your content too ;)
You're giving me life today! Thank you for your inclusivity and positivity! My disability has been getting me down lately, but it helps to have a role model who shows us that you can still live your (best!) life while including some accommodations. Now I have to go find a job! (I have permanent memory loss - my disability steals my memories. And the worst part is, I caused it myself, so it's my own fault.)
I'm here rn in Japan for the first time ever, watching this video ❤️ After watching your journey for years it's so surreal being here and exploring 😭 Thank you 🥰🥰
I have been watching your content for years, and am finally going on my first ever trip to Japan at the end of the year. I've also got a progressive disorder that affects my walking, Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia, so get very anxious when visiting new places. You have made me feel less afraid about going there and exploring, so thank you! I'm absolutely getting all of your guides before I go because I find myself getting too overwhelmed when trying to figure out where to go/what to do 💝
The thought of traveling with all of my dietary restrictions is exhausting, so your vegan/gluten intolerant recommendations kind of breathe new life back into those aspirations. XD I have to avoid soy too. I've been dealing with chronic pain for several weeks and been mostly unable to work. Walking around Japan with you and seeing your brave, cheerful smile has done a lot to bring back my own. Thank you for soldiering through everything and giving me the strength to try the same. You're a gift to all of us.
Hey Martina - I just bought your Tokyo Hipster Heaven tour guide. My husband and I were supposed to go to Japan for our honeymoon but cancelled the trip due to the pandemic. Your Tokyo Tours video got me excited to re-visit and plan our trip. The guide looks awesome and I'm so stoked to try out your recommendations when we go to Japan (hopefully) in the near future. Keep up the great content ❤
Oh that’s great to hear! Thank you! I actually spend so much time in that area haha so keep you eyes peeled for a random Martina 😂 it is a delightful place to explore. Happy almost honeymoon!
I tried this trip today and had a great time despite the rain. So many cats!! ❤🐱 Thank you for all your recommendations, Martina! I always enjoy your videos and I've been making good use of your travel guides and Tokyo Tours. Looking forward to the next one!
Great to hear Eri~ it’s a pretty area even in the rain. But yes it’s a bit wet here in Japan today but yesterday was insane wind, so I hope the cats didn’t get blown over!
Thank you for this. I lost both of my little ones in October and February, and it has been really hard. Your videos, especially this one, have the amazing ability to cheer me up. I'll have to plan a trip in honor of my little ones.
Thanks so much for another brilliant video! Gotokuji Temple was already on the list, but I can't wait to go and try to spot your maneki-neko when I get there!
Season 2 is off to an amazing start ^^ I love this series so much! This was such a chill tour. I love your Sailor moon jacket!!! I need that in my life! Anymoo, your videos always brighten my day
I’m going to visit this summer! Yay!! And it’s my dream to make a Toronto Tours series, as well as Canadian city tour guides as well 🇨🇦 I’ve been repping Korea and Japan for 15 years, but what about my home country?!
@@KingKogi yesss when you’re in town this summer and you need a volunteer/walking buddy/cheerleader/fellow foodie please do a call out in community!! 🥳
Thanks for sharing the detailed traffic information so I just found out my stay is somewhere close. Otherwise, I wouldn't think of going that way to the temple. Now, I'm adding it onto my MUST GO list. Thanks again, captain!
Martina this is unfortunately not related to the video, but I want to say you helped me discover over a few years that I also had EDS and I'm working on getting treatment! I really view you as a disability role model, and I get a ton of motivation every time I see you!
The tram ride reminded me of the first (and only lmao) time I went to Fukuoka. I looked up beaches to visit and found one almost at the end of a line. You then had to walk through a quiet residential neighbourhood and then on the other side of that you needed to find a break in the trees and a dirt path leading through a short woodsy area and on the other side of that was an absolutely gorgeous beach with only about 10 people on it. 9 of them were surfers and then there was some dude sunbathing further down, it was brilliant!
Thank you for the lovely and peaceful video 🙏🏽🙏🏽 it's been a rough week for me with helping a family member during their hospitalization, and this video cheered me up immensely
Wow. This is such a cool neighborhood and temple to visit. Will definitely go next time I’m in Japan. My kids will love finding all the cats. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Martina! I know it’s a long shot for you to read this, but I just wanted to let you know that even though you don’t know me, your videos have been such a crucial part of my metal recovery. I also deal with chronic pain and depression but watching and listening to your videos have brought comfort and a sense of calmness in my life. I appreciate you putting out these videos even while dealing with the hecticness of your personal life. You’re such a strong and amazing human being. Thank you for everything, Martina!💙 P.s. Do you have a P.O. Box? I would love to send you some stickers someday!
You are glowing in this video Martina! I can feel how happy you are to be doing your own thing and I am so grateful you have chosen to continue to sharing your joy with the world. Thank you for pushing through the hard days to get here and please continue to do videos like this, they are fantastic!
