Barbara O'Neill talks about the benefit of using a Rebounder for only 3 minutes in the morning to produce Nitric Oxide. I've been doing it and months and the benefit is amazing. My swollen ankles have gone away and my posture is toned up. I think I've even lost a little weight. In the AM, just drink a little water and then BOUNCE!! The calf contractions make the Nitric Oxide.

OMG - I had no idea about the horrible impact of proton inhibitor medication.
I was prescribed it, took it for one week and made me feel unwell. And thus when I learned about the damages this drug does, I went off it and gave my family doctor heck! I found my own way of avoiding the initial problem. Tks for this excellent & so informative video. Please keep on sharing this information to the general public!!! And to the decision makers!

There's another side to the use of PPIs. Some people such as myself have so much stomach acid production that without these drugs we would quickly erode our esophagal tissues; cancer can then become an issue. So we're stuck between two evils, and managing acidity becomes a balancing act that isn't easily accomplished simply by stopping the use of PPIs.

I have a book about Humming that explains how every human can naturally increase their level of nitric oxide (NO) in the body through the power of self-made sound frequencies (through humming). I guess there are a lot of things we need to know about ourselves. It´s all about human empowerment. This is a clear example on how every single topic can be approached through different perspectives. Thanks for this great episode.

I agree. There’s a need for people to self-educate and that is happening more and more thanks to the internet, but the doctors don’t like that we do that. There’s also a need for the federal government to stop subsidizing the food that makes us sick: animal products and processed foods. These foods might become more expensive without the subsidies but people can still buy and consume them.

About 2 months ago I stumbled across Nitric Oxide in the form of beet chews just as my husband's PP was insisting that he get on blood pressure medication. Full disclosure, this has been a chronic and reoccurring issue for him which was unsuccessfully addressed via conventional medication which, most notably, caused profound depression in one of the most upbeat people that I know. To date his blood pressure has been stable at 20- 30 points below his pre-Nitric Oxide level. And, his snoring, which could be deafening at times, is now barely noticeable. Thank you for explaining the science behind this essential gas. I'm hoping to do a deep dive into this vital health component, but this was definitely an outstanding introduction. Thank you

Thank you so much for this interview! So very insightful. I'm a 37 year old male that has had braces for almost a year. I found it difficult to brush my teeth using a regular toothbrush so i started using mouth wash every night and i did notice after a month or two, my digestion slowed down a lot! I wasn't drinking the mouthwash, i was simply using it as intended, but i did think about the mouth biome to gut health connection so i discontinued the mouthwash and after a few weeks my normal digestion resumed. For what ever reason i started back on the mouth wash and the same thing happened, digestion slowed down. But this time, i started to suffer from Telegen effluvium as well. So in a panic i ditched the mouth wash and low and behold, normal digestion has resumed and my hair is slowly growing back. Crazy! This information is so very underrated and the implications are huge!

As a dentist for the last 44 years, I recommend chewing on basil leaves, oregano leaves, mint leaves, for a nice sweet breath that lasts quite a long time. If you swallow the chewed up leaves with water, that helps the bad odor from nasal drip. And perhaps increase the available nitrate. To replace the positive effects of fluoride and other chemicals, substitute perfect hygiene…… and if you don’t have excellent hygiene, these adjuncts don’t really work….. in my opinion. Hi Dr Bryan i have been eating beetroot and cheese on a well buttered slice of bread or two to help me with my arthritis ! I now think I might know why it did not add significantly to my oxalate problems ! The fats in the butter n cheese stopped the absorption of the oxalates into the intestines bth lower and upper so no path way in to the blood ? This is also a folk tale or an old wifes tale in the cooking of high oxalate foods that might be born from observations of illnesses in families by an astute physician in the past ?So best way to cook all dark greenvegtables was to boil them first then throw out the water they where cooked in wrug dry or allowed to drain in a sive until dry the in a pan heat up a large knob of butter tossing the veg in this until warmed through then off the heat add some double or whipping cream as its known in the north Americas ? The same treatment for rot veg if to be pureed carrots mashed potatoes all other root veg purred sweeds turnips parsnips etc ! You then part boil all veg if served whole throw out the water add knob of butter or cheese meat bacon etc the , jacket potatoes and roast potatoes cook the later after draining and drying in beef dripping tallow or lard or sheep fats of duck goose fats , scoop out the jacket potatoes add sour cream and butter after roasting in the oven the refilling the skins adding cheese and beans or tuna and mayonase etc ? all these cooking methods add fats to the oxalate rich foods thus wrapping them in animal fats to stop the absorption into the blood ? just some thoughts I had whilst and after reading and watching your advice on line about Nitric Oxide and the problem with oxalates that come with their con assumption ? Lastly I had this thought after chewing some Thyme the herb for the large amount of muccas my lungs produce after I contracted long covid in 2020 ! I thought what if you had already eaten some fats like bacon n eggs for breakfast ,brunch etc drunk some full fat milk then after that cleaned out your mouth by gurggaling and spitting out the water wait a while then bunching up some raw spinach and fresh thyme chew this for a minuet not more remove from your mouth then wrap in fresh spiach leaves a put the plug like a tobacco chewing plug in your mouth to suck on for say five mins the spit out ? Now don't eat or drink anything for anhour of more alowig the nitric oxide to grow in your mouth throat and nasal passages while not passing any oxaltes into your gut n blood ? Like I say just a thought ?

