the cool thing about a sportbike is, that it offers loads of fun, adrenaline and a performance that most car drivers can't even imagine.. i can hop on my ZX-10R '04 in the morning ride to the next track, spend the day racing for fun at racecar pace, ride home and use it as a commuter the next day.. for a few thousand bucks! you just can't beat that. i couldn't care less if there is a faster car. if one passes me at top speed on the autobahn, i will happily try to follow and enjoy its sound.
I hate bike vs car drag races. They don't prove all that much. If you want great acceleration, get a bike. If you want to reach a ridiculous top speed, get a sports car like a Corvette. But that S1000RR is one bad ass bike. German engineering at its finest haha.
The top speed difference between the Corvette and the RR isn't that big. 305 km/h and 330 km/h... And it's mostly because of the shitty Gentleman's Agreement, I think modern 1000cc sport bikes also could do 330 km/h without that.
@eRRiklc The only problem with the donorcycles is how easy it is to put one off the road. Road kill, gravel, car on 'barely' on your side of the road. Lost 7 good friends on bikes from crotchrockets to cruisers, some with little experience and some with 30 years of riding. I will stick to the 4 wheels. Watched a guy trying to stay ahead of my slightly modded Trans Am on curvy roads and lay it right on it's side because of a little gravel, I didn't have any problem but keeping from running over.
500 HP cars, race a 600 CC Bike 800 HP cars, Race a 750+ bike 1000 HP cars Take on a Haybusa/ZX14/ H2/H2R That 700HP car had no business taking on a BMW s1000. Not even close...
TheNorderstedter1980 denke, dass liegt daran, dass er das vorderrad am boden behalten wollte, ab 10k im 1 ist das nämlich nur noch recht schwer möglich ;)
@FireOfEire Except for numerous riders at the Maxton and Texas Mile strips, who put their stock and highly modded streetbikes to the test from a standing start. The best so far is 278 mph from a Turbo Hayabusa at the Texas Mile last October. There are several other runs faster than the Veyron SS from street legal bikes. Remember these speeds are reached in 1 mile from a standing start. The Veyron took over 4 miles, a special test track and special tyres to reach 266 mph.
@sincityracer1 Maybe You're right, but it would be an interresting compare, because... The Atom V8 got also nearly as much hp like kilograms - if You calculate WITH the driver, the V8 Atom is even a bit better.. AND there is the fact that a car (even an Atom) is easyer to drive on it's limit then a superbike... It's not only 0-60 or 0-100, it's also midrange-torque and the handling, don't forget the breaking. The Atom 500 is the only one (street legal car) who's got a small chance...
few cars will actually give litre bikes a run for their money..put the bike up against the agera r or agera one to one or any of the new so called hypercars like la ferrari, p1 or 918 spyder then we'd have a fair race
Sen De Silva All other variables equal, this is a weight to horsepower contest, with the Corvette at a minimum 40% DIS-advantage. In rough numbers, Corvette with driver weighs 3700, divided by 700 = 5.28. The S1000RR with the rider weighs 600, divided by 204 = 2.94. That's a 44% disadvantage for the Corvette.
@Swecan76 Thanks ! Maybe a Koenigsegg is able to beat this bike but I don`t know the data by this car !The best 1/4 mile race with a stoch S1000RR done in amazing 8.85 sec. Of course with an excellent rider !Investigate whether this car can do it also , I doubt about it !
@Swecan76 Well after some digging. BMW S1000RR 0-60 at 2.7 sec. Agera R 0-60 2.9 sec S1000RR did a test at 9,93 sec 1/4 mile and was fastest among stock super bikes. Agera R does it in 9.3 seconds. The Agera R just keeps on going though and reaches 200mph in that record 17.68 sec. So I'd say they are pretty equal for 1/4, but the Agera doesn't let up speed the higher it goes, so it wins out that way.
