Half of these clips being Byzantines making Venice's soldiers regret being born 😙👌 Wow this made me remember that experience of booting up MII for the first time and seeing those animations of soldiers getting skewered with those all-new combat animations - so graphic!
Ya forgot about sniping the enemy general with any form of siege unit just when the battle started xD Overall, awesome video! This awakened the fire to play M2TW for me again hahaha. part 2 perhaps?
This game is very very very very good and epic,i wish they make a medieval 3 but how games are coming out those days maybe wont be good as this one, even with technology etc, older games were made like gold, genuine and with a lot of hard workd behind it.
"Capturing fleeing enemy softly" Call it what it is! Chasing down and flattening the enemy army with your cavalry, after a mass rout! Watching hundreds of bastards go down at once after they challenged your might! Now there's the best feeling in the game!
Why is there no medieval mongols katyusha barrage in there? Or the begging voice when you hover over the button of the fate of capture soldiers? It must be included
3 questions 1. Damm pikes are that GOOD? Usually they switch to sword so they get hack by enemies infantry or heavy Calvalry after a while. 2. I never figure out how to use missiles like archers or crossbow well. Like do i put them front to better shoot advancing foes? Or behind my lines to make arc shots that are less deadly than straight shots? And how do i use them well in attacking enemies armies? Skirmishers a bit less too offensively. 3.Is there mods you use? If so what are they and how i download?( i play médiévale 2 definitive édition on steam) Thank you
Pikes are one of the best units if you know how to micro them lololol (which is really annoying) 1 pike militia and a peasant stacked at front can beat venetian heavy infantry
Pikes need special micro. Stack two lines of pikemen, keep them at guard mode at first to absorb enemy charge and unguard it and then start to attack this way. Point is absorbing charge and attack guard cycle with those two lines. Missile infantry needs some infantry guard in this game generally. Only longbowmen can stay unguarded due to those stakes against cavalry. If you have a missile stack first aim at advancing enemy cavalry though. They're the biggest counter against missile infantries by those devastating charges. I play vanilla mostly, sometimes I do little moddings for fun myself.
@@manuelfuica-martineau4940 They need protection as well. Ballistas are useful early game, others can be ggod for siege battles and aiming mass enemy at choke points.
For the life of me I can't stand the delay the AI has in this game it's unreasonably slow...I love the game but in comparison to RTW for example the battles are worse
@@michaelchristidis8658 You said the AI is slow.. you mean the Unit speed being slow and very unresponsive? That's also fixed with a lot of mods. Europa Barbarorum 2 for example has a very very quick feel to the combat, as most of the units are light, literally set in ancient Rome period, if you favor ROME's combat, you'll like this also.
@@krekk2751 I don't have a problem with RTW however thanks for the mod...I was more concerned about Med II's slow battle AI, not the Campaign AI btw...the Campaign AI actually is better than RTW

Pikes are tricky.
There is a reason why most mods don't give pikes a secondary attack.
Not tricky, they are entirely bugged
That's why mods remove their secondary weapons so they use their pike as intended
No heretic kill? No clapping merchant when rng finally loves you? No "The enemy are crushed" and other awesome shout commentary?
Yes, they are good too. But, I focused on battles. I think this game is about mastering those battles with quality units.

Sounds legit.

Im not the best at them

not true.
suggestion, play some difficult mod.

How do you charge?
@@Pablox871 Order cavalry to attack before some distance. When they come closer they charge and it has mass and attack bonuses.
Let them have enough space and distance to accelerate
Also it's best to let them straighten out and get their lances ready before ordering the charge.
Player team artillery mostly missfires
How do you get the cavalry lances to stay down? I remember they would always come up last second
They have a specific charge distance value. They charge like lances down for a distance.
@@GOGPlays not sure what you mean.
@@GOGPlays ah so like if they are too close they dont put them down?
bro didnt include the animation where they flip enemies with the axe
Right, it was another good one.
