- We've got new tools from Milwaukee coming to the M18 Fuel outdoor power equipment sector in the form of a single battery handheld blower (3017-20) and a dual battery backpack blower (3009-20).
In this video, Clint covers what's new with these blowers and when you can expect them to hit the market! If you want more information, check out our key notes from the press release down below!
📖 Key Notes 📖
Let’s start with the new standard single battery blower, the M18 Fuel 3017-20. Powered by a brushless motor, this new blower is claiming up to 500 CFM, 120MPH, and 12.2 Newtons of blowing force.
The blower weighs 5.1 pounds without a battery, which makes for a lightweight and ergonomic build. There’s a variable speed control on the top of the handle which lets you dial in exactly how much power you need, whether you’d like to optimize power or runtime.
In addition to the new blowers, Milwaukee announced two new blower attachments for 2024. The Blower Gutter attachment gives you over 8 feet of extension and 360 degree elbow rotation to clear gutters. They are also releasing an angled flare attachment to flatten the stream of air for more coverage in parallel to the ground to more effectively get up that stubborn debris.
The M18 3017-20 will be available March 2024, available as a bare tool for $179. You can get the Blower Gutter attachment for $79 and the Angled Flare will run you $15.
For airflow on the backpack blower, you can expect up to 650 CFM along with 155 MPH on the air speed side of things. As for air force, Milwaukee is claiming 20.5 newtons. According to Milwaukee’s data, the blowing force exceeds what you would expect from a 60cc gas model. That’s lower than what the strongest backpack blowers are producing, but still in the middle of the range where many Pros are buying.
Even with the large jump in power, Milwaukee kept the sound levels in check, clocking in at 62 db(A) per ANSI noise standards.
The dual battery backpack blower on its own runs $499. If it’s a kit you’re after, that’s $1499, and includes four 12.0Ah High Output batteries and a charger.
The dual batteries with 2 forge is insane i love mine , the backpack look very nice and powerfull too i love my m18 OPE
Im a Milwaukee tool fanatic, i have a huge collection, but the back pack only has 650 cfm and 155 mph wind speed ....well just not enough......it should be a minimum of 850 to 900 cfm and 200 plus mph .......and use that new large forge 12 hour battery ? Love my Milwaukee ,but there blowers im not to impressed with .....needs more power ...... They are made very well as usual....... Again it needs more azz whipping powr 😢
Hello my friend❤Your video is amazing!💐 Content that inspires and motivates many people!!🌹 Keep uploading good videos!💮Good luck and good mood👍❤❤❤
Milwaukee is way to expensive to keep up with. I won't deny their performance but just because someone only owns just that brand doesn't mean they can't own another. A ryobi hp blower can get the job done without the price so why not get one
Milwaukee is definitely shifting their focus towards folks who are already on the M18 Fuel platform, or working commercially. Like you said, Ryobi is a perfectly viable and more affordable option!
@Protoolreviews I love Milwaukee I own quite a few tools where ryobi can't cut it but for someone on my budget I don't need a 300$ string trimmer for example when a 150$ does the job perfect. Thanks for the video
Love the blowers but here’s me still waiting for a tool only mower
One can hope!
It’s coming
I had Milwaukee OPE and sold them to get Ego. Better performance and much better batteries
only $1500 haha..omfg.
When’s the blowers going to be in stores
The handheld blower is expected to be available in March and the backpack blower in April
Whats the run time on the backpack blower?
When we get it in house we'll test it out and provide an update on our website!

I'd rather get the Kress backpack blower... 1 battery with a large handle to help remove it. Removing 4 differnent batteries sounds like a PITA... Also the Kress has more power for less money.
Can you highlight the main differences/improvements with the new m18 handheld single battery blower from the previous generation? Tough to tell what's different and quantities on the differences. Thanks!
Best tools, best batteries too. Milwaukee rules.
Is Milwaukee coming out with battery roofing nailer
Or siding/ fencing nailer

4x 12ah batts run about $1000.00, That's pretty steep.
I build my own 12ah batts for $100 each using the same 2170 cells that milwaukee uses. Kit with all hardware (case, screws, bms circuit board, holders, and metal bus bars) online (ebay or amazon) are around $35-40. Then the cells I bought on an online supplier which on a special were $4 each (usually $6 each)or on special then $60 for the 15 needed cells. Again they are the same samsung model cells used in the m18 12ah packs. You just need a good higher power spot welder which I got for $250. I can repair (replace bad cells) and build lion packs as well since I have the welder anyway.