In order for me to produce a large amount of nitric oxide in my body, i took the most available and the cheapest substance in the market. It come a time that I could not feel my feet anymore due to the calcification of my lower extremeties. So, I used "GARLIC" as the source of my nitric oxide. I took 2 cloves of garlic every meal and incorporate it in my diet. For 3 months taking it, i can feel the blood rushing again on my foot, its hot and it is sweating again and the numbness, little by little is gone. When I took the garlic sa my medicine, i believe that it will dilate my arteries and the flow of blood pass through easily and the placement of calcium on my foot will be disturbed regularly and be washed out by the gush of blood in my artery and it really worked. This is a knowledgeable discussion which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I take the information about the oral flora seriously. I don't use antiseptic mouthwashes or a fluoride or surfactant toothpaste. I brush with bentonite clay to remineralize the teeth and take care of the biofilm. Our water is not flouridated or chlorinated, but we filter for other organic compounds. Perhaps the 60% ultraprocessed edible food-like substances diet commonly seen is partly to blame. A diet of moderation with healthy fats, yes, even from animals, and lots of diverse vegetables and seasonal unprocessed fruit gives the body and it's flora everything they need. The massive grain content of DASH and the putative snacking implied by the number of servings will surely undo most of the gains of diverse plants, nuts, and seeds. Fermented foods such as kimchi or sauerkraut are fantastic probiotic providers that you can make in your own kitchen for zero additional cost. Big Ag is to food as Big Pharma is to health. Be a revolutionary: eat whole foods, move a bit more, and stop trying to sterilize you're body.

This comes from a place of respect and love; I'm not being aggressive or negative to your comment.
The reason is that lots of our patients (although trying their best to learn, and I do mean that), do not have the physiological, pharmacokinetic or diagnostic training and experience to be able to critically analyse or.determine the information on the internet.
And why would they? If they did, then we would all be out of a job.
However, saying that, you are completely right to research and learn about health and how to prevent disease, I wish everyone would do this as many of my patients have no idea what health is; they only know disease treatment. In the UK we get 10 minutes per patient in general practice to take a history, examine, diagnose, treat, prescribe, refer on if needed and then type up notes (which can be extensive).
It's our job to continue learning - those doctors who have stopped are maybe the ones that you are seeing. We spend (most of us) hours a week outside of work reading, teaching and learning. Just like these guys in the video.
There are national guidelines (FDA if you're in the US, MHRA / NICE in the UK etc.) and they are stringent, as we saw in covid (and don't get me started on that one!). The guidelines allow certain medicines for certain conditions - this means the doctor's hands are sometimes tied.
Anyway, I wish you all the best and please keep learning, just seeing you on here makes me happy ;0)
      Namaste brother / sister x

There's potential for huge public misunderstanding in Bryans' comment about "all mouthwashes destroy beneficial oral bacteria." Listerine does not contain chlorhexidine. Peridex and Paroex do. Chlorhexidine sticks to salivary mucin coated oral epithelial cells and remains in the mouth for days, until the chlorhexidine-covered epithelial cells are sloughed off. The washout period for chlorhexidine mouthwashes is days, whereas the anticeptic effect of all other rinses and toothbrushing is only minutes.
Dr. PERLMUTTER, PLEASE SPECIFY THIS IN YOUR FOLLOWING PODCASTS!
Thank you and Nathan Bryan for an excellent and stimulating discussion.

I had never heard about floride being a problem in terms of nitic oxide, but the mouthwash yes. Also very surprised he didn't mention the role of nasal breathing in the production of nitric oxide. Glaring omission.

    • @1122redbird
      @1122redbird Рік тому +9

@user-kc7mu4jp4p No, not referring to anyone with any particular trouble. Just saying that most of the research and reports I see and read discuss how a lot if not most of the nitric oxide is made in the nasal cavity and gets into the lungs through nasal breathing. So it's important to make sure to breathe primarily through the nose for this purpose, and many people don't (especially when sleeping). Not mentioning that was surprising.

Totally agree. I have high BP and cardiac problems but also, and I think at the root of it, respiratory bad habits. Mouth breathing. I now attend a Respiratory Dept where I am correcting this partly through diaphram breathing and humming.

Asside from developing oarl micro biome (avoiding toxins, avoiding mouth breathing, and ingesting a diversity microbes), don't forget breathing exercises (breath holds, CO2 tollerance, and don't forget to hum during slow exhale - see Wim Hof and James Nestor).

So. I'm not terribly educated and am trying to follow along. My curious question is how do I combat bad breathe? Just take a mint occasionally? Otherwise, I am totally on board with no fluoride and no mouthwash.
My husband and I have been on a "get healthy" weight loss journey for one year TODAY. He has lost 129 lbs and I have lost 79 lbs. I have stopped my BP medicine, anti inflammatory meds and prevaciad. We are really excited about entering retirement much more healthy than we have been in the last 40 years.

I am on a cell communicator which turns on cell communication upon contact with the redox signals at the mitochtondria level. Utter game changer. Finding arugula is the highest scource of low oxalate and glucose made it perfect for me. These two natural adjuncts have greatly contributed in my recovery from many
sytemic events which caused chelations of the cell toxins. I used to be incoherent, I used to be without any cognition and under 24/7 full time care for near 3 years' time. A walking talking miracle. Seed your lawns folks with arugula...getvit in 4 lbs. bag from you seed store. Have not been able to sprout it it is sooooo potent tastewise but start harvesting it very young.