@Swecan76 Thanks ! Maybe its possible for this Koenigsegg but I don`t know the data by this car ! The best 1/4 mile race with a stock S1000RR done in amazing 8,85 sec! (Of course with an excellent rider )Investigate whether this car can do it also,I doubt about it !
@bill3rdshift Depends entirely on the type of race, length, and average track speed. Most tracksare designed for cars, so of course a car will outrun a motorcycle. High-speed maneuverability and top speed, are why cars beat bikes in most tests. Bikes are better at low-speed maneurverability and acceleration (short, tight tracks). All these tests pitting cars against bikes always favor the cars, from the start, with unusually long drag races (this one being different finally) and open tracks.
@sincityracer1 Agree. The one car that would beat this bike the BMW S1000RR is the Koeningsegg Agera R. But that is an 1100 HP Hyper-car (IE beyond super car).
@codyschuyler And it's transported internationally via 747 with ROLLS ROYCE engines! The bikes are shipped in crates lifted by Toyota fork lifts. They are carried in ships built by Kawasaki.
@sincityracer1 I'm pretty sure aerodynamics and stability become an issue at some point for a bike. The new Bugatti Veyron does over 430kmh or something and I just don't see anybody being stupid enough to try that on a bike.
@lotgendrala probably to keep the front wheel down some. Ive seen bikes built to drag race stand straight up through third gear lol. Thats with an extended swingarm too lol.
@Swecan76 The Ariel Atom would give it a run, its basically a gocart with a turbo charged engine. Its zero to 60 times are very close to what a liter bike will do. Its like 3.5 seconds or less.
@PutU2REM the corvette was tuned, did u not see its rear brake lights and bumper? it looks like that of a ferrari 360 modena for more aerodynamics plus the front splitter and lighter wheels as well as 700hp which is not standard. read the description before you criticize mate.
@Swecan76 Yes , you are right for a longer distance ! I ´ll send you the link of the race with a very talented rider and the amazing record 8.85 ! Of course on a special ground for Dragracing ! But no reason to be afraid for the Koenigseggfans , I guess only a few riders are able to do it ;-)
I used to. Never got to the level I wanted because I saw too many people break too many bones I didn't really take too much risk trying to improve. There's this line of risk and almost everyone better than me had metal in their body. I was happy just doing slow wheelies and technical donuts and figure 8's. I took my bike to lots on a trailer. I believe they're 03-04 style kawi 636. with custom tube frames and obv other mods.
@raulwarrior Corvette has got 700 HP but weighs 1400 kg what gives you weigh to power ratio 0.5HP/Kg When bike = 200 kg and 200 HP = 1 HP/Kg So you have twice as much and in that case it does not matter who is the driver...
@SH1974 We can only speculate cause there is no practical comparsion ! So we must take the data and there got the bike a better result! 2,7sec to do the 100Km/h and 6,5sec.to do the 200km/h ! The bike got less resistance at the tyres and the bike got a shorter distance for transmission the power from the engine to the rearwheel! One way or an other , I don`t know and can only draw of the data ! But you`re right , it would be more exciting !
i say let the bike shift gears at whatever the top rpm is for the 'vette. one of the huge advantages to the bike is the rpm range it has along with power to weight. that would be interesting to see how the race will end.
@sw1000xg bikes are for people who prefer to risk more so they have more fun instead of hiding behind half a tonne of metal infront of them to protect them
A slipper clutch is a back-torque limiter... it operates when the wheel tries to spin faster than the engine. That doesn't work in reverse, and certainly isn't applying when he is going through the gears. That would just be a slipping clutch, which I doubt on a new bike. That is beside the fact that he hit a bump as he was lofting the front. Consider that if the rear spun the engine management would have cut the ignition momentarily. Generally people who speak the most have the least to say...
My favorite thing about stunt type bikes and some not so aggressive sportbikes is the straight motocross style handle bars, my next bike might be a Dual-sport. not sure still looking.
