Hope you enjoyed the video, the filming was cancelled about 5 times due to extreme heat in Japan, it was up to 46c! So I was very happy to finally get it filmed for you all

Dan!! I was wondering if you’d find him to film or someone else! Glad to see him filming! Also the melon gorgonzola ice cream looks heavenly and the kakigori too 🤤 my mouth is watering
Hooray Dan! I'm not sure why but this particular video made me smile so much, like your old school Korea videos. I feel like you're coming into your own and I love to see it. Love seeing old friends still with you too :)

Fun fact: Martina is not using an uchiwa, she's using a sensu! Both are words for small fans that you hold, but a sensu is specifically for ones you fold. An uchiwa is the traditional rounded kind that stays flat the whole time.
Thank you for the comment on this! I totally didn’t know this difference! The first time I was holding a flat fan, uchiwa, I was at a festival and a Japanese friend told me, “that’s called an uchiwa” so I just assumed all hand fans are the same. I love learning from this lovely diverse and smart audience 💕 🙇🏼♀️
I've been LOVING Tokyo Tours. Such excellent content - you can see how much care you put into your videos. They give me Anthony Bourdain: Parts Uknown vibes but with Martina flair ⭐️🐽⭐️
I second this!! I've been watching for a decade and your signature flair adds so much Martina thank you! You're up there with Anthony for sure. We love you so much Queen 🤩🥹
Finally made it to Japan for my study abroad semester, and we had about a week to explore before classes start (tomorrow). At first we were trying to go to shrines, and castles and temples and it was SO HUMID (I knew it could get humid, but wasnt expecting swear rivers😅) But today we went to the Kyoto Aquarium and the air conditioning made all the difference!
Welcome~ yes it’s one thing to know about it, but the humidity is just insane, you should have felt it during peak August 😱 September and October are delightful, enjoy your time here
Can't wait to watch, Martina! Your Tokyo Tours series has been an absolute gift, it feels like a whole new way of looking at the city, with all its wonderful hidden gems off the beaten track. I adore the graphics and trivia as well. The series feels so refreshing and unique -- thank you for sharing it with us!
That Was So COOL !!! Hangin' with Martina is always a good time. Cool Music, Cool locations, Cool Treats !! I'm really pushing it here, trying to send the COOL Vibes. Denver had it's roasty toasty days already but the hot 90's are still with us until September. Stayin' in the Shade is how I spend my Day. Stay Cool Magical Martina !!
I absolutely love the mini quizzes in between segments 😭 it reminds me of old school kids tv. I get super giddy trying to answer them lol plus I learn something new every time (:
I just chanced upon your channel, and I love your “Tokyo tours” series. When I am in Tokyo, I really enjoy getting off at random stations and finding food and drink. So, I have been taking lots of notes while watching for my next trip. Arigato!

Hi Anna, I’m so sorry you had to experience that too 😞 it’s such a confusing experience and extremely surreal when you realize what’s been going on. Even escaping it brings self doubt about your reality, it’s so hard to talk about because people who don’t understand the situation, they cannot grasp the mental and emotional fuckery that has gone on. It gets really humid here too in the Southern part of the US. It’s miserable! You walk outside and immediately feel like your pants are sticking to you. Dresses and shorts are a must for our summers. Thanks for braving the heat and humidity to bring us awesome content ☺️
Great video Martina, and it was awesome that you were so active in the live chat at the premier. I started watching your channel many years ago when you were still in South Korea, from watching while still being a teenager to now an adult myself. Todoroki~ I used to live there when I was a kid, decades ago. I used to play by the river with my friends. it was just a dirt path back in the day. Thank you so much for finding our special place. Thank you for sweating for us~
oh my god dan!! it's so nice to see him, I'm so happy he's still along for adventures what a real one!! this one was so amazing martina, great work!! love you!
I’m in southern Australia, where we’re only just easing into Spring, and part of me is dreading the inevitable seasonal trajectory into summer time. But you make summertime relaxation look and sound so charming, I almost wish it were ice-cream season right now!
YAYYYY!!! I remember when Dan did the POV snowboarding facetime for you! I'm so glad you still work together!!!!! Awesome video Martina, excited for more!
Martina, I am so sorry you had to deal with the extreme heat at this time of year. However, these videos have been nothing but lovely, thank you for the information and experience.
I'm catching up with all your videos right now and i have to say your tokyo tours are literally a masterpiece!!! they give me so much joy! you should beVERY proud of yourself (and your cameraman lol) for creating such beautiful videos Martina!! lots of love from a long time fan from Italy 💝💝
I must admit summer in Japan is killing (literally, as not a few die due to heatstroke each year, and believe or not underground trains in Tokyo were not air-conditioned until the 90's), which however is well compensated by the warm and dry glorious winter (insofar as you are in the regions facing the Pacific Ocean including Tokyo) and generally lovely spring and autumn, as you undoubtedly appreciate. Anyway, I congratulate that you are capable to improvise with tremendous sense of humour, turning all disadvantages associated with living in Japan into something very nice and comfortable at all times.
My first trip to Tokyo in 2013, I was at Todoroki station while staying with a friend since it was her home station. Took my husband in 2019 here and we ate at the Cafe. It is really amazing how just down a set of stairs is this whole other world. It is a great and beautiful walk. 😍 one of my favorite places. Todoroki Ravine feels like a hidden gen since it's kinda far from a lot of things and no one talks about it. Was nice seeing it since I cannot visit myself.
Hope you enjoyed the video, the filming was cancelled about 5 times due to extreme heat in Japan, it was up to 46c! So I was very happy to finally get it filmed for you all

Todoroki~ I used to live there when I was a kid, decades ago. I used to play by the river with my friends. it was just a dirt path back in the day. Thank you so much for finding our special place. Thank you for sweating for us~

I’m in southern Australia, where we’re only just easing into Spring, and part of me is dreading the inevitable seasonal trajectory into summer time. But you make summertime relaxation look and sound so charming, I almost wish it were ice-cream season right now!
Good morning from New Hampshire! I’m looking forward to the video. You always do such wonderful work. Hang in there. Tokyo summers are so brutal.
So brutal... but I survived ...barely haha
@@KingKogi it was the same for me every Summer I taught there. I’d drink gallons of water and hide in the AC as much as possible, too!
Absolutely love this! The videos you and Dan create are always so magical and wonderful ❤️

Martina, I am so sorry you had to deal with the extreme heat at this time of year. However, these videos have been nothing but lovely, thank you for the information and experience.
Spirited away spudgy dragon 💕💕💕💕💕💕
DAN SIGHTING! 😍✨
Delightful! Thank you for helping me build a ladder today
Omg did you see Martina? So sweaty...
Such a fun video!
Hahaha NOOOOoOOooOooOooO!
The magic of Martina! It’s just there!
Dan was a bonus but I missed her deep voice when she talks about food lol I was like YES! memories she is amazing