Love these videos, and glad to see you doing well! I'm at home sick and bored and this was so fun to watch. Hopefully some day I'll get to visit Japan, but for now I'll live vicariously through you! 💖 🐈⬛

The word "tempura", or the technique of dipping fish and vegetables into a batter and frying them, comes from the word tempora, a Latin word meaning "times", "time period" used by both Spanish and Portuguese missionaries to refer to the Lenten period or Ember Days (ad tempora quadragesima) (Wikipedia)

It's so lovely to see you carrying on with your _Tours Of Tokyo._ I hope all is well with you.
Love these videos. Somehow I always end up watching these at night. Thanks for the video!!
Loved the jacket!
❤️🥰 I was never interested in visiting Japan until watching your videos. You really draw out the magic ✨
Ah, this has to be one of my favourite episodes. The vibes in the neighbourhood are so cosy. Love it!
I'm here rn in Japan for the first time ever, watching this video ❤️ After watching your journey for years it's so surreal being here and exploring 😭 Thank you 🥰🥰
Hurrah you made it! Hope you're enjoying Japan, I hope some of these videos has helped you find some plans for your time here.
@@KingKogi They really have!! 🥰 Along with your travel guides!
😃👌🏽
was just there 2 days ago….i stopped by a sweet potato store and a red bean cake/pastry place😋
such a nice neighborhood
Martina, thank you for helping me build a ladder since 2017. It is so inspiring to see you glowing. Much love ❤️ Tiffany
Love the puns❤❤❤
Thank you for this. I lost both of my little ones in October and February, and it has been really hard. Your videos, especially this one, have the amazing ability to cheer me up. I'll have to plan a trip in honor of my little ones.
Omg Martina, your hair looks so nice here girl!
Martina, you are such a beacon of kindness. You’ve made another lovely tour 💕
These videos always remind me how much I enjoyed our trip to Japan a couple years ago! Traveling vicariously through you!
Thanks so much for another brilliant video! Gotokuji Temple was already on the list, but I can't wait to go and try to spot your maneki-neko when I get there!
That channel is not a King Kogi oficial site. Se is not Martina. This link isnt part of her oficial list on her UA-cam channel.
I love your hair colour and hair style. It really suits you
Season 2 is off to an amazing start ^^ I love this series so much! This was such a chill tour. I love your Sailor moon jacket!!! I need that in my life! Anymoo, your videos always brighten my day
Just started the vid and already excited.. a big thank you for this high-quality tour 😊 hope you come visit Toronto again!
Oh my gosh! Your guides!!! I’m so excited!!!
What a lovely story 😊 I enjoyed that so much, thanks for sharing.
Love you Martina!!
Thank you for the lovely and peaceful video 🙏🏽🙏🏽 it's been a rough week for me with helping a family member during their hospitalization, and this video cheered me up immensely
I am living for your Sailor Moon jacket!! ❤🌙✨ Thank you for the cozy tour!
That looked like a super chill day.
Thank you for everything, Martina!💙
Your face when you finally sighted the Cat Tram!!! The joy!
Great video as always! Thank you for sharing such an awesome day with us!
Love these videos, and glad to see you doing well! I'm at home sick and bored and this was so fun to watch. Hopefully some day I'll get to visit Japan, but for now I'll live vicariously through you! 💖 🐈⬛
At 6:49 …I love those train crossings 🥹 something about it seems so cute and ethereal? Maybe ethereal is too strong a word but! I love train crossings!!
I'm heading back to Japan (finally) in September and I can't wait to check out the cat temple, it looks so cute! I'm also so stoked about your travel guides! Going to get them all right now!!
Oh! And I love the jacket! Have you worn it before? I don’t remember.😅 Sailormoon ❤
You and this channel just make me so happy, thank you 🫰💕
❤ Always a joy!~
I'm also planning on going on my first solo holiday to Japan next year! And you can bet that I'm going to follow the King Kogi path.
Keep doing what your doing, Martina! You bring so much joy and happiness to so many of us and I hope many good things come your way for all the positivity and awareness you bring. Honestly, thank you. We need more people like you in this world ♡♡♡
Martina, who is currently with you to help with the camera work on your journeys now adays? Is it.. Dan?!? OMGash I hope so!
I was supposed to go to Tokyo last week and my flight got cancelled 3 times. I rebooked for April but I was bummed! Everyone kept saying saying everything happens for a reason, and the video was the reason.
This looks like the perfect day! I'm so excited to go on this trip and use your guide! Thank you so much!
I just had a rough day today. This made me relax and smile! ❤ Thank you ♥️
What a “pur” fect video of Tokyo tours. Luv it Martina! Thank you for making a great Friday evening where I can mukbang with you and then head out 😀🙏🤗
The word "tempura", or the technique of dipping fish and vegetables into a batter and frying them, comes from the word tempora, a Latin word meaning "times", "time period" used by both Spanish and Portuguese missionaries to refer to the Lenten period or Ember Days (ad tempora quadragesima) (Wikipedia)
I this this was my favourite video so far, I loved this neighbourhood, and if I ever go to Tokyo, I want to visit it.
Love your genuine and fun videos. So glad King Kogi is a safe space to enjoy wonderful, travel related, kitty videos ❤️ gonna cozy up and watch the rest before bed!