@andrewkutches he short shifted to keep the wheel down, I don't know if you speak German but when the techs were talking to the rider before the race they told him he must keep the wheel down to win.
@golf1diesel Its power to weight, with very little mass like that it takes not so much to shoot it off like a rocket. Im a car guy through and through but a bike definitely has an advantage with no doubt
@wellshii Yes, with money and much more money you can try to got the power-weight relation from the bike! So what ? With a piece from this money you can give the bike 250 hp or a little bit more money 300hp.
@ToffieBoer Yes , thats right - a bike got less torque but at that moment when it reach enough rpm the torque doesn`t matter ! Exception : The first 500 feet the car got a advantage ! Here you see a tuned car with 700hp and a lot of torque and a better start but after a few seconds the bike was in front ! Why should a 5oohp car do what this 700hp car was not able to do ? Bike: (ready for run with rider) : 1,4Kg /Ps ! Vette :(Dry without driver > 2Kg/Ps ! Watch the result in this race
@honda12345678 depends which track, if it's small and curvy, then MAYBE, but about any other normal track with some straights and mix of slow and fast corners, this bike will be faster... corner speed would be similar but bike has more traction, can accellerate out of the corner much sooner and the accelleration itself is higher so it will reach a faster speed on the straights also... Big killer in this car is the weight and lack of traction.
@Swecan76 17,86 sec to do the 200mph is damn fast ! I know only one stockbike that can do it faster : The MTT Y2K ! But the usual distance for a dragrace is the 1/4 or a 1/2 mile.and there it is hard to find a stockcar with better results! 200mp/h is close to the topspeed of the S1000RR and of course there the accleration will flatten
yeah i heard of that place but havent had time to round a few other rides to go with me, pluss im 17 so with school, and job and all that its hard to find time right now -.-
i think so, i saw a video comparing OEM bikes to superbikes and motogp bikes, theres very little difference other than some forks, suspension, tires/carbon wheels and tuning
@the3rddecline Yes, both fantastic machines and both very very fast...riding / driving through the Black Forest would be incredible on either...but I have to point out that most litre bikes will run 0-145mph in the mid to high 9's...the Veyron does it in 10.5s under ideal conditions (launch control engaged & expecting to race), so a good rider on a GSX-R1000 / Hayabusa, BMW S1000RR, CBR1000RR, Kawa ZX14 / ZX10R, Yam R1, etc. would actually take a Veyron 0-145mph.
@filipzanetic Both bike and car has been through the tuning shop but I think the stock Vett would have been more embarrassed by the stock S100RR I can believe jimmythazn figure of only 11BHP more than stock
@Michiganman2cali This race was not germany vs america but bike vs car ! I don`t doubt about it , that US-bikes like the Y2K (MTT) would also beat a Porsche or an Audi , though I am a german !
@Slitripper5000 This is a drag race. The less the tire is in the air the faster the acceleration, big time. This bikes computer won't let the front tire get over 2' high off the ground.
@ulquiorragrimmjow no, you're wrong. The reason we often do is: kg/hp, therefore, Vette is a 2kg/hp vehicle and BMW bike is an aproximatelly 0,98kg/hp bike. Twice faster and greater than the Vette. But that's almost the same reasult in the end line....BMW wins! hehe
I know, I have a TL1000S which has a slipper clutch and stills backs into corners surprisingly swiftly. An R6 with a slipper clutch would feel like a 2-stroke by comparison.
@stillrob420 Thats right,a few of cars got more topspeed. But we talk here about the hastening!Example:Look the marine turbine,a rare bike but made for steetusing.3oohp. 6,5sec to 300Km/h,420Km/h topspeed. How many cars do You know with so many power?
(ASR) is actually a program that is able to be turned off on the bike, i think it is actually an option but ive never looked into it. This bike is actually the fastest 1000cc on the market and if you have ever seen bmw's video on it they boast a 1 to 1 power ratio.
@1986SoWhat Here I am again! The TC don`t help against a wheelie! The bike was ride by the belgium champion and he did talk with his team about the chance to ride without a wheelie, not to much rpm. and before the race they did the distance between front and rearwheel long a possible.Thats the reason why he keep the wheel on the ground. But in deed, not each rider can beat the corvette so bad!
@LscAndrew Yeah but car has driver too and more fuel (more weight) But anyway still bike power to weight ratio is better and the bike is way more aerodynamic and cuts thru air more easily than a car ;)
@the3rddecline A stock S1000RR cannot cross 300KPH while The stock veyron Has a top speed of 431 kmh. I am Very happy that the S1000RR at least keeps pace for a while against a million euro car. bikes FTW
I understood very little (my German is poor, sorry) but it's still a fabulous language to listen to. At least (unlike English) it's a logical language. What does he say at 1:14? I'd love to know. Great video. Tausend Dank!
@xxaxxtoni MTT Y2K,....and if this is not a serial bike a veyron and a ferrari is not a serial car also. And take a look into the offer to give a busa or other bikes 250hp+.Its very simple and legal!
@LscAndrew Well pointed out, although the same goes for the car driver weight, but of course he will proportionaly have a lesser, but not totally neglegible effect on the car performance. A friend of mine keeps quoting his GSXR1000 dry weight figures. I tell him they are worthless as without fuel, oil and a rider it wont be beating anything LOL..!!
That sound... I love bikes !
the cool thing about a sportbike is, that it offers loads of fun, adrenaline and a performance that most car drivers can't even imagine.. i can hop on my ZX-10R '04 in the morning ride to the next track, spend the day racing for fun at racecar pace, ride home and use it as a commuter the next day.. for a few thousand bucks! you just can't beat that. i couldn't care less if there is a faster car. if one passes me at top speed on the autobahn, i will happily try to follow and enjoy its sound.
If you want a fair race, give the corvette a quarter mile head start.
Nah, it'd still lose. Best to throw in some curves.
I hate bike vs car drag races. They don't prove all that much. If you want great acceleration, get a bike. If you want to reach a ridiculous top speed, get a sports car like a Corvette. But that S1000RR is one bad ass bike. German engineering at its finest haha.

The S1000RR is a monster. Even a stock one can beat the Corvette easily.
@guitaristwagner stock is 192, but it has a special intake on the front that can make it 200
Haha Mercedes Truck delivers BMW motorcycle... :D
maybe because there's no BMW truck? :D
@ManKidDudeBro It´s a tuned ZR1, modded by Geiger Cars (Munich, Germany)
That BMW S1000 RR is the devil.
@eRRiklc The only problem with the donorcycles is how easy it is to put one off the road. Road kill, gravel, car on 'barely' on your side of the road. 500 HP cars, race a 600 CC Bike
800 HP cars, Race a 750+ bike
1000 HP cars Take on a Haybusa/ZX14/ H2/H2R
That 700HP car had no business taking on a BMW s1000. Not even close...
BMW S1000RR beats Veyron SuperSport on acceleration. You don't need 1300 CC + bikes to beat 1000 HP + cars.
Yes, thats the point I am getting at. Its just a generalization.
@Migachello I'm pretty sure they help people commute to work every day so they can build your aftermarket parts.

the s1000rr could still beat the p1 I watched the panigalle 1199 ducatti, vs the p1 and it just one and I know the s1000rr can destroy the 1199
Only things that can touch bikes are super modded super cars ie UGR GALLARDO, 1500-2000 hp!
Sen De Silva All other variables equal, this is a weight to horsepower contest, with the Corvette at a minimum 40% DIS-advantage. In rough numbers, Corvette with driver weighs 3700, divided by 700 = 5.28. The S1000RR with the

@jimmythazn .. no just 4...at high speed the bike intakes produce 7 more Horses. Bringing it to 200hp
@Swecan76 Well after some digging.
BMW S1000RR 0-60 at 2.7 sec.
Agera R 0-60 2.9 sec
S1000RR did a test at 9,93 sec 1/4 mile and was fastest among stock super bikes.

To use a quote from the movie Grandma's Boy " This is like if Tyson fought an infant" LOL Of course neither car, nor bike are stock by any means.
@sincityracer1
I'm pretty sure aerodynamics and stability become an issue at some point for a bike. The new Bugatti Veyron does over 430kmh or something and I just don't see anybody being stupid enough to try that on a bike.
@DwnNvr assuming the vid wasnt manufactured & the zx wasnt from 1983, its still not "this bike" which is the s1000rr
@lotgendrala probably to keep the front wheel down some. Ive seen bikes built to drag race stand straight up through third gear lol. Thats with an extended swingarm too lol.
WHERE DID THE CORVETTE GET THE BODY KIT FROM???
IT LOOKS GREAT!!!
That Corvette looked like it was going backwards :0)
@Swecan76 The Ariel Atom would give it a run, its basically a gocart with a turbo charged engine. Its zero to 60 times are very close to what a liter bike will do. Its like 3.5 seconds or less.

looks like they were styling towards nooble at the back of the zr1 and alfa at the front
But that's almost the same reasult in the end line....BMW wins! hehe
@jimmythazn But what about transmission , tires ,weight its big difference between raod engine and racing engine .
@filipzanetic It's only got 11HP up on the stock street bike.
And 5 minutes later... the car finishes. That's why we ride the bikes.
I think the Corvette driver knew the result just before the start of the race. That constipated look.Lol
Nitesh Srivastava The guy standing next to the car said he may have a chance if he gets the power down without wheelspin...
is that a special zr1 or what? it looks very cool with black bar on the rear
That is the sickest looking corvette rear-end that I have EVER seen.
Ich find´s sooo geil die Fresse, wie abgefuckt der ist am Ende hahahahaaha einfach göttlich 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I know, I have a TL1000S which has a slipper clutch and stills backs into corners surprisingly swiftly. An R6 with a slipper clutch would feel like a 2-stroke by comparison.
From what I could understand the distance was 1 Km but they did not mention any times.
@PutU2REM No tuning? The description says TUNED Corvette ZR1.
I am NOT a Vette guy, and hate cars in white. But OMG that is one of the most beautiful cars that i have ever seen.
@bosalex2006 I was thinking the same thing when I seen his tach. My best guess is he was trying to keep the front wheel down.
@LscAndrew Yeah but car has driver too and more fuel (more weight) But anyway still bike power to weight ratio is better and the bike is way more aerodynamic and cuts thru air more easily than a car ;)
@AshtonPhoto He said :" die spinnen,die BMW-Kläuse",it`s an idiom and means "they`re be crazy,the BMW-Guys"
matthias, du bist geil alter aber
das hier hätte ich dir auch schon vorher sagen können :))))
motorrad ist und bleibt king man!
@javabaja how did the bike have a headstart? if anything the car started off before the bike!
@mra2z If you look at the BMW revs it's nowhere near redline in gear 1,2, 3, 4. Plenty in reserve. I'd take both!
they say that the key factor for accelerating is how much weight is there per horse power
anyone else find it funny that the truck carrying the BMW is a Merc? i Lol'd
@the3rddecline
A stock S1000RR cannot cross 300KPH while The stock veyron Has a top speed of 431 kmh.
@rohitt222 oh and i forgot...that is in a rolling race,..cause on start bike stomps almost anything
@xxaxxtoni MTT Y2K,....and if this is not a serial bike a veyron and a ferrari is not a serial car also. And take a look into the offer to give a busa or other bikes 250hp+.Its very simple and legal!
I'm a Vette man, but that Bimmer is impressive!!
The Magical Word: Power to Weight Ratio. No matter which vehicle.
